jadepixel Posted November 13, 2011 I decided to consolidate this sewing project into its own thread I saw a really cute catgirl figure from 'Planet of the Cats' duojinshi (slightly NSFW link here) But the dress looked easy enough to sew, so I gave it a shot! I made the skirt and blouse as separates with detachable bows for more versatility. Yoko is my lovely model today :3 I did a second pass using the same pattern, this time with red corduroy. Adding lace and ribbons make a simple dress feel more elaborate. The front piece somehow was a bit big, so I added a couple pleats there as well. The white blouse is the same piece in both photos. I need to get the backs a little more even on both pieces before the pattern is ready for primetime, but I hope you enjoy seeing the progress so far :3 jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop

baldylox Posted November 14, 2011 Such nice dresses! I especially like the red dress, that looks really nice. And I thought your Yoko was an 04 head at first until you said it was Yoko. I can see it now tho. She looks nice! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
jadepixel Posted November 15, 2011 Thanks everybody! I need to do one more pass on the pattern, then maybe I can post that up with a quick tutorial. You'll have to put up with my weird self-taught terminology though ^_^; And Billy, you were right initially - she's an 04 head painted/modded to look like Yoko, hence her name is Yoko. Not confusing at all I know XD jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop

I knew that was an 04 girl! But with how her makeup is done and the large eyes, I couldn't be 100% sure she *wasn't* a modded Yoko head. Thanks for clearing it up for me tho! And either way you look at it, she's so very beautiful. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

fenrir z78 Posted November 21, 2011 I love that color scheme, fenrir z78. The dress length is really cute too. Oh I had nothing to do with it. All I did was use Jadepixel's pattern. All the credit goes to the person that made the pattern. I was nothing more then a tool. I deserve no credit.

fenrir z78 Posted November 21, 2011 You still picked the colors though. I like them. They are kind of Alice in Wonderland. I based the colors on the original dress. As I said all the credit goes to Jadepixel for makeing the pattern. I was just a tool.

PrettyCranium Posted November 21, 2011 Thanks so much for this! I can't wait to try. But . . . stupid question . . . how do I print it out so that the 1 cm box is actually 1cm?
fenrir z78 Posted November 21, 2011 Thanks so much for this! I can't wait to try. But . . . stupid question . . . how do I print it out so that the 1 cm box is actually 1cm? I ckicked on print to fit page. The 1 cm box came out to be about 1.3 cm. That was ok with me. But not every printer is the same and the soft were you use may be deffrent then mine. Just play with the size till it size right.
Poofiemus Posted November 21, 2011 Thanks for sharing the pattern, Jadepixel! I think it'll be nice to make something without drafting the pattern myself for a change. I do have a question though: will the skirt/dress part stay up without the straps? I think it might look cute that way if it does. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
