EDIT: I wasn't able to get any pictures due to the angle, but she does appear to have these slits as well, so hopefully it is intentional.

Updating info

I'm not so sure, that looks more like just regular old cracks in the vinyl to me. I think one or two of mine also have it a bit, the older heads don't. I thought it just had to do with the usual quality problems that Imomo tends to have.

No cracks here, but I only have the 1/6 size heads. The face molds are Dia-a, Hack-a and Toppa if that's any help

I appreciate the feedback!! Kinda bummed he came like this brand new but I can fix it so I guess no worries there. 

Now to figure out how to keep his head more secure!

I took a chance on the newest version of the Imomodoll 1/6 body and I admit I wasn't expecting it to feel this... different? It's still not perfect, but definitely improved in a lot of ways.

(pardon the crowded desk lmao... new body on the left, old body on the right)

Most of the improvements are more noticeable in hand than in pictures

• Feels heavier
• Squishier and softer vinyl parts
• Hands and feet are easier to swap (but still fit snugly)
• Better range of motion in the legs (knees can come closer together)
• Skeleton is MUCH tighter and sturdier
• Better balance

The improved arm articulation was actually why I bothered picking one of these up, but... meh. Engaging the double joint requires kind of an unusual amount of force, and it sort of clicks into place... I actually thought I broke mine when I first did it. The arms also don't really hold their poses that well once the double joint is engaged... they like to drift down to about 90 degrees anyways.

Overall definitely a huge improvement though, I'm glad I got one! I'm really hoping they make the same improvements to their 1/4 bodies eventually 😭

The arms still need some improvements but the legs are leagues better! More stable, flexible, and better sculpted over all. Here is a comparison to winter melon using two TF heads, the lighter being an angel generation head (C-15) and the tan being the old generation of TF 1/6 heads (C-10).

Oh! Hehe these are custom mods the seller on XY provided. They normally only have human feet, but both animal and human hands.     (´｡• ᵕ •｡`) ♡

Omg for some reason my brain accepted the hands must be mods but the feet weren't lol! They're very cute regardless.

Personally I never had much problems with the 1/6 bodies, because I prefer them to be a bit more stable/stiff compared to how wobbly their 1/4 bodies have been for me.

But esp the improved poseability on the legs is quite impressive. I'm sad to see that they made the legs a bit less chubby, but it is still quite cute.

Finally grabbed a Corvus head that was on sale for real cheap, and it was really pleasant to paint on. I'd still like to do an Imomodoll head with a mouth mod eventually, but this one is for a resin body I have coming. This sculpt is so good for a tired, dreamy sort of look. Also, did Imomodoll change their eye holes at some point or is it just different sculpts? I saw people saying 18 to 20 mm, but 16 was kind of a firm fit in Corvus. Maybe they meant for rounded eyes?

 

Also the lid is way hard to get off of her, especially when I've been having some wrist problems lately. 😿I saw Kimdoll say on XHS they're switching their vinyl heads to have a sort of lock-in notch instead of a plug. I think it would be nice if Imomodoll did the same in the future. For now, I'll just have to menace her with a butter knife every time I open her head up. 😅

They discontinued a bunch of them, probably because iirc they had some issues with their designer sharing the molds with other companies without permission(?)

Look into the Topener (portmanteau of ‘top opener’) by Asachanchi. He engineered a device to easily open the heads of 1/6 TinyFoxes, but it supposedly works with bigger dolls too. I preordered one recently and will report back once I receive it.

Finally had my new bodies for these two Imomo boys arriving, they have been rehomed to the new UFdoll chubby 1/4 body.

Finally not a wobbly mess anymore, I sadly really didn't enjoy handling them. Hopefully that will give me motivation to take pictures of them more often. (I also noticed that my household has a shortage on 1/4 shoes for Fuuta, oops.)

Awh, Imomos are so cute! I have a 1/4 one but the faceup is my first attempt so it's.. something .. 😅

Maybe I'll take a photo someday anyway. I'm curious though if the Lucifer head would look good on a girl body 1/4.. I've been tempted to buy it to see.

New Mimi Dog 2.0 and variants got posted on the Imomodoll XHS. They're so cute but sadly they say they said in the comments that they don't currently have plans to release them in Chocolate. I'd been waiting for the new Mimi Dog to get it in chocolate so I hope maybe next year they'll add that color.

I really hope these new bodies have at least some of the same changes that their 1/6 bodies had... especially the leg stability and softer vinyl.

I'm so excited for the new imomo mjd bodies as I've always liked the sculpts but they were just too flimsy for me. From the videos I've seen on xhs they look to be super sturdy now and the shells are squishy too! Heard some might drop in august so we will see, looking forward to seeing reviews.

 

Oh damn it, haha. If they really turn out to be so much better I might upgrade my Imomo boy as well.
