3d Pen Accessories?

Recommended Posts

PlasticJester

Hey yall! I just got a 3d pen recently, and I'm hoping to use it to make accessories for my dolls! I already made a ring for a resin 1/4 doll, and I'm trying to craft a pair of horns with it...anyone else have/used a 3d pen or have some ideas?

I'm curious about this as well! I have a 3d pen I haven't used in a while but you've inspired me to pull it out of storage and think of some tiny props I could make. I'm especially thinking about some scale furniture, there was a mushroom I had made with it that I think I could repurpose into a little seat for a 1/12 doll.

Did you have any luck with the horns?

I've managed to make some small ones using a tin foil base and sculpting on top of them, but I really need to get something to better heat-treat them smooth...I know some people use soldering tools for it? I also made a temporary TV head for one of my resin dolls!

I have a very tiny iron that I use to smooth things out! Mine doesn't seem to have a brand on it but there's a mini iron by clover that looks very similar, I'm sure it works the same. I'm by no means an expert on operating it though, there's two settings, the first one takes a long time to get things smooth and the hotter of the two burned some of my first creations x_x

The TV head sounds way cool, I think using a 3D pen is perfect for that kind of application since the plastic is way lighter than any other sculpting options.

Thank you! I'll post a pic of it in a little bit. The bottom of it is a bit wobbly since I just taped cardboard to it so I could still get inside it, I need to engineer a way to make it more stable. But making a tv/box is pretty easy if you make a paper pattern with glass covering it and then put the pieces together afterwards! I've made a few rings and bracelets for my dolls too, but they're pretty wobbly looking, so I only have one on a doll atm.
