Ashley Posted April 22, 2013 Hi! I am new,not new to collecting DD,but new to the board. I was wondering, can you no longer purchase dollfie dream base bodies off of volks usa??? I am going to need a base body for one of my girls soon, and I noticed they no longer sell them??? Thanks! -ashley
Nekopon Posted April 22, 2013 Volks USA restock once in a while but if they're out, you can also try Volks Inc. They actually have it in stock here: https://www.volks.co.jp/page_ex.jsp?CONTROLID=SC0040&BUSINESSID=InitDisp&jancd=4518992345994 Usually when the stores are completely out, we have to look out on the forums for people to sell their used bodies but you're lucky! Kodama Posted April 22, 2013 I recently purchased a DD-II base body, and I think you can get a older DD-Dy body, but they seem to be out of White Skin, and don't seem to offer the DD-III or DD-Dy-III base bodies other than as "standard Characters" or as parts to be assembled... Rather annoying, actually..
Ashley Posted April 22, 2013 yeah..I was kinda hoping for a Dd3...LOL So Volks usa isn't going to stop selling them, they are just sold out at the moment?? I usually only buy from volks use or the regular volks inc websites.
Nekopon Posted April 22, 2013 No one sells DD3 at the moment, not even Volks USA. You have to get it off a full girl.
Ashley Posted April 22, 2013 Gotcha, thanks for that,I didn't realize. I plan on ordering two of the standard models in the future..but I want to get a head right now, which will need a body..so I guess a DD2 will be for her..or I might do some swapping later..LOL But yeah, looks like I will need another dd2. Does volks USA sell the sister body yet??I know they are out currently..if they ever did.
Nekopon Posted April 23, 2013 No, sister bodies are not sold either. However, both DDS and DD3 can be bought in parts to assemble if you wish to.
Ashley Posted April 23, 2013 hmmm I have never done that before.. is it cost effective?Does it end up being about the same as a fully assembled DD2?? its tempting..LOL!
Nekopon Posted April 23, 2013 No, not at all. DD2 will always be the cheapest option right now in terms of Volks. Buying parts for DD3 or DDS will cost at least $350.
mitsuki Posted April 23, 2013 I agree with Nekopon. It is most certainly not cost effective to build from parts. DDS parts from Volks International: 2,100 yen DDS-BF-01-WH / Upper Torso Internal Frame / White (Item Code: 4518992394145) 7,350 yen DDS-A-01-WH / Arms (Internal Frame Included) / White (Item Code: 4518992394121) 3,150 yen DDS-B-01-WH / M Bust / White (Item Code: 4518992394084) 3,150 yen DDS-FO-01-WH / Feet (Internal Frame Included) / White (Item Code: 4518992394138) 4,725 yen DDS-HL-01-WH / Thighs (Internal Frame Included) / White (Item Code: 4518992394107) 4,725 yen DDS-LL-01-WH / Shins (Internal Frame Included) /White (Item Code: 4518992394114) 5,250 yen DDS-W-01-WH / Waist (Internal Frame Included) / White (Item Code: 4518992394091) 2,100 yen for hands Sub Total: 32,550 yen Shipping fee: 2,800 yen Handling fee: 0 yen EMS fee: 100 yen Total Amount: 35,450 yen USD: $356.91 DDS parts from Volks USA: $24 USD DDS-BF-01 / Upper Torso Internal Frame $85 USD DDS-A-01 / Arms (Internal Frame Included) $36 or $41 USD DDS-B-01 / M Bust or other bust type $36 USD DDS-FO-01 / Feet (Internal Frame Included) $55 USD DDS-HL-01 / Thighs (Internal Frame Included) $55 USD DDS-LL-01 / Shins (Internal Frame Included) $61 USD DDS-W-01 / Waist (Internal Frame Included) $24 for hands Total: $376 plus about $15 or $20 for shipping, so maybe $390+. Pricing for the DDIII parts is the same. Volks USA has DDII for $254 before shipping. Volks International has DDII for 22,050 yen ($222) before shipping. For DDIII or DDS bodies in splits of full sets, I see them for $300 to $400. The Standard Model characters basically have cheaper bodies than those built from parts. DDS Mayu is 44,100 yen ($444) + ~$30 for shipping = $474. Standard head with faceup from Volks ~$100 wig 4,410 yen (~$44) eyes 1,029 yen (~$10) panties and slip set is about $20 or $30 total: $174 $474 - $174 = $300 for the DDS body
Ashley Posted April 23, 2013 so its cheaper to just buy the full dd3 doll....and then sell off what you dont want rather than buy all the parts? Or swap her if you have other girls you want on a DD3 and give the Yukino or Miko or whoever their old DD2..
mitsuki Posted April 23, 2013 Yes. If you like the standard model's head, you end up with two girls but you get the body type you want for a better price. This is how it is too easy to end up with a lot more DDs than originally planned. haha
Nekopon Posted April 23, 2013 Mitsuki the lifesaver, I've been looking for that list! Yaaaay!
gaiaswill Posted April 23, 2013 It's just the common strategy of bundling. While the body cost is certainly cheaper when in a set, you also bought a bunch of things you may not have wanted in the first place.

hironohiro Posted April 25, 2013 I think DDdy base body is in stock for US right now, but well, that's dy.
Ashley Posted April 27, 2013 Yeah, which may be what i go for. I havent decided yet. All my other girls have standard DD2 bods except my miniDD. At first I didn't like the Dynamite..when i got my Sasara I sold it off and got her a new DD2. But I am thinking it would be nice to have more different bodies in my collection, now that I have a good wardrobe of clothes for the DD2,I can start building more towards more things for a Dynamite. I would like a small bust girl eventually too and a dollfie dream sister. Who knows maybe my incoming 05 head would be good on a Dynamite. I already ordered her wig and some clothes and stuff..but so far every 05 I have seen has big boobs and it looks nice.
hironohiro Posted April 28, 2013 Aha, I happen to have an 05 with dynamite too XD

Ashley Posted April 28, 2013 wow! What awesome pictures! I cant wait to get my 05 head! I like her mature anime look. I think a dynamite might be perfect for mine!
Ashley Posted April 30, 2013 Mitsuki, what does this mean "The Standard Model characters basically have cheaper bodies than those built from parts" do you mean the individual parts are made better than the fuller assembled dolls are?? How much is it to ship a volks body from the Japanese website to the USA?I tried doing a ghost order, and it wouldn't tell me.
Yukamina Posted April 30, 2013 Mitsuki, what does this mean "The Standard Model characters basically have cheaper bodies than those built from parts" do you mean the individual parts are made better than the fuller assembled dolls are?? Just cheaper as in it costs less. The quality is the same. My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt
mitsuki Posted April 30, 2013 Like Yukamina said, the parts are all the same. The only difference is assemble by you or by them. I was looking through my Volks orders and most had shipping costs of 2,800 yen (typical regular item order), 3,200 yen (full set DD Miki), or 4,305 yen (full set DD Moe 2nd). Banders Posted May 8, 2013 Sooo, if one's looking for a new WS body, their options are DDII or buy it in parts? Hmm, it's a real shame the standard models don't come in WS... >, Living with: MDD H01, DDSB Yayoi Takatsuki, DDP Akira, DDS Nia Teppelin ☆My Instagram ★
SakuraSylph Posted May 8, 2013 You could also join a split for a DDIII limited doll that was white skin, and claim the body. In fact, for the new semi-white skin, that will be the only way to get a body in that tone until later this summer. SakuraSylph
