Semi white Mochi Ashi questions

Recommended Posts

Till Troll

I’m about to get a semi white mochi ashi 2 with spare busts. This is my first semi white DD. I’m trying to figure out if any of my existing heads would match her, or be blushable (either the bust or the head). In my box of disembodied heads I have:

White Obitsu 50 heads in various stages of yellowing

An ancient Obitsu white head that somehow is the colour of Tiny Fox white

A  very white Obitsu 50 head

Tiny Fox 1/4 in white

smart doll in milk

some heads in normal/flesh.

I’m not expecting any of these to match, but hoping someone with experience of any combination of these skin tones and the Volks semi white to say which is closest.

Also, has anyone tried a MDD bust on a Tiny Fox 1/4? (I love chibi Dynamites!)

I would say Obitsu whitey is a pretty decent fit, especially if you work with the same type of blush for both bust and head.

Tiny Fox white is a tad too sickly pale to go well with Volks semi-white in my opinion.

Respectfully, I’ve gotta disagree. I don’t think any of the heads you have will match a semi-white body. The Obitsu heads might come the closest, but Obitsu Whitey is still very different from Volks Semi-White. This blog post compares various skin tones, and as you can see Flesh/Fresh/Normal is closer to Whitey (although still not a perfect match since FS is darker in real life), while Semi-White is closer to Super Whitey.

TinyFox is not only too white, but also kind of yellowish, and probably out of scale if you have old 1/4 body parts.
