DD Plans and Hopes: 2017!

I only have 3 points open for this year:

 

1. Wait for Volks to release standard tan parts and get Kanu a new DDdyIII body.

 

2. Be ready to get a new girl if Volks gets new interesting licenses. In case that Volks doesn't deliver, I'll make a custom Oni girl.

 

3. Spoil my girls with new eyes, wigs and outfits.

 

2017 is going to be as expensive as 2016, if not worse xD

My DD Plans for 2017 are as follows:

 

1. Get Mai(she's a MDD, but just a floating head for now!) a MDD 3 body, cuz' she having a hissy fit now about not having a body yet!

 

2. Get SmartDoll Harmony & Crimson

 

3. Hopefully, get Len Kagamine

 

4. Buy more clothes & shoes for my growing doll family

 

Update:

 

Number 1 has been fulfilled! Mai is finally complete. And is happy about it!

Number 2 has been 1/2 way fulfilled!

I have not been here in a long time... but I hope to finally get second DD in 2017. I would love to get Yukino or Mariko, but first I need to finish off some of my resin dolls and then there is my brother's wedding in summer, so perhaps towards the end of the year, as a birthday gift to myself.

I would also like more option hands, especially the peace hands, and more Volks outfits that fit the DDdy body for my Tomoyo (DDdy Miko).

 

I recently refreshed Tomoyo's look, as per my avatar and I feel she needs equally cute friend.

I'm hoping to finally freaking move this year, so no new dolls for me(If I can help it.) But I want that to force me to finish the ones I already have. The number one thing I want to do this year is finish Kaito's outfit. I was AWFUL about that this year. Well, mainly because I'm awful at sewing clothes. That didn't really change much, sadly. So many straight lines that I can't do. Being self-taught in sewing is suffering sometimes lol.

 

After that, Miles needs the outfit he was designed to have too. Luckily his is much easier. On purpose. I didn't give him anything that was too far out of my skillset.

 

I also just took in a DDH-01 in need of some TLC, so I want to get that head fixed up and ready to go. It'll have to share a body with Miles for a while though. So there's all the planning that goes along with that...So that's another thing I want to do this year, figure out my first rotation schedule for those two.

My plans for 2017!

 

1) Become active in the DD/BJD community again. Last year was a pretty rough year for me & really put a big toll on my emotional & financial state causing me to take a pretty big step back from pretty much everything that wasn't my family or my job. So this year I wanna bring some of that back to my dollies!

 

2) Finally get bodies for Anikka(My SWS Lucy) & Aya(My DDH-01)

 

3)Maybe get a new faceup for Aya?

 

4) Get a new girl off my wishlist!

- Focus on sewing for my DD/BJD girls

- Make more custom doll hair ornaments

- Find another SWS DDIII body

- Take more pictures and try to improve my camera skills

- Join a Taobao group order for the first time

Working on a new wig for Error atm. then will make El's new wig. and then a mix of maintaining the all and getting items they need.

-saving up for body and eyes

- Focus on making things for the girls I already have and developing their characters further.

 

- Re-paint/improve multiple doll props I've gotten (I have a lot of the "Our Generation" props from Target and I love them, but some could use a little work).

 

- Try not to develop carpal tunnel syndrome in the midst of all of this crafting + what I normally do for work

 

- Become more active in the community...? I want to get to know more doll enthusiasts.

Saving up for a body and head!

2016 passed by so quickly for me! I kept meaning to write something in the 2016 thread, but I put it off for too long~ So let's start here!

 

♥Save up for Anastasia

Since I ordered through Volks USA I have a year & change to save up for my part of Anastasia (head+body). That has already started hurray!

 

♥Update Database

My doll database is sooo out of date now. I'm up to 14 girls now and have only dobleepented like half of them. I need to take more photos and redo everything.

 

♥Upload/Take Photos

I have just been enjoying playing with my dolls on my own so photos have taken a backseat. And then I have the photos I have actually taken, but have not uploaded. So I need to do a photo dump of those exisiting photos and take new ones.

 

♥Etcetera

Slowly get face-ups for girls I always wanted to redo. Find deals and aquire them if possible. And maybe make a video again, but I'm quite lazy about that haha. Also need to make some new doll cards to hand out to people I meet.

 

So these are the things that come to mind when thinking about this topic. I suspect only half the things will get done haha.

1. Priority - Get bodies for Sage and Clove.

 

2. Buy Sage's wig once she has her body.

 

3. Buy more chairs for the girls to sit on and find somewhere to put the new chairs.

 

4. Get around to removing the stains from Poppy's body.

 

5. Maybe get Len.

 

6. Take pictures of everyone and update my database thread with new pictures.

 

Very early update:

 

1. Is Completed! Thanks, Mandarake!

 

2. and 3. Will have to wait. She can use a temp wig in the meantime.

4. I can start on in Spring when there is more Sun.

5. Definitely not happening.

6. Will be worked on once Sage has her proper wig.

Some of these will be crossing over from last year.

Well, last year my goal was to get a Dollfie Dream Miku, but then I swam in the waters a bit more (Ok more like a lot.) and decided she can wait. Still don't have a complete Dollfie, but I'm hoping to put her together in this upcoming year. At the moment I have eyes that I purchased earlier this year and it's not too big of a jump, but it's better than no progress, right?

 

Half year check in. So far, I have yet to piece together a Dollfie. Almost bought a head earlier this month, but decided against it and I'm glad I did with the recent unveiling of the Kagamines! Currently waiting for more details on them.

 

Well... Got a whole lot further than I intended at the last week of 2016 Found an Akira fullset on Mandarake RIGHT before I was going to order my 09's body and well... Couldn't exactly pass her up as the prices were so close and she was so adorable... so my 09 is still floating in my drawer.

 

So, this year's plans are as followed (In order of importance):

 

>Fix and reinforce Rika (The internal frame broke in some parts, so I have to replace that. And get Coolcat reinforcements so nothing else needs to be replaced for a while. Also stain treat her as she has some on her legs...)

 

>Acquire the long lusted Miku and pray to God nobody else pops up. Ahhhh yes, the one who brought me here to this hobby is back on the drawing board. Decided to stick her as priority over my project because not only have I lusted after her for longer BUT I've been into Vocaloids waaaaay longer. Pretty sure this one is going to take the whole year to save for but well, gotta start somewhere right? (Plus it took me 2-3 years to acquire Akira so 1 isn't gonna kill me, I don't think.)

 

>More clothes and new eyes for Rika

 

>An actual body for my floater along with faceup, wig and clothes. Obi60. Not too high on my priority list as Miku has been on my WL for a while and I'd like her to come next.

I could have sworn I made one for 2016 but lmao oh well things happen

 

2016 wasn't too good for me tbh. Sure there were instances such as finally completing Nyx's grandmaster stasisand getting my DD Miku after she's evaded me for so long, but point stands that I've been surprisingly kinda feeling out of it with the DD Hobby and I'm hoping 2017 is gonna change this!

 

 

→ Overhaul most of my chars. Save for Nyx and Senka, who thankfully retained their characters and I still hold very, very close to me (perhaps due to their involvement in ARPGs I've invested in last year) most of girls have been very 'silent' with me , and so I feel like a major overhaul in their character is needed in hopes that they grow back to me.

 

→ Get Senka's & Nyx's Reos AU outfits done In relation to ARPG's, there's one I hold dear and it's World of Reos, and I've used two of my girls as companions to the creatures that reside in it!

 

Senka has a very specific outfit I used for her, and I would love to get it done for her doll form! Perhaps after some refinement though as I'm still kind of 50/50 with the design now as it is.

 

Nyx....Nyx will take a while as I'm still not set on her outfit, although I'm 100% sure that I'm going for a middle eastern royalty vibe with her as she's more of a royal adviser in this game

 

→ Develop Sora more My darling Miku has been home with me for half a year but while I have the basic gist of her personality down, I'm not quite satisfied with what I have for her and really want to explore with her some more. Which is a shame because she's arguably the most photographed doll in the latter half of 2016 for me ahah.

 

 

→ Make Jeanne D' Arc Alter I actually don't really intend to get a full new doll this year, as after Sora's arrival I don't have this urge to get more girls unless it's super specific sculpts. Even for OC purposes I don't intend to shell everyone as my primary focus has always been towards Senka and Nyx.

 

Jeanne Alter is kind of an exception though because I've been wanting a Jeanne doll for the longest time and because I'm 110% volks isn't gonna throw one in our face anytime soon it's about time I take matters in my own hands. She's is most likely going to be a floating head that will be sharing Sora's body for the most part anyway because lol what is space.

 

Probably going to be a long project, but this will tie in with my ability to 3d model! Been learning how to do it as of late and hopefully I'll get to a point where I can say I can model Jeanne's armor without much problems!

 

→ Be more active in this community in general...Probably hard because I shift through so many circles as it is with what little attention span I had lmao (between mobages, arpg's and local doll squad as it is), but I really think I should be a little more open and talk to a lot more people in this community more!

 

→ Take more photographs The biggest punt in the face for me was the fact I barely took enough photos last year to satisfy myself, which I'm not comfortable with. Granted it was also due being busy in general and my old camera reaching the end of its life and I needed a new replacement, still I wish I could get back to doing that. Perhaps gonna try doing baby steps first before I do more daring photo ideas I have in my head, and maybe work into getting photos that have bits of my girl's personality shining through.

My plans for 2017....

 

Highest Priority:

- Start and complete my DDS Princess Peach project. I need to buy an 06 and a standard DDS with M bust. Get head painted. Need to find someone to commission her dress.

- Get my DDH-10 painted as custom Kirima Sharo from Gochiusa.

- Buy a DDP body for the DDH-10 Sharo if it comes out this year.

- Start shifting towards spending more money on outfits rather than dolls.

 

Lower Priority:

- Start trying to give all of my girls a unique style.

- Buy more hands for NS and SW DD and MDDs.

 

Things that weren't on my list but happened anyway....

- Bought DDS Kagamine Rin from a friend that needed to sell some dolls to make ends meet.

- Bought MDD Arle Nadja with part of my tax refund.

 

Dolls that aren't DD:

- Finish paying off Xaga Doll Ximigo Layaway. [DONE]

- Get Ximigo head painted when she arrives as Cyan from Show By Rock!!

I am wanting to remake Rin from Sailor Moon into MDD size now that they have the MDD 3 body. I have a #4 head. Now just to wait to get a MDD3 body for her.

 

Get the pink/white dress from Volks 2017 collection.

Try to get more dresses for her in favorite colors, find shoes that fit etc.

 

Learn to knit better for that size.

Learn to crochet clothes.

I hope to get my first ever Dollfie Dream! I'm planning on trying to get a Miku from the event they are doing next month.

 

Of course, I want to learn how to sew for her and hopefully figure out how to knit for her as well. I think the knitting will go easier than the learning how to sew part, but we will see. I also want to get a tiny crochet hook so I can make tiny granny square blankets for her too.

I wish to get my act in order! We've just recovered from selling/moving house, so I'm getting my Rose (DD3 Yukino v 2) (sweetness and light and fluffy bunnies) and Miki (DD3 Aoi v 2) (don't mess with Miki in a dark alley, SRSLY) out of the bins, where they were safe in the chaos. I'm thinking of adding another sib--but I can't decide between a Volks DD3 Candy or a Smart Doll Kizuna Yumeno (Milk). I love the DD Standards, because there's no backstory or attached character and they're easily replaced if utterly necessary. I know the DD3 body/skeleton/etc very well so few ugly surprises, they pose just about any way I ask them to, and I have have mounds of fitted clothing, most of which I made. The Smart Dolls, however, are Sofa King gorgeous, and I love Kizuna (she's some kind of character, yeah? I'm not into anime at all, y'all), and everyone's owner pics are just luscious. But Candy's luscious too! And I can only afford ONE DOLL right now. Soooo yeah. That's where I am at the moment.

@charlieriley don't worry, I will totally end up sharing my knitting! I have some ideas for scarves, but I really want to wait for her to get here so I can get the scale right. I really want to make her a Dr Who scarf, but I really should make myself one first. Plus there are some really easy scarf patterns that will be easy to knit to doll size.

- Get my DH007 head back from customisation for Tahquil.

- Begin creating custom outfits for Tahquil (and potentially for other dolls as well).

My goal is to save up for an Asuna - I mean to get one by hook or by crook! I'm very set on getting what I want, hehe. Asuna is one of my all-time favorite anime characters and it would mean so much to have her by my side.

 

I also want to learn more about vinyl dolls and be able to take care of them as well as I do with my resin BJDs.

Once again I'm late to this kind of post xDD

~ Customize my SWH-07 (Ziizar)

~ Get a DDS body SW skin S bust one piece torso for Ziizar

~ Get a M.O.M.O head to customize Josephine... Finally I decided to go for Erica

~ Send Josephine head to customize

~ Get a DDS body N skin M bust one piece torso for Josephine.

~ Get at least 3 pairs of green eyes (Right now I've the miku ones on her way to me :3)

~ Get 2 wigs for every girl

~ Get 2 pairs of shoes for every girl

 

Im still lacking shoes for my girls D:, but apart from that I did it all, and now I have my 3 beautiful girls at home.

 

For this year I'd like to:

 

~ Take more photos of my girls and actually do a a post in the database for them e____e

~ BUY SHOES Ziizar is been wearing the same for over a year already D:

~ Buy a few more clothes for Ziizar (it kinda feels like I don't love her, but I really do)

~ Do a wig for Ziizar and another for Mariko (so far only Josephine has been getting some xD)

~ I still want to get a second Mariko to customise or my first MDD

~ I would LOVE to get a tan 09 girl, but man, it seems that it'll be easier to find a Tamaki than one of those xD

 

But like most people on this thread I'd like to spend less this year xD
