jadepixel Posted February 22, 2013 Wow, nice! No Walmart close to me, either. That and Hobby Lobby are pretty far away, but next time I'm out there I'll take a look. Hobby Lobby always has good lace trims and random doll stuff. jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop
Jezrah Posted February 22, 2013 I found pots and pans just like that at a toy store called Smart Toys. I've never seen them at my local Walmart. So maybe they can be found in other toy stores as well. The ones I have were marketed for children to pretend with, but they are too small for it to look normal with the little girl on the package. It looks better with dolls.
faustbane Posted February 24, 2013 When I go back to walmart, I could see if they had any of those sets left if someone wanted me to pick one up for them This similar set from Target is a bit more expensive but it has a TON of stuff: http://www.target.com/p/our-generation-home-accessory-kitchen-baking-set/-/A-13408389#prodSlot=medium_2_18&term=our+generation I know this isn't local store bought but I found this cooking set on amazon that was pretty nice looking: http://www.amazon.com/Kitchen-Accessory-Sized-Perfectly-American/dp/B0055DP41C/ref=sr_1_10?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1361729784&sr=1-10 That seller also had lots of great furniture and beautiful china sets for dolls. mangaemi Posted February 25, 2013 After reading the newest posts I made an excuse to go to Target. This RSBe Me set by Our Generation was only 16$. Has tons of food/cake items and glasses.. and a really cheap and reasonable replacement for Melty's ice cream cone! (Which I would love to own one day... but this one is much cheaper for a big icecream cone... lol) I especially love the camera and the little drink with and stripey straw ... and the lolipop XD There's a much bigger set with a kitchen/fridge/etc that has more cute looking food items.. but I can't justify 69$ just for some pieces I won't want to use. (unless anyone wants a kitchen/fridge then let me know we could work something out.. lol) Happy Hunting everyone! ♥ ★ ✮ ~ Amassing an army of Anime Cuties ~ ✮ ★ ♥ The Family: Sheryl, Ranka, Kirika, Arlex2, Yoko, Snow Miku, Haruka, Student Mariko, Prisma Illya, Akira, Maria, Cirno, Noumi, Asuna Titania, Sakuya on the way: want: Sailor Moon, Miki, Yukiho
AwesomeNinjaPowers Posted March 1, 2013 I often find accessories in Poundland and the 99p store here in jolly old England You have to do a dedicated search. Sometimes they're a bit on the big side but that's mostly the food items which just make Kari look a bit of a piggy
Sporkaroni Posted March 14, 2013 I finally remembered to check the toy aisle today at Wal-mart and I was able to find the set with the apron (about $8 after tax), but I didn't see the metal pots. I did however see this item! Sorry for the slightly blurry picture, I was trying to be discreet, as I was getting looks for being in the little girls toy aisle. lol It is part of the "My Life as" series of dolls/accessories. I guess this is the My Life as a Cripple Set? It has a wheelchair, crutches, and even a foot cast! I think it'll be nice to use for a cute, but a little sad, photo set. haha
Tieren Posted March 16, 2013 It seems to be more of a injury recovery set. So you could use it when your girls get into really bad fights, or face plants off the balcony during photo shoots, or fighting off ninjas. Or regular stuff like sports injuries. Or faking it trying to get sympathy from sisters ;p
leitan Posted June 17, 2013 last October, i found these Hallowe'en witch hats. the one on the left is from a local gift shop and was meant to be a hair clip ornament, but you can see it fits my DD Marya just great. the one being worn by the penguin also fits my dolls, but i got it for $5 at Marshalls as part of an "outfit" for a little pet dog (it had elastic that i removed) hats by ___rei, on Flickr
mangaemi Posted September 24, 2013 Hey guys! it's been a while. I've found a great bench at a nationwide store called Hobby Lobby. If you have one in your area this bench is the perfect size for DDs. The pink is a little bit much, but nothing a can of spray paint can't fix ;D Looks like I could fit 4 to 5 gals on there at once.... heck maybe even 6. The regular price is 49.99 - and it's a foldable bench, with the seat coming down and the side arms folding in. I wait until they put things on sale, so I got it today for only 25$. then after spray painting it a little bit at dusk it looks different.. XD Usually I'm physically in the store once a week for random supplies/shopping and I saw this one. They used to have a patchwork style mini couch too but it was way too big - this one is just the right size. ♥ ★ ✮ ~ Amassing an army of Anime Cuties ~ ✮ ★ ♥ The Family: Sheryl, Ranka, Kirika, Arlex2, Yoko, Snow Miku, Haruka, Student Mariko, Prisma Illya, Akira, Maria, Cirno, Noumi, Asuna Titania, Sakuya on the way: want: Sailor Moon, Miki, Yukiho
vegablack Posted October 1, 2013 I got something very similar to that at Ross recently. It's black though and has some sort of swirly designs rather than flowers and they were only $12. So if anyone lives near a Ross, check them out! mangaemi Posted October 12, 2013 Took a tip from VegaBlack and stopped by the Ross in my neighborhood. This bench is the same size as the Hobby Lobby one - but not painted (yet not rough/unfinished) and about 14.99. Even opens/closes the same way as the Hobby Lobby one. I got this one b/c I'm now needing more places for gals to sit... that and I didn't want to buy the hobbylobby one again adn have to use 2 cans of spray paint to cover that bright pink.. Minty Posted September 23, 2014 Staples sells doll-sized binders! They're around $2.00 (cdn) each and apparently come in blue and pink too. The Staples I was at only had the white binders.
Yami Usagi Posted October 4, 2014 Last week, I ended up at work twenty minutes early and decided to kill time in the Hobby Lobby across the parking lot. I was hoping to find some DD compatible paints and sprays, but ended up just going to the doll section. There I found some clothes for American Girl sized dolls and decided to pick out something to see if it would fit Celeste. I chose a pair of shoes and outfit which cost me around $13. shoes collage by Yami Usagi, on Flickr The shoes are simple white mary janes since Celeste's only pair right now are black heels. The length is fine, but they are clearly too wide on the sides. The shoes are obviously made for childlike feet rather than slender DD ones, so the shape is not very appealing. Perhaps some thick stockings would make them fit better. Seeing their wideness, I'm also thinking of converting them into rain boots. Not all is lost! outfit by Yami Usagi, on Flickr Next is the outfit which I chose because I liked the jacket, and have been eyeing similar Azone ones. Also, the weather is changing, and I haven't had time to make Celeste any new jackets. The outfit consists of four pieces, the first of which is a hat. hat collage by Yami Usagi, on Flickr It looks fine when strategically photographed from the front, but a side view shows that it is way too big for a DD head. My first thoughts were to take it apart and downsize the pattern, or add lining and fleece to make a something like a Russian hat. However, after putting it on her, I might just add elastic to the back to make it fit better and chop a little off the bill. shirt by Yami Usagi, on Flickr Next is the shirt which fits well and I find stylishly baggy on an M bust. A DDY or L bust would fill the shirt in better, but would make it shorter. jacket collage by Yami Usagi, on Flickr Then there's the jacket which is what drew me to the outfit in the first place. It has a casual baggy fit and the sleeves are 3/4 on a DD. It can be zipped up, but I think that makes it look too big. Also very soft! The final piece is what I thought were pants, but turned out to be overalls. overalls 1 by Yami Usagi, on Flickr overall inside by Yami Usagi, on Flickr The overalls are white and brown on the inside. I did not see any stains after putting them on Celeste for a short time, but wouldn't trust them without a bodysuit or vinegar bath if you're sensitive about staining. When I saw that they were overalls, I thought about putting the outfit back since overalls are not something I'm crazy about, but I was running out of time and decided to buy the outfit anyway. My first thought was to chop off the top and convert them into harem pants, but I decided to try them on Celeste as is just for fun. on 1 by Yami Usagi, on Flickr And they ended up being totally cute! I was very conflicted after trying them on her since overalls are so not Celeste, but they're just so cute that I decided I had to make them work. overalls collage by Yami Usagi, on Flickr The bottoms hit right at her knees(she's on a DDII by the way) while the top is very loose. on 4 by Yami Usagi, on Flickr I don't hate the loose top since it does fit with how overalls are usually worn, but it does give Celeste a tummy pouch in some photos. I'm thinking of making them fitted, but that reminds me of "1984", so I'm not sure. Do you all think the overalls look better loose or fitted? jacket by Yami Usagi, on Flickr I had lots of fun swapping around accessories to make the overalls work for Celeste(my gosh that brown jacket looks so rough now), and after some Google searches for "chic overalls", think that a white button up shirt and longer wig would complete the look. Good thing I have neither tag by Yami Usagi, on Flickr Here is the tag from the shoes which were the same brand as the outfit in case anybody would like to head over to Hobby Lobby themselves for a look. They had a decent selection, and quality is good for what you pay. I remember seeing some outfits with cute fur coats and one with a floral button down that I might go back for. Overall(haha), shirts and jackets are a baggy, but good fit while pants and skirts fit best with tailoring. I doubt dresses would fit since they'd be too wide at both waist and bust. outfit full by Yami Usagi, on Flickr In the end, this purchase ended up being far more successful than I imagined, and Celeste now has pieces in her wardrobe that I never would have thought to add myself! Jezrah Posted October 4, 2014 The overalls are really cute! I think they could stand to be taken in a bit, but maybe not so much as what you showed. Somewhere in the middle might take away the pouch but also avoid the 80's look.
Minty Posted December 10, 2014 Indigo (and probably Chapters) sells little doll-sized books. Most were about love, friendship, and golf; but there was also a Velveteen Rabbit (even comes with a rabbit), Taylor Swift, and... This one. Sorry for the awful picture. Apparently, Mint does not like One Direction as she didn't want to hold it.
