Millhi might have been license-related, but we already know that Sega is very generous with the Shining stuff. I mean, look at how many they made of Nellis and Aerie! And with figures too, they are fine with 3+ re-releases of stuff, so (unlike, say, Zune) they don't care at all about limiting them. It just seems fishy that all of a sudden there are Volks USA only dolls when there weren't much before. Maybe it's that they are having a harder time producing on time though, which would make sense--Millhi and Sakuya have way more elaborate outfits (and wigs) than Mariko and Rise. And we've seen the backlog on even wig orders is crazy! Honestly, I'd rather have less releases and more of each doll if that's the case.

I'm actually wondering if Volks' production numbers on Sakuya are more conservative than for Rise. Their last Shining license girls, Neris and Airy, didn't do particularly well last year, so they may be making fewer of Sakuya and making her more "exclusive" out of caution. It's probably ill-placed caution though, since not only do we now know how great Neris and Airy are with other eyes, but Sakuya's default gear and promo shots look to be good right out of the gate.

Kerbey Lane Doll Shoppe sets its own payment plans and payment dates. We did increase deposit payments to 50% to try to stop the amount of people who were ordering and never have take the time to cancel. Volks does set our rule of selling & shipping in US only, it's in our contract.

 

We do not have control of how many dolls we get but Volks has been pretty generous with DDs of late. Lots of orders have come in for Rise. I'm being optimistic that we can fill most of our orders.

So if I'm reading correctly you can get 2 extra chances to win these Volks US release lotteries by entering with the two doll shops mentioned here in addition to Volksusa? But by the off chance that you win two or more of the same item you'll only get the chance to buy one? Are there any drawbacks to doing this? Is Volks really giving you those extra entries or just one by cross-referencing the entry info you provide?

Volks gives me quantities before they send their confirmations so my confirmations to winners go out a few days earlier. Every winner who buys a doll from us will not get a duplicate doll because I send the winning names to Volks. I believe WLD does the same. The US is lucky, there are 3 places to get dolls. No one is guaranteed a doll from any of us, and retailers have no idea how many dolls are produced. It seems like vinyls must produce higher yields because we get a lot more DDs than resins.

 

We accept names for our mailing list plus we sell to people from FB, DoA, and this board.

Ah gosh, I think I should enter through KL then and also Volks. But I'm so indecisive and a lottery noob.

 

I'd love to win Rise now then have to pay insanely inflated prices on the marketplace.

She's cute, but she looks SO much like a hybrid Sakuya x Louise (esp with that wig). I was kind of hoping for a more sweet look for Cirno.

Does anyone know how long after the Dolpa the Volks International site will put this stuff up for lottery? I've never bought from there before, so I have no idea on time estimates for these things.

Kerbey Lane has been sending emails to people who win something, but not to people who don't win something, lately.

 

I kind of prefer it, lol, it's way more disappointing to get an email that says "Sorry, you didn't win"... because when I see an email I think I've won XD

So, so, so anxious for lottery results (from KL and WLD). It's going to kill me to wait until Sunday for Volks. I'll be pacing all week, lol. Not to be stupid but this is only my second lottery-- are the wigs lottery too?

I put in an entry at KL and WLD, now to wait to put one in at VolksUSA as well. Super exciting. I admit, I know nothing about her character but I am very excited at the idea of having Rise come home.

I'm pretty excited, I have a doll head on the way right now and now I get to look forward to entering for Rise and constantly checking my email . Luckily I'm working again in the summer and have cosplay to sew so my mind will be busy

If nothing else good came out of the hellish roadtrip I am currently on, I was told I could enter the VolksUSA lottery for Rise since things had gone so horribly the past few days

Just FYI - used to send non-winning emails but honestly the past year orders have been heavy. It becomes hectic when I send winning emails out then need to deal with people who change their mind, do not reply or get a doll from WLD. It takes me 2-4 days to write people on wait list (non winners) and wait for their reply. By the time I'm done (about 1 week after I confiirm) I need to get my paperwork together to collect money from a previous order. All new orders need to be confirmed before Volks sends confirmations because I send winning names to them to avoid duplicate orders. Basically, if it's a large order or I'm trying to find buyers I just don't seem to find time to send non-winning emails out. Plus I do have a doll shop to manage. Sorry!
