Making an Obitsu body 'paler'?

Oooo I have a really weird question that I really have no idea was ever brought up anywhere but I couldn't find anything after a quick search so here goes!

 

From colour comparisons, the Obitsu body is clearly not that compatible with WS DD heads (with exceptions dependent on the batch as seen by an earlier photo in this thread).

 

My question is , does anyone one know if there is any way to make an Obitsu body 'paler'? As blushing the body so that it's a lighter colour closer to WS DDs? If so, what would the steps be to try this out? I'm thinking that if it's remotely a possible theory, I'll give it a try because I want a P40 body for one of my WS DD head but I fear the colour will be too off that it'll bother me.

I have had Obitsu heads on white DD bodies for years with no issue. I have also found the newer Obitsu vinyl to be a bit more pale (on the 50cm and smaller) than what it normally on a 60cm.

 

It is not an exact match of course, but I suppose it depends on how exacting the standard is. I don't think you will get a perfect vinyl match between the two companies, though I am betting that the semi-white skin tone will be close .

 

But with a bit if blushing here and there in one direction or the other - you can usually make things work well.

Hmmm, personally, I think it wouldn't work, or it would be really really difficult to lighten an entire body.

 

But, yesterday I put a WS DD head on my new Obitsu 50, and the match is decent. It's weird, when I put the Obitsu next to NS it matches well, and when I put it next to WS DD, it also matches well (not quite as well as NS, though).

 

The easy (?) solution to putting a WS head on an Obitsu body is to lightly blush the head to match. That's what I'm going to do when the WS head I ordered gets here...

Much easier than blushing the body, anyway.

That reassures me a little haha. I was worried the colour would be really off and end up being off-putting. I don't really mind a little bit of mis-matchy-ness because my Nia head came to me slightly yellowed and it's really hard to tell.

 

I guess I'll find some time to go buy a P40
