Obitsu 45cm boy

Ok guys l would like to see your obitsu 45cm boys. I know that there is not much info/owner pictures on those so this is way l am making this thread. We can use this thread for info on those boys as well.

 

My plan is to take a obitsu 45cm boy body and put an obitsu Alice head on this body to make Finn from Adventure time.

Bump for info. I well be buying some boy MSD clothes so my Finn has clothes for when he gets here.

Seeing Tama on the Obitsu body again makes me cringe. It basically made him "out grow" his clothes and he looks really stretched to me, but that's just because of his character. His shirt is Volks and with the 45 proportions looks like it shrank in the wash. So even though the clothes fit the body, they look weird.

If you look at the bottom of Ralph's pants... yep more clothes that are just too short. These are Volks pants (and shirt) as well. If it wasn't for that, they would fit great!

Rainie loves this body for the poseability. You sure can't get shots like this with an MDD. I've suggested to her a couple of times or so to either choose an MDD body, or the Obitsu 45 girl body, but she flatly refuses. Apparently she prefers the boy hips.

Sister Kyoya your pictures are too cute for words. Thanks for posting what you think on the obitsu 45 boy. Have you tried the MDD/MDD3 busts on the obitsu 45 girl?

 

Maybe unoa boy/minifee clothes would fit better on the obitsu boy.

 

I did find out that that all the obitsu's 40 to 50 share the same sized feet.

I well be getting Finn's head soon (l am using the obitsu Alice head) and he well also be getting some slim MSD clothes made as well.

Hey Sister Kyoya - can I ask how you attached your DD heads to these bodies? I have a SQlab Kirie on my 45cm body right now and tried to use a washer, but his head rolls around on the neck - and it's hard to get it to stay in place without him doing an owl-headspin-action?

If you take the neck piece apart ( remove screw ), you can easily put the head on then. It just takes a bit of coordination or an extra set of hands.

 

I have loads of DD and SQ heads on Obitsu bodies. Hubby does the mechanics because he is better with all the little pieces. But it seems easy.

I've got the head on there, took the springy part apart and everything - and his head stays on no prob just wants to coast from left or right lol

Sister Kyoya do you have a picture of your obitsu 45 boy standing up in the MSD volks pants? Do the pants stell look too short when he is standing up in them?

Katnaper- Rainie still loves her hat and if she wasn't a floating head she would still be wearing it most of the time. Naiomi loves both of the hats you sent but doesn't use them yet because she is still waiting for me to make outfits to wear them with properly. Your hats are always adorable!

 

Janeway- I'm glad you like my pictures. I would like to try swapping more Obitsu/MDD parts, but so far I just have the 45 boy body. It is looking like Ralph might be upgraded to a male 47 if the male bust & torso work on that size. I hope it does because it might finally resolve Ringo's body size problems and make her decide what she wants.

 

I have been wanting to see how the male bust looks on the MDDIII, but Tama hasn't been upgraded to that yet, so I haven't even been able to mess with that body in person. After all of our current floating head DD have bodies, Tama will have been upgraded if the bust piece works fine, but at the moment we had to buy another MDD body since his arm broke and it was the less expensive option for now. I love how adorable the MDD bodies are, but the old version are nothing but a headache. In comparison I've really been surprised at how stable and sturdy the Obitsu bodies are. The other day I noticed Ralph's foot getting loose, but all I had to do was tighten the screw on the bottom of his foot and he's back to being perfect!

 

 

 

If you added shoes and socks it might not be noticeable with the pants, but shirt sleeves would still be too short.

 

I have my personal disclaimer to add to my comments: For a bit of perspective, I'm overly critical on the fit and look of DD/Obitsu clothes because since November I've been working hard to get everything together for Naiomi's Closet, drafting patterns like crazy, sewing all day long, and generally driving myself batty with my perfectionism. I think because of a lot of this I might come across as a snob when I'm not trying to be. I often get frustrated when I know I can do something better. So, feel free to take my 'advice' with as many grains of salt as you feel is necessary.

 

Mangaemi- Because the MDD bust does not work with the really thick Obitsu neck joint, I had to disassemble part of it and jimmyrig the rest to make it work. So even when I have the Obitsu bust on it, currently it is just easier keeping the strung neck as it is. This was a temp solution I put together a year and a half ago...

This is not an ideal solution. The lower bolt on the piece that Ralph is holding goes through the holes that the elastic is threaded through.

 

Even with Ralph who doesn't have hair often at certain angles his head will just flop over entirely, and Rainie with her long and heavy hair is continually fighting to keep her head up. In her 'action shot' posted earlier, half of the challenge of getting her to stand on one foot was to get her hair to balance out the rest of her body. I think that wig weighs half as much as the 45cm...

 

I hope to have a new 3D printed neck joint for the Obitsu bodies & the DD heads. I know that someone sells some already, but I personally find getting a hold of them is a total pain in the rear, especially since Shapeways can 3D print metal. (Technically I think they print the molds for the items and then cast the metal.) I'm still working on the 3D model for it, but I think having the base in one of the strong plastics would make it easy to go over the Obitsu internal neck piece (that Ralph is holding) and having the 'stick' part that goes through the hole in the head done in stainless steel would be great. I think this would have the best chance of durability for the whole piece since moving the head can put a lot of stress on the stick, and I really don't think having that piece made from the strong plastic would last well over time. However, either way I think that having replacement/adapter pieces like this available through 3D printing is SO much more convenient than trying to figure out how to track someone on Y!JP. I'm hoping to have a prototype of this sometime within the next month or so.

 

"owl-headspin-action" Ha! That's exactly the current problem I have to. *Picks Ralph up and his head spins around like he's trying to stare at his butt*

 

What does the hole for the SQ Labs head look like? Could I see how it is currently attached? I keep forgetting about those heads so I don't really know anything about them. I was going to get one for Lucas' head until the 05 came out, then it wasn't necessary.

 

Misheru- Thanks! If I remember right, the family photo was taken last Easter, and why Naiomi is dressed like an old lady... It was the only outfit we could figure out colors to match her hat (From Katnaper) and still look remotely proper for Easter Sunday. I still think she looks like an old lady.

I just hope the volks SDcute, MDD dress fits the obitsu 45 girl body due l just bough a volks LPB Chiffon Princess dress in black for Rini or Moka not sure who well get it.

I found out that obitsu Alice head is not being made by the company anymore. Now to think of another obitsu's head that would be good for Finn (adventure time) boy. Any ideas would be very helpful guys.

 

I do have one though is the Henzel (Misha) head though not sure if it would work for the obitsu 45 boy.

 

I found another head that may be good and its the obitsu Hime-Ane head. Trying to research this though.

I bought the obitsu Henzel (Misha) head and l think it well work for the obitsu 45 boy body due to the head looks MSD sized. This head fits 16mm eyes and fits MSD wigs.

 

eluts is also having a sale on clothes, wigs and shoes if anyone interested in getting some.

 

Now to save for Finn's body.

Sister Kyoya l found out that the obitsu 50AC-FS003W Option Large Bust may fit the obitsu 45 girl or boy. I well be trying this bust on Rini's body when l get her.

Sister Kyoya. baldylox has a obitsu 45 girl with the obitsu L bust (50cm one l think) though you might like to know.

 

I think l am going to add the obitsu 45 girls to this post as well if that's ok with the mods/other people on here.

Would combining the 45cm male bust together with the 40cm obitsu body work, or does anything think it might turn out weird?

Pahsmina it could work not sure thought l have never tried it. Maybe someone well know better then me. I did hear someone putting a obitsu 50 L bust on the obitsu 40cm girl and they liked it.

Finns eyes and pants should be in this week.

 

Update: I got the eyes and pants yesterday in the mail and l am not too happy that one eye fits and the other is too big also those are in 16mm and they are glass eyes. Oh well there is another pair of eyes that l well get him that l like that well fit him better.

 

As for the pants they look good but l well have to wait intill his body gets here to find out if they fit him.

I am now waiting for rini's obitsu 45cm girl body to get here also l order her head and obitsu L bust.

 

update: I have order Ersa Flora’s eyes for rini's head in 16mm and in full round also no pupil metal red.

Now just to wait intill everything gets here. Just got an e-mail from the maker of the eyes that l order for rini and they are sold out of full round of what l want for rini. I did change them the to the red glow in the dark ones with no pupil in 16mm in full rounds and now just to wait to see if she has them/can make them.

 

update: My rini should be here this week and as for the eyes that l thought l could get but they are sold out of them. I did get a pair of dark red pupiless glass eye off of ebay.

I had to go get my obitsu 45cm girl, obitsu L bust and obitsu head from the post office today.

 

The obitsu L bust fits Rini like it was made for her. Mind you sometimes when a person orders from parabox the batch of vinly parts can be off but not too much off (meaning color).

 

I did find the obitsu head that l got for her to be realy soft thought not sure if that is normal or not.

 

The dollmore MSD boy pants fit her and the ttya shirt fits as well.
