Custom DDH-06 Rin

Hey y’all ! there’s a vocaloid themed con at the end of September i’m attending with my partner so I decided to finally give my custom Miku a beloved Rin! I’m planning to make both of their eyes in the future so she’s just wearing a cute stand in pair bc it weirdly helps me paint / put faceups together ^_^.

We had the same thought! I'm going to be making my own version of Miku, Rin, and Len as well! The official ones are cute, but they don't quite fit my vision of the characters, if that makes sense? I like the lips on your Rin, they're really soft, and your lines are really clean!

Thank you so much! I’m actually redoing my Miku with a DDH-06 instead because I want them to resemble each other the way their default art style does ! I totally agree, I just buy their full sets whenever I come across them, their necessary bodies/whatever sculpt I think fits best, and then tada! My rendition of them is born lol. xD

a vocaloid con sounds so fun! i she’s so expressive and i love what you did with the whites around the eyes 🤩 can’t wait to see more!

My plan is also to make a DDH-06 Miku, how fun! I'm planning to make mine a DDS, and eventually the twins into DDP.

omg we’re twinning!! i was gonna do the exact same plan and still kind of am just not with the vocaloids lol.

I just ordered a DDH-06 for my custom Miku! Can I asked how it went? Did you do any sanding to the vinyl?

Your comment reminded me this forum exists omg 😭 I actually became a Smart Doll collector instead and just did Rin and Miku for Christmas !

oh my gosh they are so stinking cute!! thanks for the photo!! no worries lol- how is smart doll collecting compared to dollfie dreams? I've always wanted one but have been worried abt the increased tariffs

thank you!! I honestly love it way more! There’s so much more accessibility, diversity, and sculpts to choose from. I also really love that there’s Semi-Real  and Anime sculpts, definitely fuels a lot of creativity! I’d definitely recommend keeping an eye out on SmD facebook groups, tons of good deals and really nice people. ^^ 

My fave SmD (and most compelling lol) thing is the newer peach bodies, they’re made entirely of soft vinyl which allows tons of articulation— something I really struggled with when I owned Dollfies T_T. They got loose pretty quickly esp with the kind of posing I was trying to do. 

Another great thing is that the milk skin tone is back so any flesh DD heads you might not wanna let go of can just be hybridized with an SmD body !

The peach body is sooo cute!! I love that they look like a real person. One day I'd love to own one.
