Box Opening of Alessa(Sakura Honya OOAK Head)

School and sickness took some of my time, but now I've finally uploaded the first pictures of my Sakura Honya girl. She's bodyless right now, together with my Sirius. Buying multiple dolls this close to each other is pretty tight on the wallet... For those who don't know what Sakura Honya is; they're a YJA seller that makes clothes and such for dolls. They also make resin head that are often one of a kind. My girl is one of these OOAK head.

 

Her head is made of resin and are smaller than standard DD heads(she's even smaller than my OOB Custom Luka!). Her eyes are approx size 18mm, since my Azone Kanojo Doll's eyes fits perfectly in her eyesockets. I've yet to try a 7-8 wig on her to see her wig size, but I'm guessing she's an 8. But strangely she fits on a DDdy body(if you're not that picky about more realistic body proportions). I'm planning on getting her a DDdy body and changing her wig and eyes. I'll try to take some photos with her on a body later.

At least she isn't as heavily glued as some DDs. The eyes were really easy to remove.

 

She doesn't have any kind of system to keep the head in place. No magnet holes or anything like that...

 

 

The eyes are pretty cheapily made, but you barely notice that when they're in her eyesockets.

 

Conclusion: I really like the style of their head and face-up. They've cheapen out on some stuff that I find annoying, like not adding holes to glue magnets into and the eyes. The wig she comes with is of good quality, but sadly the eyes aren't. I wouldn't recommend Sakura Honya's heads to those who like the more unrealistic anime proportions, since these heads are much smaller than standard DDs. I'll try to upload compare pictures later between her, my OOB head and DD heads!

And thanks for the review! I don't think I'd buy from them, bit it's nice to know how they work as a sculptor /seller ^-^

I remember seeing a tutorial once (a video?) on how to put magnets on Obitsu headbacks/heads. Basically, you just use some epoxy or something to make a space where the magnet will go on both inside of the head and inside of headcap. Perhaps you could look for it ^_^
