First timer questions on Volks USA vs International.

Recommended Posts

Chihaya

Hello I am going to be entering my first lotto entry when Kisaragi Chihaya from idolm@ster is up for lotto. I had a few questions that I could not find answers to.

1. Firstly, I live in the USA so should I order from Volks USA store, or the international.

2. I hear you can enter twice(one on US site, one on International) encase if you lose the USA order or something, and I see people who talk about entering more then once but I have never see how you do it. Volks says they throw out submissions from people who entered twice.

3. I know older model DDs are safe from cracking, since I will be ordering a new one and I have never had one before, im wondering if the cracking applys to all new dollfies or just a few that used the DDIII body or whatever when it came out. Im wondering if i need to get the CC reinforcements, having never had a Dollfie I wont know exactly how to avoid the cracking. I hear it uses a one peice torso, which is uncommon?

Thanks in advance and any other advice is appreciated.

1. You can choose either one, Volks international ships worldwide.

2. Volks USA and Volks international both have their own sites so you have to be logged in on a different account at Volks USA and Volks int. But because I live in Europe I can't tell you exactly how that works because I have never tried it before.

3. I'm not exactly sure about that but looks like Volks did their best to avoid that problem on the newer released DDIII bodies. You don't really need to avoid a cracking just make sure you're not too rough with it. The bodies usually don't have a one piece torso, just some exeptions like DDS Miki Hoshii. Not sure about Chihaya though.

On temporary hiatus.

1. You live in the USA so you can normally attend lottos for both Volks USA and Volks International. However, if this is like before, idolm@ster girls will only be available at international and not USA.

2. You can enter lotteries once in USA and once in INTL. They do not count as duplicate entries since they are not the same system.

3. All DDs can be prone to cracking but DDIIIs are notorious for this. However, they have been trying to improve the body issues in the more recent releases so your body may not come with cracks. I still recommend getting CC reinforcements for the body, just in case. The one piece torso is uncommon and hard to find since Volks does not sell replacement parts for it.

Hope this information helps!

Chihaya's going to have the new v3 internal shoulder frame, as all new DDs do. Unless Coolcat has made a new style of part, their existing reinforcements do not fit on v3. It is a very new development, so CC may make something eventually if they don't have one now.

The part that has had trouble in the past is only 2100 yen to replace, so honestly with the new v3's I'd suggest you just get Chihaya and then not worry about it until a problem develops. Or until CC makes v3-compatible parts.

You can also get a "third" entry by getting on the We Love Dolls mailing list, and e-mailing them when there's a doll that you're interested in. However, they only offer what VolksUSA offers. Since VolksUSA won't be offering Chihaya, WLD won't have her either.

Chihaya's confirmed for the one-piece torso, but it's the same internal skeleton as all the other DDS girls. So although the outer vinyl skin is hard-to-find and not sold separately, the internals are replaceable. You can wrangle it out through one of her hip holes if you have to.
