ragnamuffin Posted August 16 (edited) I mentioned this in the waiting room a while back, but I ordered the all-in set of Meki’s latest release, Fluffy Goodnight (绒绒晚安). They arrived a little less than two weeks ago, and while I showed them off in a couple of Zoom meets, I’ve been meaning to post a writeup while the set is still available for purchase, so here it is. Meki is a relatively new blindbox doll company that released 1/12 sized dolls called Creater’s Essence (sic) and 1/8 sized dolls called Oblivion’s Luminaria. These are the official English names and they really did spell it Creater instead of Creator, but these series are sometimes sold under independently re-translated names you may know like Heart of Creation and Final Blessing. Fluffy Goodnight is their third series of 4x6 dolls—1/4 sized heads on 1/6 sized bodies. Mixing sizes like this seems to be the latest trend. I found this series at the perfect time just before it released, and was able to pick up the all-in set on Taobao right when it became available. So without further ado, here is everything that was included: Big box of six normal versions. Individual box with the hidden/chase character. Bag full of unpainted faceplates, eye chips, animal ears, back of head accessories, plastic washers, combs and mascara wands. Inside the bag was also a special painted faceplate with unique eye chips, animal ears, brown shoes, a random wig and a whole body so you can make an extra 8th doll in addition to the seven that come in this set. How cool is that?! Also pictured are water decals for the unpainted faceplates and eye chips, and magnets of the characters in chibi form. My order also came with these gummy paws. The theme of this series is “fluffy animals”. These guys are also strung BJDs, but their wigs are attached to the headcap, so their hair is technically rooted. They all come with the same hand parts. Unlike the Bonnie 6 dolls, there are no gestures unique to any one doll. Interestingly, they all come with underwear. They’re not particularly well-made, but I found it amusing that these were included when so many doll makers don’t even bother. Spoilering naked doll bodies. Click to see all the characters in this series: Spoiler This is Coco (可可) the mouse. Gogo (果果) the cat. Nana (奈奈) the bear. Fufu (芙芙) the rabbit. Meme (莓莓) the fox(?). The assistant said this one is a “little fox” and the upcoming hanging cards are “big foxes” so maybe this one is meant to be a fennec fox? Fafa (法法) the dog. The hidden character Nini (宁宁) the wolf. Supposedly she’s also a witch? Here’s Chacha (茶茶), the one I cobbled together using the freebies that came with this set. The wig is an MSDoll wig I originally bought for my TinyFoxes because the random wig they sent me with this set was unstyled, and also not the colour I wanted for her. The dress is a Kikipop dress you may have seen in other threads I’ve made. I really regret not picking up more Kikipop clothing while it was still readily available… Meki is known for having beautiful designs and intricate clothing, and unfortunately also for being poor quality. The clothes are definitely intricate and took forever to put on—I actually had to dress them over two days because it was just too much to do in one day. While the dolls themselves are not particularly poor quality (in fact, I was quite impressed with them!), their wigs definitely are. The hair styles are quite intricate, but were poorly cut. Idk if it was just my batch or if they all come like this, but their bangs cover their eyes and the ends of their hair were not trimmed properly. I had to take an entire extra day just to trim and style their hair, which I was not happy about! It was a lot of work and I was exhausted by the end of it. It took me three whole days to get them presentable, and I’m still not entirely satisfied with the way they look, but I’ll try again after I get my hands on some Volks water wax. Why the rush to get them presentable? Because Meki is having a photo contest on XHS/Rednote and the prize is another unique faceplate! With @Tierparkzone’s help, we were able to take some amazing photos and get the required number of likes on my post to enter for the top prize. Assuming I filled out the form properly and all goes well, I should have a 9th one of these coming in the fall 🤞 I can’t share the contest photos themselves, but I can share some behind-the-scenes shots @Tierparkzone took while I was prepping them for the photoshoot, so please enjoy! Fufu in a basket. Fafa playing with a lens I’ve been informed it’s a filter. Chacha saluting the cameraman 🫡 Nana daydreaming. Gogo spacing out. Nini looking a little clueless… Coco scared of heights? Gogo trying to get up on a box? Meme sitting in top of a box. Nana picked up by a giant hooman. For reference, these guys are bigger than Bonnie 6 but smaller than TinyFox. Hard shell or soft shell? ¿Por que no los dos? If you like these dolls, it should still be possible to get the complete all-in set. The sale period is from July 19 to September 2. After that, you can still buy them blind or confirmed, just without all the freebies above. They initially said there wouldn’t be any hanging cards, but Meki recently announced that they had in fact made two hanging cards after all that will go on sale later this month. I plan to pick up both of them, so stay tuned for the update after they arrive! Tam_I_am Posted August 17 (edited) I don't think I could have delt with having to fix dolls after I bought them. ☹️ Edited August 18 by Tam_I_am

If I had more space and hadn’t had the photo contest to worry about, I probably wouldn’t have been nearly as stressed out about them. I’m enjoying them a lot more now that their hair is trimmed and I don’t have to think about the contest anymore. They’re super cute and seeing their derpy little faces brings me joy 🥰 2 Make your own signature like this
Celluery Posted August 17 So many at once! But the photos you and Tierparkzone took are pretty adorable. Couldn't help but smile the whole way through looking at them
Gtv Posted September 4 Oh my lord that's really a lot of dolls😂. (I saw the lost of dolls in your profile and i was like, wow. Truly a doll enthusiast.) They are adorable, but thinking about having to set all them up like that would have overwhelmed me too. You did such a great job though. 1
KagomeStarfire Posted October 19 I’m seriously considering getting one or two of these myself. There are some designs that I’d prefer over others but generally they’re all very precious. The only thing that’s holding me back from ordering them is the commonly known issues with their rooted hair. I’m not sure if I’d be able to style their hair properly. However, that’s probably not going to stop me from ordering at least one of these dolls!

However, that’s probably not going to stop me from ordering at least one of these dolls! Oooh, which ones are you thinking of getting? The rooted headcap is tricky to work with, but it might have just been the first batch that was not great. If yours has wonky hair too, then I recommend using water to brush and restyle them. Water really helps to get out tangles and brush/comb through the hair smoothly (much easier than dry brushing/combing). You can also use Azone Doll Oil Mist, Volks Water Wax and/or a mini flat iron or curler at 120 degrees Celsius to style them. I’m still too chicken to properly trim and thin out their bangs, but you can get them presentable by using these tips and tricks. I’ve also found using a dedicated mascara wand and toothbrush really helps to fix the tiny details. I was actually planning to post about the two hanging cards I ordered back in August that finally arrived last week. Since double posting is kinda frowned upon, I’ll just add the review onto the end of this post. Meki has two Taobao stores, and the shipping at their Heart of Creation store was kind of insane, so I placed the order for these two at their enterprise store at the end of August. They were scheduled to ship by October 20, but ended up shipping early on the 8th and arrived by the 15th. The shipping was so cheap at the enterprise store that I was worried they would be refused by the export warehouse and my order would be cancelled. Something like this has happened in the past and I didn’t want to risk missing out on these two, so I actually ended up ordering a second pair from the Heart of Creation store (even with the insane shipping). Those ones are scheduled to ship by the end of December. I’ll probably list the second pair for sale at some point since I don’t need them anymore. Here is Wurong (乌绒), or Black Velvet. She has a dark gothic vibe going on. This is Xinrong (心绒), or Heart Velvet. She’s the light counterpart to Wurong. Both came with the usual character card, instruction manual, wig, outfit, extra hand parts (same as the regular blindbox edition), shoes and animal ears. I think these two are supposed to be wolves? They also come with stickers like the allin set came with. They also came with bare headcaps, unpainted animal ears and some styling accessories. Not sure why the magnets were bundled with the headcap instead of the ears, but these were also preorder perks that the allin set came with. Since I bought both dolls, they also included this unique faceplate and eye chips. It’s cute but a little boring compared to all the other designs they’ve released. I guess I need to pick up another spare body at some point 😅 I forgot to mention this in the opening post, but all of these dolls (not just the hanging cards) have grooves in their butts and tiny notches on the insides of their legs so you can pose their legs at different angles. The preorder batches also have aluminum rods in the arms and legs, so they pose really well despite being strung BJDs. Here they are together. The wigs for these two were just as terrible as the regular editions’, especially Wurong’s. So many fibers came out that I was scared she would go bald. Xinrong’s was much easier to style, and not nearly as many fibers came out, but I had forgotten how much grief this series had given me, and styling them brought back how much of a struggle it was the first time. A better view of their outfits. The outfits are exactly the same, just in different colours. Closeups of their faces. This series only has two faceplates and each of the hanging cards uses a different one. They also come with bonnets, parasols and wolf ears. The bonnets attach by clipping into the hair and I did not want to deal with them snagging and messing up the wigs, so I didn’t use them this time. The parasols do not seem to open, but the dolls also do not come with gripping hand parts, so there’s no real way for them to hold these. I guess you can hang them off their wrists? The animal ears are the same for both in different colours. They also have a pearlescent sheen to them like the regular editions, but these ones have tiny heart-shaped holes at the tips. You can attach them using the hair clips they come with, but like the bonnets, I didn’t want to deal with them potentially snagging on the wig and ruining the hair, so I kept them off for this photo shoot. The prizes for the photo contest were sent out and seem to have arrived at the warehouse. I’m waiting on photos of them to ensure they’re the right ones, but if all goes well they should be here in a week or two. I’ll definitely report back after they arrive. 2 Make your own signature like this
