DD Sailor Venus Discussion

When Volks came out the the DD Dream Sailor Moon character's a few years back, the only one I really liked was Sailor Venus. My impression from what I've heard around the web is that the dolls from the Sailor Moon line are kind of...high maintenance due to tiara's staining, getting hands in the gloves, pleather deuteriation etc. If I had a Sailor Venus, I would probably want to keep the doll in the school uniform which was sold separately most of the time. Does anyone have any experience with this particular doll? Any stories? I just wonder if the doll would be "worth it" if I ever managed to find one that wasn't a crazy price. I know that is a hard question to answer.

I don't have Sailor Venus, but I do have Moon and Mars.  They don't wear their Sailor Senshi outfits too often, due to staining issues from the tiara, mostly.  I should check for pleather failure.  I have enough spare hands, it's easy to just stick an extra pair in the gloves and never take them out.  

If she's your favorite character, you won't regret it.    

The back of the tiaras can be covered with Volks skin protect tape, and mine have worn them for months like that with no stains. Overall I have not had stain issues with any of the 5 sailor moon dolls. Pleather is an issue, but you could probably get the pleather replaced by a bjd clothing maker if you wanted to.

Venus is awesome, so I wouldn't hesitate to get her if you can find her. 

Mars sounds like a fun edition. Has anyone ever read the side story where Minako goes to Rei's school disguises herself as a student? There is also a chapter in the Sailor Stars ark where Rei borrows Minako's spare high school uniform. I'd love to see pictures of the dolls in each other's school uniform. They would be so cute!

Aww, fun. Thank you! Rei has such a cute face mold. I tend to forget how short the skirt of Rei's uniform is compared to that of the other girls. Which version of Rei is your favorite? The original manga and Crystal anime version or the more argumentative depiction in the 90's anime? I guess I'll need to post some ISO adds in our group and other trust worthy places once I have some budget. I imagine that the dolls will be pricy even from collector groups. Venus/Minako is one of my favorite characters, so having such a great doll version of her would be nice. I'd also like to custom build a Sailor Saturn/Hotaru, Cardcaptor Sakura and Tomoyo DD too. 

@Skygirl  Thanks!  Yes, Rei's skirt is short.  Usagi's school uniform set is also Ami's, as the only difference is the shoes, so it includes both pairs.  

I'd have to go with the 90s anime Rei, as that's how I was first introduced to Sailor Moon as a whole.  

@Silverwing is also a big fan of Sailor Venus, and I entered the Volks lottery at her release.  He lost, but I won, and hooked him up.  So, I did briefly have Venus in my hands.  

I didn't open her wig or outfit, I saved that for Silverwing.
