aililysan Posted Tuesday at 10:23 PM I swear that I am not crazy-it's like my doll projects are never finished. Maybe finishing them is a dream or something. Well anyway I have like 5 floating heads TTnTT
Thespian Posted Wednesday at 04:19 AM I also swear that you're not crazy! It is significantly more expensive and laborious to finish a doll than one would expect, even if you're not someone who crafts/paints/sews yourself. If you are the crafty DIY-type, that labor is amplified by your own skill level and available resources. I have several dolls who are either unfinished (3 resin dolls missing faceups) or otherwise floating (my Sasara plus 2 blank resin heads). I am slowly but surely making my way through my back catalogue of projects and finishing things up, but it involves a lot of waiting around for money, energy, and opportunity to align. I believe that I will get there someday! And I believe you will, too. 2 (Anthy Himemiya) | (DDH-06) | (DDH-06) | (DDH-07) | (DDH-09) | (Mariko Summer Festival Ver.) | (Sakura Miku) | (Sasara Kusugawa) Any pronouns are fine
Tierparkzone Posted Wednesday at 08:17 AM Agreed! I think it's not an uncommon thing. While I don't have any unfinished dolls / floating heads. I have quite a few sewing and crafting projects in limbo. The good (and bad) thing about this being a HOBBY, is that you don't have any hard deadlines to finish things up. Since you have so many dolls I can imagine there's probably always a lot to do ^^U Yeah, I guess you're right. It's nice to have a hobby. I hope they turn out good. Would love to see them :3 7 hours ago, Thespian said: I also swear that you're not crazy! I believe that I will get there someday! And I believe you will, too. I hope you can finish them eventually ^^ I know what you mean by back catalogue of projects x-x...and sometimes unintentional stuff happens...like for example I painted my doll's face up using reddish brown paint and the paint just turned red-pink for some reason after it dried o_O. It wasn't even close to the color I painted it with. X_X So now I kind of want to go over it with brown paint again. I guess if I just spend more money my projects would be done just like that, but then it just isn't as fun ._.U There's just something satisfying about working on projects. Do you ever feel like you've forgotten some stuff you already knew? ^^U _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I think that if I were to move to Japan to study/work I couldn't bring all my dolls there though. Besides, if I was in Japan I wouldn't want to work on my dolls anymore. I'd be focused on my life in Japan. I did take the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) N2 but I just couldn't decide if I wanted to actually use it. And I'm always in this situation where if I tell my parents I want to go to Japan, they automatically say China is better so I should go to China. :Y Then there is this problem with Korea because there is this ghost from Korea that is haunting me and thinks I should be going there instead. So if I spend too much time deciding I end up stuck at home, not deciding. It kind of gives me a headache so I just gave up. Me: I feel like I'm always learning Japanese though. Kind of feels dejavu-ish all the time. I guess it's all just like a dream...hmm...

Do you ever feel like you've forgotten some stuff you already knew? ^^U I understand what you're saying! The satisfaction from working on a project is more engaging/satisfying than finishing a project, in my opinion. Sure, I like having things "done," but once it's checked off the list, I tend to disengage. I'm probably going to need to take up new hobbies/skills, such as sewing and photography, to keep me engaging with my collection once completed. I always feel like I forget skills I've learned! I cycle through hobbies, so I get rusty during my extended breaks. I find that taking notes somewhere (I prefer the old-fashioned way, on paper) helps me keep track of my process better than solely relying on my memory. I have an A5 size ring binder that I keep my hobby notes and project progress in, basically a personally-curated reference book. It helps a lot!
