We got inspired and are making doll videos again.

Unfortunately this one appears to have bombed. Maybe Megumin is as useless as that other Konosuba doll I have in my collection.

The final insult will be if Nendoroid Miku gets a lot more views than the vinyl dolls have accumulated.

 

Aqua's unboxing was a hit.

Miku and Rin have done quite well too.

For some reason Nezuko is leading our unboxing vids, with 8,858 views.

Towa's channel now has 140,063 total views. It's kind of amazing for something I just started while we were locked down back in early 2021.

No just Towa's doing this for the fame, not the fortune. We're up to 141,996 views now.

Frieren's starring in the next one. It's in post-production.

Sometimes I think I'm the only person who likes Ciel. She's still for sale on the Volks USA store long after everybody else sold out 😪.

She's definitely one of the most underrated DD of the modern era. I mostly bought her for this outfit, which is a stain monster and not quite true to the original, but I still think it looks awesome.

We're currently watching the Tsukihime anime (yes it does exist). It's also very underrated.

Below is our test shot for a possible season 2 of the anime. If only we had a 1:3 scale lamp post.

Hey, man!  I'm a fan of Ciel, too.  She's a great character, and a great DD.  Hopefully her slow sales won't prevent Volks from making Akiha, Kohaku and Hisui.  Rather than a second season of the old anime, I'd rather Ufotable do a new adaptation of Tsukihime, like they did with F/SN.  

 

No Satsuki DD, though.  She's getting her own route, we gotta keep the "isn't it sad, Sacchin?" meme alive somehow.

Technically, that would have been Kara no Kyoukai.

Nobody should sleep on Carinval Phantasm either, although there's not that much Ciel content in there.

For our second in person doll meet I took Reina. I took her because the theme was glitter and this outfit is the glitteriest DD outfit we have.

Reina was a neglected MDD I found in the junk category of YJA a couple of years ago. She didn't get many bids, mostly because she had a bad wig and bad outfit. Much to my surprise she turned out to be a very modern semi-white body. I wasn't keen on her original head, so now she has this custom Frieren head. We left her elf ears at home as they're very delicate.

Much to my surprise, she was VERY popular at the doll meet, and was generally more popular than Misaki at last month's meeting. I guess her roller skates helped, as did the DD suitcase and of course this stunning outfit. A few dolls have worn the green version we also have but this is (I think) the first time somebody has worn the pink version.

Incidentally her absolutely awesome badge was something we picked up in a boutique in Covent Garden. We have a load of different ones and one doll now has something very special indeed.

The doll meet itself was good fun. There were a lot of different people as well as a whole load of different dolls.

I also took Azones Raili and Aika. They were so excited somebody brought along a sofa that was a perfect fit for them. Well Aika wasn't too excited because she can't bend her knees and can only stand up.

Sorry it's a bit blurry but honestly who knows how to work a Sony ZVE10 and it took me a long time to balance Raili.

Reina and I brought Miku a present back from London...

Hopefully we can find the Rin one sometime...

Towa's Nekopara outfit arrived yesterday. It was the half price outfit of the week on the DollRemi website so we snapped it up at that price.

It was really difficult to put on her. It wasn't so much that she's a DDdy as the outfit not really having ease of entry. Towa says she's fine with this as it would be an awesome forever outfit.

The socks are from DollRemi too - they're really good quality. They're soft, and they stay up, which is what you need in a sock.

They gave us a beautiful blouse as a free gift too 😁.

I spotted this smol shork at the beach this morning. We need socks and shoes and a slightly better wig but this cosplay is taking shape. I can't remember buying these eyes but they're kind of good for this character.

There's rumours of another, larger shork but there haven't been any confirmed sightings as yet 👀.

If anyone is wondering who this Gwar Gura shark character is, I'll just leave this here...

Another wild shork has appeared!

I found Rin waiting for the 10:72 to London but I told her the anime expo isn't for another 10 days. I don't even know if I'll take a Gwar Gura character anyway, because the tails are kind of awkward.

Don't I deserve a 🏆 for my doll balancing skills?

Of course, we had to take a photo here at Shorksville. It wasn't the best angle, and it wasn't open either 😬.

Rin had a go on the refurbished playground rides. She did slide down while I was setting up and it's the best video I never took 😆. Btw we shoot very early in the morning so there are minimal hoomans around.

My tribe don't realise they're super lucky to have a doll sized railway station near our house. We always get onlookers here, because their kind are not at all common in this country.

An evening photoshoot to show off Kirika's Towa's new notice me wig. It's from Hannasu. We bought it as an emergency wig to prevent Kirika's default wig from sustaining additional damage at UKBJDCon. And now everybody wants to wear the mythical flowing red locks.

Speaking of locks, I'm pretty sure the tribe are now obsessing over what might lie behind Pandora's... door. We need to make a video of this place.

Towa's Nekopara Azuki outfit is by dollremi. It's quickly becoming a favourite too, even if it is a complete nightmare to fit.

Also she won't be cosplaying as Haruhi Suzumiya. She'll be wearing a DDdy outfit because it's the most appropriate for the monthly theme. I would have taken either Towa or Yoru but neither were available apparently.

Another photo of the Queen of the DD... Shin Sato. This was one of the first outfits I bought for my crew, because it was the most popular anime at the time when I visited Japan. Haruhi and That Song were everywhere.

It's a decent, well made outfit and more importantly... it comes with pantsu 😁.

An early morning visit to the beach. Usually we can only do this on the very rare days when there's no wind.

We've now discovered hairspray, so that will help with future photoshoots. Shin's current wig hasn't been treated, but the one she's wearing for the next photoshoots has. It looks really sensational and it's taken care of the flyaways.

I'm really liking our new(ish) Sony ZV-E10. This photo is straight out of the camera with the kit lens... there's been no editing except to crop and resize it.
