Volks Restock Speed

I want to begin on my first DD project and I see that the DDH-01 head out out of stock on both Volks USA and JP sites. I'm wondering if the restock speed is decent or if it would make more sense to order Rena, then just remove her face up.

 

Or is there somewhere else I can get a DDH-01 head without markup?

Maybe a little closer in price because I was looking at the 27000 JPY MDD III base. It's still definitely lower to get the individual pieces... I'm so impatient though xD

 

Another question... how difficult would it be to remove closed eyes if I were to get the closed eye version?

It's not too hard to open a closed-eye head- it's really clear where to cut because of the sculpt, and the vinyl is pretty thin. You just need to cut very carefully with something like and x-acto knife, then carve and sand the edges until they are smooth. I find small needle files are super helpful with that part, but you also need high numbered sand paper (like 300 and up) to finish off the edges smooth enough to paint.

If that doesn't sound too intimidating, you should give it a shot!

That doesn't sound too difficult at all and aside from the needle files I already have everything I'd need. Volks USA has some semi-white closed eye DDH-01 heads but it doesn't look like you can buy a semi-white body so I'm still kinda screwed...

They restocked some bodies on Friday morning (GMT), I was lucky to get one because when I looked later that day they were sold out again

I've been waiting for NS DDIII feet and arms for months too, just finally bought SW arms and white feet, since they'll always be covered anyway. I'll replace them when able, but I just wanted to complete my girl. ;.;

I ended up switching to a DDS Semi-White ordered part-by-part just to get started... I couldn't wait either ><

My girl is a DD I I with DDS arms haha. It works out though since pose ability is better

Volks just restocked normal skin DD3 arms and feet.
