What a CRAZYPANTS wait time!!!

I considered ordering some parts from the Dolk taobao shop but jeeze not with that wait.

saw on rednote yesterday that there’s been recast AP heads showing up 😧 

Thankfully it’s not hard to tell them apart, the recast is made of resin and doesn’t look quite right

Woooah what!? Jeeze that's disheartening, but glad it's easy enough to tell them apart. 
I'll be careful about that when buying secondhand!

AP must be very popular if someone is willing to do recast 😭. Vinyl is one of the most annoying to recast, here it’s recreated in resin 😭. But it will likely never be a recast full doll that is close in sculpt to AP.

Even those heads aren’t that expensive in CN, so I don’t know if it will take off.

It's pretty crazy, for a while there felt like AP was a slowly dying brand and now all of a sudden its popularity has skyrocketed? I've been seeing AP dolls a lot more on reddit recently as well. Does anyone know what's driving the recent boom??

It's been steadily gaining popularity in Japan since covid (but I feel like you could say this about the doll hobby in general?), but I'm convinced the international rush is due to the weak yen. There seems to be a lot of fresh interest from China and Taiwan in particular now.

Well, they have been gaining popularity and a lot of people buy second hand resale price or off faithz which is kind of pricey.

I think it's mostly from social media. I see a lot of posts of peoples dolls and then comments asking what they are or how to get one!  Across all social medias too! (Instagram, Reddit, Tiktok, Little RedBook, etc.) It probably helps that they are irresistibly cyutteee. ^0^  

I’m thinking of getting one of the FaithZ Koyumes, since it should arrive early 2026 at the latest.

Actually the secondhand market is too brutal right now 😭. Either I build a whitey H (wait a while for thighs) or just get Koyume.

Jeez, I am glad I ordered my H body on DOLK's taobao store when I did, they are telling me it should be getting shipped in August still. So it was still a wait of around 8 months, but man.

was so close to get my first AP from a private buyer on fb, talked everything through and made a deal, only to find out that they literally bailed me for 50 euros more and then even send me an apology about "having to sell the doll quickly for a funeral". heartbroken:(

I don't know, the excuse makes it sound like they never actually had the doll - "having to sell the item quickly because of X" sounds like a typical excuse from a scammer. 

I Just Recently Took in a Second-Hand AZONE Iris Collect Milene "Mellow Chirp"

it so happened that the AP/OBITSU Body my Custom Mayuka was using Fits Milene as if it was Made for Her!!!

Further; as a perfect Bonus Milene's original AZONE AZ02 so happens to be a Perfect Proportional Match to Mayuka's Head Sizing,

So; Win-Win~

Grabbed a Koyume, hoping it’s production time will bypass anything in the US 😭. But she will be my last AP unless I see any under $350.

Also Jiwudoc has OB50-GGR parts including internal and external ^^. However US shipping is pretty rough right now 😭.

Could be! This assumption actually would make me feel much better, thanks;)! I won’t stop hunting for an AP tho:)

I got Rino(Rina?), and I was hoping for some reason that her G torso would somehow be not as thin as the ones I have received in the past, however it is not. Just wanted to warn anyone unsuspecting because the newer soft skin torsos are very robust that the soft skin G is susceptible to tearing with normal "use."

Even though I have all the outer parts for my 5th angelphilia finding the tanned joints have been insanely hard for me like I need tanned shoulder,arms,wrists,legs,ankle joints for my 5th ap and I dont trust myself to dye them because idk which dye color to get

Problem with that for me is like I dont have money to buy a whole other doll cause thats going to be expensive but also makes me want to get a 6th doll when I want to stop at 5 ToT I would only get a 6th one if I had my money together lol
