#29 of 30, Marya (Or Maya between mates..)

This time around its a bit of an interesting turn of events, as I go about the first of two new arrivals that came in last friday.

 

What makes both somewath special was their new and unopened status.

 

First of the two is a grand old lady from the days when Volks had their own original concept dolls, namel the Lost angels story series, and Marya, or Maya as I decided to call her (Since I already have a Maria in house), is the last of this breed.

Like Sanjie, Ragla, and Shino before Marya is a faithfull scale up from the 1/6 dollfie version, inverted crosses included.

 

This combined with the china-dress, vickers robe hybrid outfit does give her a bit of a intimidating dark priestess look.

As a release exercise Marya is an interesting footnote in Volks history, because the doll is a white skin body of all things, and all black outfit and wig... and yet they threw in a full body stocking to protect the body from staining -- So they haven't always been morons about this.

 

So this was not really a new invention for them with Miku, but never ever as a included freebie after this one.

Naturally using the bodysuit, you lose all cleavage effects, but overall a small price to pay for the extra protection, added to washing the lace bits.

One feature that I personally like a lot is the hime-cut wig that's actually a short bob at the back.

Overall dragged out of her box after many years slumber Marya doesnt seem that outdated compared to more recent arrivals. Actually I think Volks paid a bit more attention to the Lost angels girls faceups than recent efforts in general, and the teethy smile found on Shino is also present here.

The only cheap feeling thing about the set is the basic plastic pumps, which seem a bit dissapointing, since the same type of high heeled slippers the original Mirai and Candy had would have been more appropreate. Since I was using the body stocking I replaced the basic heels with army boots, which I think give the girl that little extra cheekyness.

Out of the day's auctions where she came from to my posession, she was not my first choise, if im honest.

but I had always considered getting one, and as my primary choices turned into pure unobtanioum, or just not worth the price, Marya was a pretty good third option, more rare too apparently.

So.. after paying perhaps a little more than I'd wanted for one doll... the natural turn of events is to go back and properly over-reach myself... and this time the lady in question had a boomstick..

She is certainly a dark princess , and you really don't see a lot of her floating around. The body stocking is a nice gesture haha, too bad they don't do that anymore

mmm, its pretty interesting, since during Marya's release they made a bit of a bigger deal about it, how it will protect the doll and everything... wouldnt have hurt to make it a separate purchase item in general to be honest... but I suppose selling spare body pieces is more lucrative...if only they sold all white skin bits that is.

i only got into dds the last few years but wow this is like looking at dolly history! never seen her before, love her so much! congrats!
