How to modify the shape of DD eyes? (UV resin, putty, or soldering vinyl bits?)

Hi all! I've been doing customs and commissions for years now, but one thing I've never quite figured out is how to add new material to eyes to reshape them. I tested doing this on the head for my girl Hazel, attempting to create a winking face, but it didn't really work out. I tried the soldering method, but ran into a lot of problems with air bubbles and being unable to smooth it entirely. I'm sure I could get better with practice, but I'm wondering if UV resin might be more consistent? Does anyone have experience with any of these methods? I'd also really appreciate advice on where to find the materials for these methods, as I'm very new to resin and modeling. (´,,•ω•,,)♡

I've used UV resin putty for additive mods - it's not going to have the same longevity as a welded vinyl mod but 3 years later and my faceups are holding up fine so far.
