Etsy Seller selling Fake Lovely Dolls

Recommended Posts

crimsoncat

I'm not sure if this is in the right area, so mods please move this if it's in the incorrect place.

For those of you who haven't heard of Lovely Doll, they sell silicon anime-like dolls which a jointless pose-able body. They also sell just the body for those that are interested in hybridizing. I have to admit, I've been thinking about picking up the body for one of my DD girls since they match the skintone. Here's a link to their website and a photo: http://www.atdoll.com/. Here's a link to the posing video:

I was browsing Etsy the other day when I came across this shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BVBox

As you can clearly see, the pictures are the same, the prices are the same and he didn't even bother to remove the watermark.

At first I thought that Lovely Doll might be selling their dolls on Etsy like I know many of us sell clothing. So before I jumped the gun, I contacted them at their english email. I received this reply.

Dear [crimsoncat],

Thank you for your email.

It is not a legitimate seller of my product.

Thank you again

Lovely Doll

I have reported the shop to Etsy and sent Lovely Doll a email on how to contact Etsy officials. This post has three purposes. One: To let you know about these cool bodies you could hybrid your DD with. Two: To remind you to be aware of fakes. Three: To ask what other measures I should take in this situation?

I think you've done all you can. It's up to atdoll and Etsy to try and take the listing down.

I purchased my LovelyDoll body about a year and a half ago for a Soom Gena head I had. I bought it on the official eBay site, jeeryama.

Speaking of eBay, some time ago I got a counterfeit camera accessory for my Nikon D7000. I contacted eBay and the seller (whose listing stated it was authentic) but neither seemed to care because nothing was done. Which reminded me of a retail store I worked in years ago. We got a counterfeit $50 bill. We contacted the FBI and the bank where we had our account and same thing; no one cared, nothing was done about it.

It's frustrating because you hear all these public service announcements about getting involved and helping to stop crime and counterfeiting and when you do your part...yup, no one in authority cares.

Well, at least you tried to help, and do the right thing, so be proud of yourself for that

Yes, it seems as though the items were taken down. I'm glad.

Though I'm also going to be honest and say I do not recommend getting the body. Silicone in general is SO annoying. I used to have one, and every single thing ever stuck to her. Hair, dust, freaking atomic particles.

You have to keep it baby powdered or else it's just a nightmare. Also, they don't pose that great and can't even stand... I kept the doll for a bit and played with her a bit, but in the end she wasn't worth it. So I found her a better home (Though I don't think the new owner liked it much either >.<)
