Azone 50's anyone?

Luluna + Azone furisode + Obitsu katana:

I need to do something about her hair getting all static (but it's very dry inside my apartment).

And Lilia ordered - the one with the big sword; Mandarake lowered the price on her yesterday so I figured I'd jump on that. I can always get a cat maid version later on.

I was also tempted by the cat maid Alice the same Mandarake shop has, but it looks like the previous owner cut her hair, so the head looks bad.

 

Have you guys seen the new Azone Iris Collect Ayane? I definitely love their cute style and I think I prefer the chocolate version of her😍

And Lilia (Stardust Nightmare) received. Her outfit has less p-leather than expected, which is good (also, the bits it has haven't deteriorated yet). OTOH, Mandarake Utsunomiya did not remove the arms before shipping, and I'm lucky the (very cracked) shoulders did not shatter. Her hip joints unfortunately were broken, so Lilia's in the emergency room at the moment😅 and later on she'll go into remedial care for her poor shoulders (zip ties incoming). I also had to tighten her spine as it was floppy (but not broken).

Her boots look like another nightmare to get on: no zips and they cover most of her legs, plus her socks are of the fishnet type. She also includes two eyepatches, one black, one white. Her sword is made from hollow PVC, and since it was not attached to a rigid support it isn't straight anymore. The sword is also almost as long as Lilia is tall (and looks quite like a Berserk Dragon Slayer - now that I think of it, her outfit is also mostly black, plus the eyepatch - stealth genderflipped Guts?).

I'm so curious about these two because my screen has high saturation and brightness, so their makeup looks a little...intense in the promotional photos. I'm dying to see owner photos and hear thoughts on how their makeup looks irl without bright lights highlighting it so much.

Also their outfits are extremely cute as always, but I thought it was kinda weird to have winter outfits in the middle of summer. I feel like a lot of the Iris Collects are very wintery themed, so I was hoping to see cute spring/summer clothes instead (especially if they sell these outfits a la carte like they sometimes do)!

I agree, I was thinking the same about the cheeks:D and I also agree about the clothes, azone seems to like winter clothes the most for some reason

Her boots were indeed a royal pain in the behind to get on (they are waaaaay too tight fitting), and probably won't come off anymore.

This is due to how it is packed in her box. There's nothing to keep it straight and it's on top of her clothes.

She can actually hold it up in the air, but that takes some balancing:

She can also hold her sword over her head (I took a picture of that, but noticed my address was visible on the Mandarake box, so that will follow later)

@Kemonomimicry, your lilia is so pretty!! i'd be too chicken to even put her outfit on though, it being all black 

 

also, i'm super excited myself, i'm soon getting a lilia saint restraint girl in a trade im doing! i was initially planning on headswapping my custom ddh01 chii (chobits) onto her body but after reading the whole thread and seeing all you guys' painted-eye girls i'm kinda tempted to just keep her as her own character

Congrats! A lot of people on the forums seem to not like painted eyes and rooted hair, but imo they have their own charm. Hope you enjoy your Lilia, she’s super cute and one I was interested in getting when I first got into big dolls.

They're fine, but don't meet the on-topic guidelines. As long as they are in off-topic they're perfectly welcome. 

The guidelines for Obitsu only require vinyl with an internal frame, so Obitsu and rebranded Obitsu with painted eyes and rooted hair should be ok in the Obitsu section.

I meant more the comments I see from time to time explicitly stating they don’t like Azone’s on-topic offerings because the eyes are painted or the hair is rooted or whatever. I think it’s a bit silly to write off features like this that most dolls in general have, but the hobby is plagued by this kind of weird elitism, and I collect all kinds of dolls in all kinds of sizes so maybe I just don’t get it 🤷‍♀️

Agreed here. Painted eyes aren't too popular, but they have an exactness that keeps them more faithful to the anime look.

Sadly, they too seem to be moving away from this and have mostly stopped releasing 1/3 character dolls. 

This blog has a long running series of posts featuring Lilia. It can get playful at times, but it shows how much charm there is in these Azone girls.

I think that was mostly added to exclude Barbie dolls and other dolls aimed primarily at young children. Nothing wrong with Barbies either, the limited collections are pretty neat, but we didn't want kids being drawn to a forum that has things like the AP photo thread and some pretty risqué photos. 

i admittedly am usually not a big fan of painted eyes and rooted hair (excluding my pure neemos) but i would feel bad having her head just sit in a drawer unused 🥺 i want to give her a chance!! and maybe i'll enjoy her look more than i think

I like painted eyes ok, the main issue I have is that they don't fit in with the rest of my dolls 😕

and yeah, i'm a bit worried about mine not fitting in with my dolls as well. well just have to wait and see! she was/is supposed to arrive today, but was never scanned into my town's post office this morning so even though it still says it'll be delivered today i'm pretty sure we're looking at tomorrow instead 😔

Asking here because I can't seem to find any answer online, does anyone has the measurements of the AZO2 body ? One of my friends is eyeing a Kano and want a custom outfit made but we had no luck finding the measurements 🤔
