Modding DD Heads?

I'm really liking this mod. The eyeshape is really nice! Are you going to carve any definition for her mouth?

Just wondering, which putty did you use?

Huh, it looked like the face had been built out first, that's why I thought there had been putty involved.

I had a 01 for a while at home, it's rather unmistakable head.

It has uneven lips - for all this years Volks didn't change the molds

Personally I don't like it much, except as a base for modding.

Newer heads are different.

Nah, I didn't use any putty.

 

I don't think I will be carving the mouth because I really don't want to mess it up.

Modding my first MDD will be my project next year !

I'm very interested in this too. I want my own modded mdd next month or so and Y!Ja is so expensive....

My questions are:

2. Is a dremel and needle files enough? I'm trying to budget but I also have some 400-600 grit sandpaper on hand

 

3. How long does a project like this usually take? (i tend to rush things)

 

I plan on doing something very similar but with an even smaller nose. Definitely getting a few heads to practice on.

I have 2 DDH-01 heads on my hand now.

 

For start I'll be using needle files and sand papers, since I can control the might / pressure to put on the tool.

 

Definitely post my experience and result while I get it done.
