caiusdolls Posted June 8 Howdy! I’m Caius but I go by Cai (usually just pronounced Kai unless you’re in Wales lol) and my pronouns are he/him! I’m from a 22 year old psych student from Canada. I’ve been into dolls my whole life but came across bjd I think back around 2017ish. I found out about vinyl anime dolls shortly after and immediately knew I wanted one since I’ve been a fan of anime since sixth grade! Due to the price I was unable to afford them so I mostly just looked longingly at others’ dolls but now I’m an adult with adult money and I’m putting together my first pair of DDBs with secondhand bodies I got off of Mercari JP. I’m big into cosplay, anime, sewing (& other crafts), plants, and horses. I’ve already started sewing some simpler pieces for my dolls. Speaking of anime, my two dolls are based off of Dazai from Bungo Stray Dogs and an OC of mine. BSD is one of my favourite anime of all time so if you’re a fan I’d love to yammer on about it! I’ve lurked on this forum before and I think made an account a while back that I forgot the password to but I’m looking forward to chatting with all of y’all! ^u^
SchneeFlockele Posted June 8 Welcome Kai! There are quite a few DDB collectors on this forum, I’m sure you’ll feel at home here

Angelpaws Posted June 8 Wales mention !! For a second I thought I had found another Welsh dollfie collector 💔 welcome to the forum !! BSD has been on my watchlist for a while, it looks cool and Dazai seems like a character I'd love, but I've got too much anime to watch and no time to watch it ;-;
MyuMyu Posted June 8 Hey Cai! Nice to meet you! I'm sure that your boys are really cool! I would like to see them soon! I wish I had a DDB body, maybe I should try Mercari JP too... I have heard about BSD and I love their character designs but I haven't watched the series. I wish I had more free time! Enjoy the community

My fam emigrated to Canada about 150 years ago but we’ve kept our Welsh last name since then. My mum named us all with at least one Welsh name haha. I’d love to live there one day as the climate seems much more my style. But yeah I love BSD with all my heart but I also have a massive backlog (rip to my five unfinished anime). ;-;

Enjoy the community Thanks! I do plan on posting them once all their parts have arrived as well as once I get photo permissions lol. DDB bodies pop up reasonably often on mercari jp and similar sites. I use doorzo after it was recommended to me by a friend and it lets you search multiple sites at once. Hopefully you have more time for anime and stuff in the future! Thank you for the welcome! ^o^

Keeping your family’s name and origins alive for so long is amazing ❤️ I’ve met a couple people with Welsh origins, but never many who actually live here sobs The weather here sure is something, we had a heatwave two weeks ago, then it rained for an entire week, and now it seems to be getting warm again,, though it does seem a bit more tame compared to Canada’s more extreme temperatures Anime backlog is something we all have,, and it feels neverending lol
