katnaper Posted February 15, 2013 I just thought about this last night as I was browsing through Netflix to find a movie to watch . Couldn't really find anything so I just kept browsing and I saw they had Twin Peaks. I've seen the series on and off when it was airing but could never stay up late enough to watch it. So I've been sort of doing a marathon while I'm on my days off. I'm just on episode 4 but all I can say is there is something about it that makes me want to watch even though the pace is somewhat slow compared to the shows nowadays. Anyway, it made me wonder, what other shows/series you guys like to watch/follow in between Animes? Here's a partial list of the ones I'm watching/planning to watch/watch again : X-files (almost done - on Season 8) Supernatural (haven't started but is on my list) Sherlock (done all 6 episodes - love this series) Sliders (planning to watch this series) The Big C (funny and sad) Carnivale (have the DVD but never started) We have our own BLOG. baldylox Posted February 15, 2013 I watch a really odd mix of shows besides anime.... and half of them are still cartoons. I have lots of shows set to record on my DVR, here's the ones I can recall off the top of my head that aren't anime: AdventureTime Robot Chicken Venture Brothers Aqua Teen Hunger Force Pawn Stars American Pickers Top Gear ( US and UK versions ) Man vs Food The Layover Hotel Impossiible Mythbusters How Its Made An Idiot Abroad What's funny is that half these shows are watched by my girls too. Every night I have one of them with me in the computer room and they either watch me mess around online or watch TV with me. So some of them have favorite shows now. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
Pahsmina Posted February 15, 2013 I have a few shows I like to follow~ Adventure time Gravity falls Project Runway How I met your mother And sometimes I find myself watching Hell's Kitchen. Nekopon Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) These are the ongoing shows I've been watching. Finished the latest episode of Sherlock just a few days ago, loved it! Sherlock Dexter Mad Men Game of Thrones The Walking Dead Some random stuff I watch include: How I Met Your Mother Portlandia Mythbusters Top Gear (UK) X-Files (Trying to start over from Episode 1) Star Trek: The Next Generation (Trying to start over from Episode 1) Edited February 16, 2013 by Guest
SchroedingersCat Posted February 16, 2013 Sci-Fi. Lots and lots of it. Currently watching Star Gate again. And I've been a Trekkie since I was about 5. Star Trek: The Next Generation (Trying to start over form Episoide 1) That's my next plan. Just picked up the first two seasons on bluray, and the digital remaster is gorgeous. Now with +/- 15% more uncertainty!
katnaper Posted February 16, 2013 Mythbusters Love this show. Project Runway And sometimes I find myself watching Hell's Kitchen. For some reason I have some weird love for Gordon Ramsay.... I like project Runway too. But, Gordon Ramsay... not really my cup of tea These are the ongoing shows I've been watching.Finished the latest episode of Sherlock just a few days ago, loved it! Yukamina Posted February 16, 2013 Not much for me. I think I only watch two shows with on going regularity...I watch My Little Pony FIM and Adventure Time. I kinda got out of the habit of watching TV a few years ago when I decided I couldn't afford internet AND TV ^_^;; *hugs dolls* priorities... I also watch other things sporadically, like random dobleepentaries on youtube (I like ones about space, I watch them while I hand sew), and now that you mention it, I love BBC Sherlock too. I also own Arrested Development and 30 Rock. There are lots of shows I like but nothing I'm working on right now. My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt
DJStarstryker Posted February 16, 2013 Pawn Stars American Pickers Do you watch Storage Wars? If you like American Pickers and Pawn Stars, I think you'd like that too. For my list of types of stuff, I tend to watch dobleepentary and educational sorts of shows (Mythbusters, various animal shows on Animal Planet, etc), science fiction (think Star Trek, Quantum Leap, Firefly, etc), and then I have my guilty pleasure pile. Such as Survivor and The Apprentice (yes, the one with Donald Trump). Are you ready to rock? ^_^
baldylox Posted February 16, 2013 Pawn Stars American Pickers Do you watch Storage Wars? If you like American Pickers and Pawn Stars, I think you'd like that too. Heh, I do! I was at work earlier when I made my reply and I totally forgot those shows. I prefer the original Storage Wars but will sometimes watch the Texas version. The NY version is terrible tho. I also watch Auction Hunters and Baggage Wars. AH is always interesting, especially now that the guys own a pawn shop. But BW is very hit and miss. Some episodes are really great while others are boring and annoying. So I don't watch as many of that show. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. DivinitaAria Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) I like this topic I don't really follow any shows, and pretty much everything I seem to watch on a daily basis is dated, ranging from: Full House Whose Line is it Anyway? Fresh Prince HIMYM (Although not much anymore, these past couple of seasons are just...too silly) MLP:FIM Avatar The Last Airbender Heartland Property Brothers House Hunters Skins (UK ver.) Freaks and Geeks (although finished, still fun to watch the episodes!) SchroedingersCat Posted February 16, 2013 Fresh Prince I adore that show. When I was a young teenager Will Smith was pretty much my idol. I love his music, his movies, everything. Not to mention that he's such a positive roll model compared to so many other celebrities. If you want a bit of a nostalgic laugh, check out a video called Jaaam on YouTube. Awesome little remix of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air Now with +/- 15% more uncertainty!

Anna-neko Posted February 17, 2013 why do I always forget the name of this show - Bob's Burgers!! Its on FOX Sundays, its unfortunately stuck between The Simpsons (show that used to be awesome, but slowly hasn't... so much ... ) and Family Guy (... the less said the better) and is fantastic! The animation style is a bit odd, but the writing is really good! Funny w/out random cutaways to fill time, and the story of the episode actually sticks around from start to end in a coherent blob

Poofiemus Posted February 26, 2013 For a long time I just wasn't into non-anime shows, but lately that's changed. In my mind shows are kind of sorted into "really want to watch/trying to catch up/trying to keep up on" and "Will watch it if it happens to be on." The former I will go through the trouble of tracking them down online if I miss a new episode or haven't caught up on old ones, but the latter I won't really bother with if it's not airing at that particular moment. The ones in the catch up/keep up category right now: My Little Pony (FiM, pending season 4 airing) Dragons: Riders of Berk (and presumably Defenders of Berk when that starts airing) Doctor Who (currently NuWho, though once series 7 wraps up I'll probably start picking away at Classic) Firefly (yes I know it's not airing, but still really enjoying it) Castle (as I am apparently on a Nathan Fillion kick) Between all these I've barely been watching any anime at all, which a couple of years ago would have been inconceivable! As for the "if it happens to be on" list: Whose Line Is It Anyway Pawn Stars Simpsons Top Gear (BBC version only! The whole reason I watch the show is for those three particular guys.) Keeping Up Appearances (Various dobleepentaries i.e. Nova and Nat Geo specials) Basically the mind candy, lol. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
