I'm Maridah. Some of us might know each other from figure.fm. It's made a number of us DD owners.

 

I have just one right now- a custom face-up of a DDH-01 I've named Madhuri

I'm in the lotto for Beatrice, so I'm hoping to expand my collection already ^_^

 

I sew as a hobby, so I've made some outfits for Madhuri. This is the best part of DD ownership IMO. I'm having fun making things at this scale.

Welcome aboard! I just saw your posting for Madhuri over on Figurefm and she is excellent! I love seeing more 01 head sculpt girls. And it's great you make your own clothes! I recently tried itout and made one shirt. And that took forever! I have lots of praise for anyone who can sew for their girls, it's a great thing to be able to do!

 

I'm glad you found your way over here as it's a great place for knowledge and help on DD's. You'll see quite a few familiar names here that also post on Figurefm.

Welcome, Maridah! Madhuri is such a pretty young lady. I can't wait to see more of her! Custom 01 heads are rare nowadays. Madhuri's head mold is beautifully made.

I just wanted to add to your assessment of this forum.

 

I have been in quite a few collecting circles before ( vintage Star Wars toys, coins, swords ) and the community here in the Dollfie world is the BEST I have seen. There was so much backstabbing and two faced action in the Star Wars hobby, it drove me crazy. Coins were similar. Don't even get me started on the attitudes in the sword realm...

 

Anyways, my point is that so far in my short time as a DD owner, any and all questions I ever had have been met with the same attitude as above. There's no shortage of helpful and knowledgeable people in this hobby and DD parents are almost ALWAYS happy to help a fellow parent out.

 

I am so glad I got into this when I did. I have lots of friends around this hobby now and I appreciate everything they have done for me and my daughters. You know who you are and I thank you!

I've actually already picked up a second musume from Volks this weekend. I couldn't pass her up even though I really had not planned to get another DD so soon. She's the very cute & shy blushing faceup of the DDH-02 http://www.dollfiedreams.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=14

They had two heads and two Shapely L bust bodies in stock, so my friends (a couple) and I got ourselves twins. I originally was just accompanying them since they wanted to get their first DD. It was just too good a face-up to not get her, though!

I love that prepainted 02 head, it's simply awesome. Any ideas for a name yet? What wig and eyes did you get or will you be getting for her?
