EDIT: So...the bow on the front, the spot where one of the silver snowflakes go just totally unraveled with no force at all it just totally gave way. I'm bummed, I don't want to have to send it back because international shipping and tariffs. Uncertain of what to do. the ribbon forming the bow unraveled? i'm sorry to hear, that is something that would cause me stress aswell! but if it just a matter of retying the ribbon I'm sure there are some good and easy tutorials to re-tie it and have it look pretty again! it does seem like a hassle to have to send back just the bow for a replacement, i'm not sure what the Volks policy is for sending stuff back
Kiwi717 Posted October 20, 2025 The last time I had an issue with a volks item they had me send it back but it was US so I'm not sure with this one. It's the ribbon that holds the snowflake to the bow that came undone. But here she is together! Some things to note, the gloves ARE NOT lined so I had an extra pair of hands specifically for them. Also the wig cap is black!! Luckily I had a spare white head cover. The wig is gorgeous but utterly a mess to style properly and I had a time and a half getting it on.
RyuichiSakuma13 Posted October 31, 2025 Mine arrived this week! But I'm currently enjoying my Miku in her Dreamy Autumn Wear outfit. Ugh, why would they make a black wigcap for vinyl dolls that are notorious for staining??? Luckily, I too think I have an extra white headcap around as well. And honestly, I didn't expect the gloves to be lined. I have a few Miku outfits with gloves, and IIRC, a couple of those aren't lined either. I have a couple sets of spare hands, so I'm good. Thanks for the heads-up about the ribbon and everything else. I'll be super careful and aware with this outfit when I put it on my Miku. Oh, here's Miku paying the pic tax by wearing the Dreamy Autumn Wear outfit. Personally, I think this is an amazing outfit, the details are wonderful. Monty Posted January 7 (edited) Snow Miku 2026 outfit has been confirmed and now shown. https://x.com/volks_dd/status/2008732874997129646?s=46 It’s one of my favourite Snow Miku designs so far, but I do prefer it as a chibi nendoroid figure than a 1/3 doll. The donuts look cute though. Edited January 7 by Monty 4 *twitter*instagram*art*
SchneeFlockele Posted January 8 Hmm… I’m going to buy it for sure, as I really enjoy this year design, but… is it me or does it look a bit cheap? As in it doesn’t look the same as the picture, with its laces or even the way the end of the sleeve looks? It’s a shame they didn’t include different eyes too. toughstermcg Posted January 8 I do really like the outfit & wig, but yeah I have trouble justifying the cost of the Miku outfits. We'll see based on the price & when the order period is.

Understandable, still considering the prices of these outfits, I think criticism is fair. To be fair, although I really want to buy it, if Volks pictures do not look good at all, and the price is superior than 30k, then even I may not purchase it. Edit : it costs 33k yen, according to the official website. I must say my snow Miku 2018 ver. set’s quality is great, so maybe I was lucky it came with my Miku lol ! I hope this one’s quality will be as good 😊 On 1/9/2026 at 12:52 AM, toughstermcg said: I do really like the outfit & wig, but yeah I have trouble justifying the cost of the Miku outfits. RyuichiSakuma13 Posted January 21 (edited) Welp, Life has finally slowed down enough for me to be able to focus on dolls again. I have to admit, I'm more than likely not going to get the 2026 Snow Miku outfit, but it all really depends on how my finances are when buying time comes around. Its cute, and I do love the shade of blue that the wig is, but its also a little goofy-looking to me. I have to admit, I loved the goofiness of the 2024 Winter Delicacy outfit, so much so that I bought it. The shrimp on that outfit made me LOL so much when I first saw it! But the 2026 outfit...I'll have to see how I feel when it comes up for sale. Ryu P.S. My Miku is currently wearing 2025's Crystal Snow outfit, and despite the wig's black headcap, I think she looks amazing in it. 💙 And yes, I got her the Luminous Rod for Yule. After all, being my only vinyl doll, I spoil her. SchneeFlockele Posted January 26 (edited) Hello everyone! We’ve got some news today ~ Sweet Snow" set ¥33,000 (tax included) Sapporo SR pre-order!! Order period: February 7, 2026 (Saturday) 13:00 - March 22 (Sunday) ※Sapporo SR reservation benefits available Spoiler Said Sapporo benefit is that postcard! Nothing too shabby, yet we can catch a glimpse of another shot of Miku outfit; Her wig looks better here imo. I wonder if she’ll come with a lot of sweets? Some new products will also be commercialised : First off, a Miku DD carrying bag… for Miku herself?! Spoiler Now, Miku only needs a micro (nano?) DD for herself 🤭 Price : ¥5,940 Secondly, now Snow Miku can finally get her own carrying bag! Spoiler It looks okay, imo. Pretty sure it will stain like a DD, life repeats itself I guess Price : ¥13,200 Lastly, Volks decided to produce a keychain of Miku and that bag for some reason : Spoiler Ironically, DD Snow Miku didn’t get her own carrying bag unlike regular Miku 🧐 Price : ¥1,650 So here we go! Hopefully we will see more pictures of Miku’s new outfit soon! Source : 1, 2 Edited January 26 by SchneeFlockele

Also, I may need that Snow Miku bag...hopefully it will be regular release. Edit: There's also some sort of special campaign for Volks GL/VS/VIP members. Seems like people have to be there in person to get an extra gift? Edited January 26 by Kemonomimicry

SchneeFlockele Posted January 30 We finally got a view of the full outfit : I’m cautiously optimistic for this outfit; I’ll wait for pictures of it at the festival! I don’t know why, but the beret’s and the boots’ shade of brown irks me… And also her socks would work better as stockings imo.
littlebirdzoom Posted January 31 (edited) I'm not trying to pop in and just be a hater, but the quality of these outfits is just not it. I'm tempted to say they haven't been for a long time, but if I really think about it there's only a small handful of them I would say are good quality (as I mean it). I personally don't feel this is the truest to the art it could be, it looks more like it was just "made" quickly, and the printed fabric and heavy seams look so Barbie-like. I understand it's difficult to reproduce physical clothing from an illustration for mass consumption, but it sometimes feels like Volks is dead-set on only using 2 types of fabric. And this printed on everything is really bothering me. The fabric choices are noticeably cheap, but I think a lot of people are missing this fact because if we're being honest **everything** is made out of cheap material these days (including our clothing, even from high fashion) and I think we've gotten used to the bar being low. Especially anime/fan goods. I'm sorry I'm just a little shook. This really looks like someone's home project. Not something I would expect from a company like Volks. And my personal biggest thing is I have SERIOUS trust issues after the last few Snow Miku wigs and Len's wig. I really wish there could be more information up front about wig material types. Since this is such a big point of the price, it's a huge factor in me taking the chance. That being said, if you like it then buy it. No one is going to judge you. I am personally voicing how I feel only. I don't mean to be inflammatory. I am mostly a resin collector at this point, but I have been annoyed with Volks for quite a while now. I love Volks, but I have a laundry list of WTF building in the last few years. Edited January 31 by littlebirdzoom 1 Waiting for eternity for Volks to release more Idolm@ster girls. It is a forum to discuss the hobby, including the negative aspects / entshittification of it. If we don’t discuss them, then what’s the point of a forum after all! We shouldn’t be an echo chamber. I do agree 100%. I really wanted to buy this year’s outfit since I just got Miku this last year and I love the design, but I’m disappointed with the clothes being so different from the design (and I mean with the laces, it just feels so lazy!) and the fabric being most likely cheap rayon. I still want to give it a chance, that’s why I’m waiting for the pics from the festival but yeah… I will not buy it if it looks this cheap! Especially for 33k yen!! My Miku is a distinguished lady. 2 hours ago, littlebirdzoom said: , but I think a lot of people are missing this fact because if we're being honest **everything** is made out of cheap material these days (including our clothing, even from high fashion) and I think we've gotten used to the bar being low. Especially anime/fan goods. I agree to an extent with your statement, but only with mainstream, big brands (and also anime goods of course). I know plenty of more niche brands that offer quality goods for fair prices, sure they are expensive compared to your average garment, but not unaffordable, luxury prices either. And they last so much longer. I have a 100% wool pullover that is still like brand new despite it being worn at least 6 years, and it was less expensive than Miku’s outfit! 2 hours ago, littlebirdzoom said: I'm sorry I'm just a little shook. Those are important discussions to have, and also it is important for people who wish to purchase it to be aware of issues (e.g previous wig qualities). To be fair, I really enjoy reading people’s reviews! I’d love for a Miku’s outfit review thread to exist. Maybe I should create one? But I’m not sure it would interest a lot of other people. Also I’d to hear your various grievances about Volks, maybe not in this thread since it would be off topic, but if you create a thread I’d interested in it! Pierrot Posted January 31 (edited) As someone with no Dollfies, I don't have a dog in this race, but I'm a bit mixed on the promo pics too. The hat, boots, and sash not being the same brown is what I think I dislike the most. And the printed fabric being so shiny does make the outfit look cheap despite the price tag. I'm not sure how else they could've made them to avoid this, but the plastic desserts on her hat, sash, and in her hair don't look that good either. Maybe this is more of an issue of the design not translating well to 3d or not lending itself well to a non-chibi scale. I do like her hair doilies, apron, stockings, and boots (not so much the laces, but the shoe itself lol) though. We'll have to see what the outfit looks like in person and how the mass produced outfits for consumers look before we give any final judgements. I think there's a chance the real version will look ok. Hopefully the quality will be better than feared too. Edited January 31 by Pierrot
Thespian Posted January 31 I'm pretty unimpressed, honestly. Volks is infamous for not taking good photos of their own products as far as Dollfie Dreams are concerned, so the outfit being higher quality/more impressive in person is a very realistic possibility. I also agree that translating 2D anime images into 3D wearable garments is a challenge, since art pieces don't need to consider things like fabric weight/scale, seam allowances, physics, et cetera. Translating it into doll scale is even harder due to the smaller margin of error. That said, I also agree that it feels like Volks has been phoning it in on their Snow Miku outfits. I understand that the yen is weak right now, which has changed the fabric quality that Volks can obtain at the necessary quantity to do these collabs without increasing the price point. That said, I know many collectors will pay premium prices for high quality pieces, so while some prospective buyers may be turned off by the price increase, many more would be willing to pay the difference. Lolita as a whole proves that you can have printed fabrics that also photograph well, so it's not like all printed designs have to read like shiny, mass-produced, low-durability rayon. Even if it's an intentional design choice in order to mimic the shiny, cell-shaded look of anime, I would strongly prefer to lose that effect in favor of other fabrics. It's also not comforting that in the waist-up image, I can see a loose thread peeking out from behind her apron. It's a small thing, sure, and would even be acceptable on the actual product, but being able to see flaws in the promotional material? Really? It creates the impression that they believe it will sell regardless of quality due to being an IP collab, which is frustrating at best and insulting at worst. 1 (Anthy Himemiya) | (DDH-06) | (DDH-06) | (DDH-07) | (DDH-09) | (Mariko Summer Festival Ver.) | (Sakura Miku) | (Sasara Kusugawa) Any pronouns are fine
cluffy Posted February 1 the part that's really driving me insane is the basic lace they wrapped around her twin tails.. those parts in the design don't look anything like lace! i think it would have been easy to make scalloped ribbons with the star/snowflake motif instead, just not as easy as grabbing the first spool of lace trim they had lying around and slapping it on instead. :C also the basic ruffles in place of the fluffy, whipped cream-like trim of the illustration is really sad to me. i think people deserve better given the price tag.
sunlightandtea Posted February 1 I am actually a bit in disbelief at how cheap this looks. I agree, the printed fabric and the hair lace are... a choice. Switching back and forth between the outfit and the original design, I'm not sure why volks decided to even give this one a go. So much of the charm of the winter '26 illustration is integrated into the very bubbly art style of it, it seems far better suited for unique figurines or nendoroids than a realistic dollfie dream outfit. Very strange.
SchneeFlockele Posted February 2 Yeah I tried to be less pessimistic about this outfit as I didn’t want to sour the discussion + I really like this year’s Miku… so copium I guess! But today we got the full view of the outfit : This is too much. Come on Volks, you couldn’t even make real ribbon tails..? Was it really needed to print it on the dress..? Here’s the rest of the pics. Would I pay 20k for it? Yeah! 33k? Nope. Well, easy pass I guess? Except if a Miku miracle happens at the event? Maybe (hopefully) Japanese fans will complain?
Giragira Posted February 2 (edited) Looking at the nendo version of this outfit I think the fumble is (along with the printed on ribbon tails lord) is not making the bottom icing layer of the dress/sleeves fuller. It really adds a fluffy fun shape to the whole look, and the version on this dress just looks kinda...flat?
