neurocidic Posted June 15, 2012 (edited) EDIT: Heard back from Volks again. Sooooo they are currently waiting for a new Haruka head to arrive to them from Volks JP. Once that head arrives, I mail them back this head, etc. I'm glad this whole thing was able to be resolved. ^__^ They said the head *should* be there early to mid July. I hope so, as I may be moving the first week or two in August. EDIT: I heard back from Volks (sort of) today. I had to email them to inquire about a reply to my previous email - to which they responded that they thought I was going to send more pictures. >_> I told them I had sent them more pictures and then forwarded them the email again, as well as sending another email asking for them to let me know if they received it. They responded back letting me know they had received it but that they were not sure if this would count as the doll being defective, so they had to contact their headquarters. =__= Really? They are gonna get an earfull if the doll isn't found defective being as someone on another forum was able to get a replacement head by sending hers back because the make-up was uneven.... >_< I wrote them back letting them know the same thing and also stating that I would be upset if the doll was not found defective being as I paid decent money for the doll to arrive to me with a scratch in the face that the person doing the face-up should have noticed. OY, that made me fume. =__= EDIT: Here are the pictures that I took this morning. I was so excited to see that this girl was out for delivery today! When I checked her DC this morning, it was still showing that she had left Austin,TX. I check it an hour later and BAM out for delivery. Woot! The only downside... She has some slight damage. I am mentioning it, but I realize that it is slight. There is a slight scuff on her forehead - which might be able to be covered by MSC or some very light sanding with super fine sandpaper. Next.. there is small and shallow scratch in her upper lip. :/ Not horrendous, no -- but I noticed it right away. I think it can probably be sanded out as well -- but I don't want to touch her default face-up. So I wrote to Volks to let them know. They were super helpful and asked for pictures, which I was going to send anyway, just forgot to attach. >_> I also let them know that I would take better pictures with a better camera, tomorrow morning. These pictures were taken with my cheap & old Canon Powershot. I'll take the other pictures with my Rebel and maybe Macro lens. Without further interuption... The pictures! They gave me instructions for the DDS/DDIII body as well..? Meh, ok. The last two pictures are of the damage. I had to turn the head in weird angls in order for my older camera to pic up the marks. I will update when I use my Rebel. Edited June 26, 2012 by Guest
milkytea Posted June 15, 2012 I'm glad she arrived--it's too bad that she's damaged. I hope you can get some kind of resolution~
Nehelenia Posted June 15, 2012 (edited) She is lovely. I am so sorry she arrived with a defect. What's wrong with Volks.... 2 out of 5 orders seem to be defected and people need to send some part back for replacement. It seems they feel so secure on the top they don't bother for quality anymore. They must be sitting on their chair counting money and saying: "We can always lower the quality to get more profit. So what if we get some defected pieces, it's not like we won't sell out again on the next event ..." Edited June 15, 2012 by Guest
Alphakitty Posted June 15, 2012 Congrats on her arrival! I hope you can get the faceup issue sorted out with Volks: I've found that the US branch responds a lot faster than the international one. DD Family: Mari, Saber Lily, Marisa, Soniko, Noumi, Kirino, Kuroneko, Sakura (DD Sakuno), Aerie, Akira, Kiki, Koko, Rose (DDS Mariko), Kureha, Ryoko, Lucy, Haruka, Rise, Extra & Alter! neurocidic Posted June 15, 2012 Thank you everyone!! I must say, this girl is killer cute in person and does not look as chubby in the cheeks either (IMO). She really is just darling!! I sent Volks USA some better pictures this morning, so we will see what they say. I also heard back from Volks JP and they said that they could not help me and that I had to contact KL. I had already included KL in on the small issue - but it's ok since Volks USA is looking into helping me. I will update here when I get some news.

carmen171 Posted June 16, 2012 She is so cute!!! I am sorry she had those scuffs on her, I hope Volks can do something. I was worried when I got my Lucy because the outer shipping box was really flattened, even her acutal box was dented in several areas. Please let us know what happens and post more pics of your beauty!!!! Nekopon Posted June 17, 2012 Poor Haruka's lip.. now it looks like mine... I hope she'll get fixed soon. She's way too cute to have a scar!
neurocidic Posted June 17, 2012 Thank you everyone. Yes I agree, she is VERY cute -- especially in person! ^__^ I am keeping my fingers crossed I hear something from Volks on Monday and that they can help.

DJStarstryker Posted June 19, 2012 Hopefully Volks will replace it. The scuff on the forehead probably can be covered with a wig because it's high enough up on the head. But that lip mark has no way to be covered. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
neurocidic Posted June 19, 2012 I hope so too. A scuff I can overlook, but there's no reason to send an expensive, limited, doll out like this.
DefectiveAngel Posted June 20, 2012 Congrats on getting Haruka! That is so sad and such a shame she came with those defects. I really hope Volks follows through and offers to help fix the problem. It seems kinda nerve wracking now to get a new girl with more and more appearing right out of the box with problems.

imistergore Posted June 20, 2012 My friend has DD Haruka and she didn't have any damanges. Her leg joint came in reserves but that was quickly fixed. It seems like dolls today are coming and more flawed or damaged.

misskale Posted June 21, 2012 I'm sorry she arrived with that scar AND that they don't know if it qualifies as a manufacturing fault. Though, I thought a machine painted the faceups on with stencils for DDs not a person by hand. Was I wrong on this?
glassjaw Posted June 22, 2012 you're verry unlucky!
neurocidic Posted June 22, 2012 I agree about seeing more incidents of flawed or damaged dolls. I thought Volks was really big on quality and their reputation? I am honestly not sure how the face-ups are done. You are probably right that they are done by machine. This mark looks like it may have been done in the casting process as it's smooth and not scratchy or rough like a scrape after the fact would be. I just hope I hear something soon. It's already been a week. And I will probably be moving in a month. Blah. Defective Twin Snow eyes, defective doll... Yeah, I would agree on the unlucky comment. I hope it does not hold true for Rise though.
