kagamik Posted August 25 Since my third doll has made it home, I figured it was prime time to share some photos! I'm not much for photo stories or anything, but I do like playing dress up so I'll try to remember to share cute outfits as I go :3 Since Kotone has finally arrived, I figured I'd start with her unboxing and set up! Some doll nudity is shown, so nsfw photos are inside spoilers, and sfw inside a quote so you can collapse at will - hopefully that also helps with the visual presentation a bit so the post doesn't look too terribly long! Spoiler Fresh out of the box - her face up looks much prettier in person than it photographs, in my opinion. Also, absolutely love that Volks uses super heavy duty cardboard for their shipping containers; it feels like it'd be great to craft with, and I really earnestly appreciate when companies pay attention to the presentation a bit. Spoiler I was not at all prepared for how big she'd be compared to Lily! I knew the DDS was bigger but I have never been good at comprehending the scale of things xD Lily is a mochi-ashi so she's got some heft to her anyways; they seem to weigh about the same amount, honestly. (Monster can for scale lol.) Quote Getting her dressed was a trial of endurance, honestly. Her top is two layers, a slightly thinner white long-sleeve sweatshirt under the thicker yellow one. Feeding the sleeves into the outer top was more difficult than I expected! She comes with a pair of shorts to wear under her skirt, rather than underwear. They are a black spandex-y material, with white lining to avoid staining. They do make it a bit harder to adjust her hips, and I felt that they fit rather poorly around her waist, so I may end up swapping those out for normal underwear or doing away with them entirely. This was also my first attempt at socks - they went on decently enough but getting them past the ankle took more effort than I had anticipated. I 100% expect her shoes to flake in the future, and I gave up on tying them - I'll pass that duty off to my partner when they get home xD All put together, I am super pleased with her. I think she looks lovely, and she's one of my favorite characters. I'd been torn between her and the resin version released by another manufacturer - I do think I'd be happy with either of them, but vinyl is definitely a more enjoyable material to play with. I think next on the agenda will be piecing together a few alternate outfits for her, and hopefully some different shoes that don't require as much dexterity 😆 6 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
