Shion and Shirayuki (DDS Marisa and Reimu's head)

Shion (DDS Marisa) and Shirayuki (DDS Reimu's head) finally arrived from Japan. I was worried they wouldn't make it out. My mom said I should check them with the Geiger counter! I am glad to finally see them in person.

I was playing with eyes for Shion. She is cute with round ones. She looks like a little kitty!

 

I love her with these ruri-kon eyes. She looks so sweet!

 

I thought Reimu would make a cute fox girl, so Shirayuki (Snow White) was born. I wanted her as a fox girl friend/sister for Mashiro, hence the name (Mashiro = Pure White and Shirayuki = Snow White).

 

She is so cute. I love her as a fox girl.

I didn't know you got the sake set too! That is so cool looking! Congrats!

 

Maid Sae is about as awesome as you can get.... she is beautiful! I love her eyes..... the maid setup on her is just so nice looking. Good job on that one. Can we see more of her in the future?

 

Shion's yellow/gold eyes do look like a kitty! That's adorable! She needs some ears now! She also looks good with the blues... she has more of a mysterious look to her than with the yellow/gold ones.

 

Oh my! Shirayuki is AWESOME! I love kitsune! And now that Mashiro has a friend, they can brush each others tails! Reimu fits the fox girl set so well... almost like she was meant to be! One question tho, why does she look taller than Mashiro? Is she on a stand or something that makes her taller? Or is it just perspective from the camera in that picture? Either way those two together are kawaii overload. You *need* to do a shoot with those two outside! It would be soooo cool!

 

Congrats again on getting these two in Mitsuki, I know you've been waiting a long time for them!

Thank you, Baldylox! I will definitely take more pictures. Shirayuki and Mashiro are both L-bust DDII girls. Shirayuki only looks taller because everyone is on small tables on top of small tables. The one Mashiro is on is shorter than the one Shirayuki is on. When on the same level, they are the same height. I do have some photos of post of them outside together. It was really windy, so we couldn't stay out too long.

How are you finding the DDS body? Is it as awesome as I hope it is?

It has lots of flexibility, and the joints can move in more ways than the DDII. I really like it a lot. It is fun to play with.

 

It has quite a different body line compared to the exaggerated look of the DDII and the even crazier DDdy. The torso is more equal in proportion compared to the legs. I wonder if the torso to leg length proportions help stability. It is not that much shorter than the DDII body, but it does look younger than the DDII. The "eyes" are an interesting shape. The body seems more narrow so clothes look bigger on it.

 

The body is still very light weight similar to the DDII. It was really windy when I put Rie's head on the DDS body and took her outside. The wind picked up, and I couldn't stay out any longer. She tried to get blown away and take Saki with her.

I had heard it was much better at standing! I really would love to get my hands on one of these bodies so that Ellie can have a younger sister

I really thought Volks would release more DDS characters for Tokyo 25. I wonder if there will be any for the next Hometown Dolpa. The prices for the Touhou DDS girls are crazy on YJA and Ebay.

I know I'm surprised we aren't seeing more DDS action! The prices are so high I think mostly because the DDS body is in high demand.. I emailed Volks USA about it, if they knew anything about it getting a wider release but they said it was still too new to know - which means this will probably go like the DDdy did and get a regular release by next year. (I hope)

It would be cool if they released it for the next DD Gathering coming in October.

Shion looks really cute with those ruri-kon eyes. I like the way her mouth is shaped.
