mod podge for raised scars, staining and etc

hello! another post! a question again, my bad. i was wondering if mod podge scars like here would stain a vinyl body? obitsu to be exact. im considering buying an ob48 and dyeing it to a tan colour myself, potentially swapping out the pieces for angel philia if i get my hands on the them later on. i was wondering what this method would do to a body especially a dyed one? i dont mind if it stains because regardless id like my character to have scars but also i do not know how exactly that would look.

talking about staining, is it possible to purposefully stain lets say the nipples so just putting on paint and washing it away after a bit? to avoid putting msc on top since im nervous about it cracking on a soft body. especially since im getting a soft body specifically to be able to squish.

the body im eyeing i will be buying from dolls.moe for about 200£ + shipping. ive seen them listed as an official seller on obitsus page so decided to go for that. is that a good price? is there anywhere i can get it cheaper second hand even with stains since ill be trying to customise it with my only previous experience being one bjd and one nendo so im nervous of messing it up. might as well mess with an already stained body right?,,

another update, i saw that a parabox 47 + head would be about 140£ with shipping and since it uses the same 48/50 obitsu skeleton the only thing different being the knee joints i might go for that instead as ap should hypothetically still be able to switch around with a parabox

This section is for questions about the forum and its features. Questions about mods for specific brands go either in that brand’s subsection or the Workshop section.

I moved this topic to the Obitsu specific Q&A section.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction.

I have so many dolls that they have formed their own country.

Mod-podge dries clear and is water-based like many other safe materials for customization, so I think it should be ok. The main things you want to avoid is anything oil based like oil paints or oil pastels.

As for staining. Yes. Red, orange-red, and pink soft pastels will stain your doll in a way that is basically impossible to remove, even if you layer a ton of sealant beforehand. I found this out completely on accident. I have stains from past faceups that have persisted for YEARS, despite constantly being wiped with acetone and multiple rounds of acne cream. The pigment seeps a solid cm deep into the vinyl and it ain't going anywhere. Acrylic paint doesn't stain, though.

very interesting, thank you! i will be dyeing my parabox body with rit dyemore the same i previously used on a resin bjd and would like to add blushing afterwards so ill use pastels like you said. i might document my process if im not lazy.
