I'm aware of Volks, TinyFox and CJ, but what else is out there?? I bet there are a lot! (Or at least I hope so.) I have primarily resin, 2 of another co, and a TINYFOX ON THE WAY!! 😄😄😄  There must be more out there? I mostly know resin companies. :)

Obitsu/Parabox (i'm not clear on the exact link but they're closely associated companies) is one of the longtime players in the asian customizable vinyl doll hobby, their 1/6  dolls filled the same 'customizable anime doll' niche as Volks' original 1/6 Dollfies did during the 90s/00s and their 1/3 (60cm) Obitsus were the most prominent customizable 1/3 anime dolls besides Dollfie Dream for a while before CJ came on the scene. There are now a ton of different sizes of vinyl dolls available from them in both anime and semi-realistic styles, in a wide array of options from totally blank to pre painted in many styles or sold as full sets. You can check them out here.

They also provide the internal frames used for some of Azone's dolls. Azone is another maker of anime styled vinyl dolls in several scales, usually sold as fullsets, often of licensed characters.

(The same frames are also used by Angel Philia/VMF for their own releases, which I'm not keen on so I won't go into much detail, but those are also something that exists as an option especially if you like dolls on the erotic side or with very exaggerated bust shapes, and there are threads here about them as well.)

Obitsu is a plastic manufacturer. They make the bodies and skeletons for other companies (like those mentioned by @ebil), but they also have their own lines of dolls in various scales.

Azone is probably one of the biggest vinyl doll companies outside of Volks. They make dolls in various scales and often do collaborations with existing anime IPs, but they also have several very popular original series.

Dollce is famous for their 1/12 Mini Sweets line, but they have some very cute 1/3 heads available, and are also coming out with a 1/6 line soon. They are also known for having a large selection of wigs in many colours and sizes.

Parabox has a very DIY feel to it (more so than the companies above, which also encourage you to customize/build your own doll), offering all kinds of bodies, body parts and unique heads.

Quarantotto (Angelphilia/VMF50) only does 48cm and 50cm erotic dolls having more mature/realistic faces. I’m not crazy about them either, but they have a large following on this forum so you can easily get answers to any questions you might have about them.

AFAIK these are all of the major players (in Japan, at least). All of the above companies use the Obitsu frame, but some have proprietary sculpts that Obitsu manufactures only for them.

There’s also Dollbot now too! They’re pretty new, there’s a thread on them here: https://www.dolldreaming.com/topic/20044-dollbot-review-with-mdd-comparison/
The bjd company Fairyland also have a vinyl line called Anifee, which gets released through the japanese figure hobby site Amiami. They are 1/4 scale but a little more mature proportions (ie like their Minifee line). However the heads are resin. They have also only released three characters so far and haven’t done another in a while.

Apparently tinyfox aren’t technically vinyl but some other harder plastic with a soft finish added, but they seem to have a similar internal structure to other vinyl dolls.

Thank you @ebil, @ragnamuffin and @Monty!  I'm learning so much! For a long time I only stuck to resin because it was nice to have a place to share them (DoA) but now I'm learning all the joys of other dolls! And it's wonderful to have a place to share them, too!

Dollbot

these guys are worth keeping an eye on, but at the moment they dont really have anything to sell, except internal bits and the fair skin head. which is a bit of a shame.

they quoted vinyl shell production problems in some recent update, so just hope its just a momentary blip.

A Chinese company/artist called "Real Doomsday" sold 1/3 vinyl anime head blind boxes recently! There's only 2 heads so far but they said they plan to make more.

Imomodoll also has made 1/6 Vinyl dolls with plans to make 1/4 as well, though I'm not sure yet if their bodies are really in the same category as Dollfie Dreams. They might be more similar to Tinyfox?
