archangeli Posted June 27, 2012 Is it possible to give a faceup to a WS head where it would be able to match a NS body? Short answer: yes. Long answer: You'd have to airbrush the entire (visible part of the) head to make sure it matches ths NS vinyl. However, something to think about is which head you're going to paint? Since the newer option heads with the squishy soft head caps are so ... well... squishy, there's a slight risk that the paint might start to crack in places like the side of the head if you're not careful. juu-yuki Posted June 27, 2012 Yes it is. Just use chalk pastels and a good sealant. It might take a few tries to get an even colour but possible. Chalk is a lot easier to use and doesn't make a lot of mess. http://juu-yuki.com Dolly Shop: http://www.lizanna.com
sofiel Posted June 28, 2012 Yeah i dont have an airbrush so i would have to try pastels. The head would be a ws alna. I dont know what type of head she has. I think i might just try finding someone to commission who could do it >< but its good to know it can be done~
Kumi Posted June 28, 2012 Alna is "old" type, not the squishy headcap one. But like all vinyl DD heads, not entirely stiff. I think Shining Hearts sisters, Neris and Aerie, were first with new headcaps. And afaik only the new headcap is squishy, all heads are made from the same material like the old ones. juu-yuki Posted June 28, 2012 I've worked with a WS Alna before and yes, her head is fairly hard. I am not too fond of the new squishy heads, I find them much harder to work with. Here is the WS Alna commission I did for a friend: She is on a NS body since I didn't have a WS. The difference wasn't too noticeable so she will just need a little bit of blushing. Good luck on your Alna. Can't wait to see your progress and the final product. http://juu-yuki.com Dolly Shop: http://www.lizanna.com
