Fewer each year, but I’m enjoying them while I can. Woops! I think my brain just likes how baldylox rolls off the tongue lol and I auto inserted that name without thinking haha. 100% meant Beyond. As for what others are saying, I agree as far as body comparisons go, they are obviously not meant to be anything but educational and therefore shouldn't go in a separate place. Even if they're rather um.. detailed, to me it's no different than looking at a medical photo/diagram in that instance. However a spoiler is definitely something to make use of. I'm sure there is a way to be certain those types of posts don't get moved accidentally (and to fix it in the event they do)

Location for spicier content like showing off the wild AP images, detailed ladybit or man-junk add ons, questions about 1/3 adult toys, etc. All of that is already here in various public threads. I have no personal objection, I don’t judge, but I understand it makes a lot of folks uncomfortable. 1 “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction. I have so many dolls that they have formed their own country.
OccultBeast Posted April 24 There should be two identifiers: "NSFW", for content that is exactly as the tag says: not safe for viewing at work. Things like informational posts, body comparisons, sales, etc, that feature (for example) painted busts should be marked as NSFW and potentially spoilered depending on the level of detail (ie: Volks DD busts vs AP busts). The new second should be an "Adult" section, where the themes may be more adult-focused, and not necessarily appropriate for younger members or those who just don't wish to engage with that kind of content. The forum already has rules on what is and isn't allowed, so it's just a matter of making this new "Adult" section to have a specific place where non-basic-informational content can be posted. This would allow informational content that maybe is not best viewed while riding the public bus (like AP dolls) to still remain accessible to everyone, and would put content that is more adult oriented in it's own room to the side, that every logged-in user is free to ignore if they wish. As someone who has existed in online spaces since I was a child, the santization of the internet and 'purity culture' as a whole is something that frustrates me more and more with each passing year. In hobby spaces, adults have always existed, and adult content has ALSO always existed within those spaces. You obey rules set by communities/forums/etc, you tag your content accurately, and you use sections or spoiler features as needed to keep that content in the spaces it belongs in so that it can be easily avoided. It's not up to everyone else to sanitize themselves for those who don't have any interest in the content so long as that content follows the community rules. The more 'blanket approach' to things like this that Discord servers often take of "you must spoiler EVERY image of a naked doll body, no matter how detailed" is obnoxious and imo does more harm than good, villainizing any 'naked' content as inherently bad and sexual, and frankly I'm tired of seeing it happen again and again to online spaces. Anyway, taking my seat again... I'm voting for adding a NSFW section with an asterisk that reads: "but make it an "Adult" section, and leave NSFW tag requirements in informational/sales spaces."

While I agree that we should make a distinction between general nudity and explicit adult content, this isn’t about “purity culture” or “villainizing” the human body, it’s about respecting everyone’s boundaries. It doesn’t matter why someone is uncomfortable with this kind of content, the point is that they are, and nobody is going to die if they don’t get to see adult content, so if it has to exist, it makes sense to put it away in a place that people who shouldn’t/don’t want to see it can avoid. 3
Veravey Posted April 30 In truth I'm also concerned about encouraging more adult-centric traffic by creating a dedicated section, but I also see some benefits in funneling everything away from the general forums. I suppose that leaves me at a neutral vote for this update because I genuinely can't decide which option will strengthen this forum's community. One thing I am certain on though is suggesting "adult content" rather than "NSFW" as the latter can apply to non-sexual subject matter. NSFW can apply to the general forums as well, for example. On another note, I'm also really hoping being forced to censor basic doll nudity for body comparison purposes or unboxings won't be too inforced. Seeing nude doll bodies personally doesn't impact or affect me; I see them as a product/material towards building a character. In fact, my collection is precisely centered around collecting all kinds of MJD sculpts, sizes, and skin tones. However I can respect that some people are sensitive to all nudity. I'd like to close on that I'm not against adult doll content, it's just a bit jarring for my head when I stumble across it between other topics. You do you, boos. ♥
Veravey Posted April 30 (edited) Oh, one more comment I forgot to add after re-reading the vote questions: if we choose to expand resin sections, are we ready for a potential influx from DOA closing in August? I'm personally still hoping (without holding my breath) that they pull through and something changes but hobbyists will be seeking new outlets. I wouldn't want the respect of and interest in our vinyls to become lost. I love resin dolls but having this small, secure haven for loving vinyl is really important to me. mayaiincho Posted May 16 I feel like that is the distinction. It's it NSFW or is it Adult. Doll body comparisons is nsfw and 1/3 scaled sex doll is adult. looking for - , Marisa Short Wig, full set Beatrice or default face + eyes & Sasara Fullset or default face + eyes.
