Saber Alter is getting a new release on semi-white skin at the upcoming dolpa55! Wonder how much of a stain monster her outfit is.

Mixed feelings on this one, another re-release..... But I love Saber and this is semi white.... >_<

I have a white skin Saber alter with the Santa set and the old version of this outfit so a little disappointing it's the same outfit but I do like how it looks with a small chest.

If they really wanted to do Saber Alter wonder why they didn't use her other popular outfits such as the armoured outfit or maybe even her Shinjuku set. But seriously there's so many FateGo characters I want made, they could remake Nero even. 

Stain-wise, yes the old version did stain but after a soak in vinegar solution and thorough wash not so much. 

 

The sculpt is the same, but the faceup, wig and outfit have been revamped. And of course the skin colour is different.

Yeah I had the same thoughts about that outfit… She’s one of those doll that should come with a body suit included in her set.

I’m not very savvy when it comes to Fate as a franchise, but it is a shame they re-released Saber with the same outfit, when it seems like she has plenty to choose from lol. Moreover, I’ve seen of few of these dolls on the second hand market go for under 60k, so I don’t understand why they would sell a new version of a not very popular/grail doll? But good for people who like her and wanted a non white version of her.

I really had the same thought with Salter… I had been wanting them to return to FGO dolls for a while now but this isn’t really how I expected it. It seems like of all the Sabers, Alter is the one with the most rereleases and the easiest to find. I’m also a little disappointed it’s not a new character or at the very least not with her armour or the Shinjuku outfit. If anything, I expected Nero to get a rerelease next to coincide with the remake of Fate/Extra, whenever that’s actually coming out.

(I also got really excited looking at the members blog for a whole microsecond seeing ‘Fate/Grand Order’ ‘Artoria’, because I want to see an official Artoria Caster so much, and then ended up being like ‘?? Huh.’)

however I guess there is a chance that she was requested a lot in the rerelease poll specifically by people who hoped for a rerelease in semi white…?

I hope it’s a sign they’re still interested in FGO dolls though (it’s been a while and some of the choices have been kinda odd) although I also hope she sells well enough for them to not give up on them.

She’s not unpopular. On the contrary, she’s very popular, it’s just that there’s a crazy amount of inventory because she was unlimited preorder and everyone and their dog ordered one.

I wasn’t into big dolls back when she released so this is all hearsay, but afaik she was highly sought after because her initial release (with the Alter Gothic Dress) was extremely limited. Due to popular demand, they re-released her a second time (with the Stage 3 dress you see here) as unlimited preorder, so everyone ordered extras to scalp.

As you can see, that backfired because there were so many on the market that she’s been consistently selling for less than retail for the past ten years, but recently she’s started to go up in value as there are now far fewer available than there used to be (unfortunately for me, since I’d like to pick up another WS body).

Interesting, I had the wrong idea about her then. But since she’s getting re-released, is there demand now still? Since Miku is still very expensive despite being an unlimited preorder, I was wondering about this. It just seemed to me a bizarre move from Volks!

She's a DDS too. I'm not getting another Saber, but I am getting that outfit for my Artoria.

Idk for certain, but it’s possible that they’re bringing her back because she was requested in the Dollfie Best Selection poll. Given all the problems with WS, I’m sure there are people who are interested now that she’ll have SWS.

Good catch, I totally missed that.

The new Salter is so cute! She's always been one of my favorite FGO characters so she's really tempting now that she has semi-white skin and is on the DDS body. And I love the new outfit based on her final ascension art. I'm still holding out for Morgan though (although part of me wants to be chaotic and buy Salter to make a custom Morgan).

I really like this outfit so I'm glad she's back! I can't tell if it's just the promo image difference but her outfit looks more purple hued than the pure black I remember the old version being

Th old Stage 3 outfit was also purple. Only the gothic dress from the first release was black.

Also, the latest Volks News confirms that the Stage 4 outfit (the shorter version of the Stage 3 outfit) is a completely separate outfit set. It does not come with the doll; you have to buy it separately.

I would love to get her alternate outfit, it looks really nice!
