How to create my Another Blood... help?

Hello there!

I'd like to create a custom DD.

The girl I'd like to do is her, Another Blood, one of my favorite characters ever.

Here she is. But I totally dunno how I can start on doing her xD

I checked on some places about faces and wigs, but I need so much help on dress, and faceup, etc.

And, honestly, I'd like to know what would you do. I don't wan create a monster

There's been a MDD with a Nitro+ character, hasn't there? You might be able to start with that!

 

Edit: Found her. There's actually two, but I prefer the first one! She's got that attitude down.

If you wanted a normal-size body with an S-bust, you could try searching for just Al's head. I think mdd and the other bodies share heads, though I'm not positive.

Great character choice, Another Blood is awesome! Here are some tips for making custom characters:

 

First things first, you want to decide what body you'd like her on. DDII, DDdy, DDS, or MDD? Probably MDD for Another Blood, to match the MDD Al Azif, but she'd be nice as a DDS too! They're more lithe and lanky looking, which fits her character. All of these bodies, aside for the DDS, are available straight from Volks.

 

Then, the face. This is probably the most important part! You can either get a character face and change the eyes to match or get a custom painted one. If you go with the character face it might be a bit more expensive, but look around and see if any Dollfies have faces you like! If you want one customed, you need a blank head and a faceup artist. This is probably the best choice, since you can get the face done however you want! Volks is out of blank heads for the most part right now, but they are getting in a new shipment soon. There are several awesome faceup artists, so finding one shouldn't be a problem.

 

Eyes and wigs are next! There are tons of links on the boards to good places that sell these, so shop around! Eyes will be easy since Volks USA carries really nice red ones, for the wig you might need to find one of approximate color/length and style it yourself.

 

The outfit is the hardest part, especially for this character. Chances are you're going to need a custom outfit made! Other people here will be able to help with that, I honestly don't know of any artists who do custom outfits, but I do know they exist!

The second is Volks' official Airi head. The others you posted I believe that if you order those heads from those companies, you can pay for a faceup from them. You may not be able to send a DD head in for faceup.

And hum, what do you think about? Are these good faces for AB?

Are you looking for the more rounded eyes? The character you posted has a bit of that tsuntsun look, so I was looking at those eyes instead. I personally think AB needs to look like she has a little more attitude than the Airi head. As for the other two, I don't really like non-DD heads so I'm not the person to ask. ^^;

Original bodies are all sold on the Volks site, so they are easy to acquire (though not cheap ^^;). As Suzuna said, the DD head you linked is Airi who is actually quite difficult to obtain! The other two are resin heads, which will more than likely not be compatible with a DD body since resin dolls are strung.

I have 2 heads that are going to be painted by him, but not until June I think because he's booked up pretty full!

I know there are lots of other faceup artists, but he's my personal favorite. Plus, it's cheap!

That would be great if you could ship the head to Hikaru to save money on shipping.

 

I like all of those red eyes. I would love to see how they look in a DD head.

 

For wigs, look for 8-9 inch wigs for the DDH-02. The ones in the link are for MSD (6-7 inch) and might not fit. Leeke World has some pretty pink colors. Peach Pink might work:

Leeke World has very nice quality wigs. Their shipping is by express mail and costs almost the price of a wig. The best way to save on shipping is to do a group order. There has been some interest from forum members in doing a Leeke World order sometime.

I am all for a group order with Leeke! I want a few things, but it only comes out to $125 or so and I hate spending $25 on shipping... my AmiAmi orders already cost me about $200 to ship every month. ;~; So much wasted money.

 

I have a wig in peach pink and it is really lovely, I think it would work well for Another Blood!

I think you will have no trouble finding U.S. customers to split a Volks USA order, especially after they re-stock.

I live in the US, I started up a group Leekeworld order to see if anyone is interested. ^^ Also, I have wig in peach pink, if you'd like I could have SirNarwhal snap a pic of it so you could see what it looks like in person.

Peach Pink is a "warm" pink. If a "cooler" pink that is less orange and more lavender but still pink is best for Another Blood, I think Leeke World's "Sakura" is perfect.

Well, first: I think that Sakura is the right tone of pink, only a bit too bright and light! What do you think about?

I suppose that the right color is around this, and from Leeke the Lavender Rose is my favorite, even if it's too violet for her >__<
