How Long After Spraying Before MSC Is It Safe To Take Inside?

Recommended Posts

So, I have a question- a fairly important one- that I can't seem to find the answer to just by Googling. I've finally been able to lay down the first Mr. Super Clear base layer on my Minifee Honoka, that I mentioned a long time ago, but I think this question is important for vinyl doll customization, too.

How long after spraying a coat of MSC outside is it safe to take the piece inside, without risk of the 'off-gassing' still being dangerous?

I left the head in my sunroom for a few minutes before bringing it fully inside, and left it in a room with cracked windows and the doors closed to keep my cats out, but I'm starting to worry that may not be enough. Keep in mind that I sprayed in my backyard, so the fumes should have dispersed outside before I took it even into the sunroom. But I could somewhat smell the coat drying as I took it inside? Is this harmful?

There's a fairly old DoA thread about just this, which you've probably seen if you've tried to search for information on it.

What she says on the second page is that you're waiting for the particles to settle out of the air, which should happen after about half an hour to an hour at most. The actual smell may stick around longer, but the smell itself isn't airborne particles.

Spraying it outside and then leaving it in the sunroom for half an hour seems like plenty, particularly since you're spraying outside and leaving the particles mostly out there.

Ok, thank you

Oh, I have been taking parts that I sprayed back with me in my room always immediately so far, I hope I haven't done a number on my health with that ...

Yeah, that's what I had been doing, too...
