Hi all, I went here thinking there would be a thread on these dolls but I'm shocked I can't find anything so guessing lots of people don't know about this yet! They are a new Japanese vinyl doll brand and just launched in February so still very new and just getting off the ground. Currently you can order blank heads, 44cm bodies (MDD size) and hands in the two skin tones available (Tan and white skin). You can also order two complete doll sets, which are two super cute fox girls. Orders close on those soon and they'll ship later this year I think. They don't ship overseas yet so unfortunately you'll need to use a proxy service like From Japan, or a forwarding service like Big In Japan. I just received my order today of the two bodies so hoping I'll be able to get a review together soon but on the whole I am very impressed! A few quick things, the white skin is a very close match for Volks DD semi-white. The heads, which are amazing (I adore the expression), fit on DD bodies but are a tiny bit loose. This might be fixed by adding something like glue or varnish to the inside of the hole or worse case tie an elastic band on the inside. Also they have the open mouth mod and you can remove the tongue and mouth piece! The vinyl is very soft so probably more prone to staining. I had a look and the main website is down for maintenance but looks like it'll be back online over the weekend. So we all know how scary it is to have your vinyl doll stained by its clothes, and wonder about how to remove those stains. Vinyl stains so easily from so many things, darker colors that is. but for my next project what I really want to know is can you make a tan soft vinyl LIGHTER permanently?! has it even been attempted? I’m definitely not prepared to start testing chemicals on vinyl, I’ve no clue how the materials react. my project: I bought a tan(chocolate) skin 1/6 imomodoll and I want to color her tummy, chest, bum, and strap lines light to give her a swimsuit tan lines look!!!😍 ive considered buying another(light) body and swapping the torso but… what do I do with a tan torsod light limbed body…but also having the shoulder and neck colors not matching the head would be very bothering to me :,(

Help me With Measurements for an Imomodoll Fuwamo (1/6)

hello everyone ^_^ I'm still new to this forum and to doll collecting in general, so I apologize for any mistakes. Recently I found a legit bjd shop called mydollection.com, and there I saw an Imomodoll Fuwamo (1/6) doll for $39.99 (I was looking for vinyl dolls on the cheaper side). While Imomodoll is thorough with its measurements: I'm confused about some of them. 1 - I assumed that since it's an anime style doll in the 1/6 size it would have bigger eyes (14mm/16mm), but I still want to be cautious and ask you guys. 2 - The wig size is also weird for me, it looks like the head is pretty big so maybe an MSD wig would fit? But since it's listed as a 1/6 doll, maybe I should just go with the standard YOSD wig fit (6-7 in.)? 3 - The thighs are really thick so I'm pretty sure that stretchy MSD pants would fit, but the doll itself is just 27 cm/10.6 in. So again, I'm not sure if I should go with MSD or YOSD pants) thanks everyone! -
I saw these soft-vinyl DDS parts on Booth and they seemed really interesting! They are designed to allow for more flexibility/poseability. There's a preview video on Youtube demonstrating it. Would anyone know if these would they happen to be recasts (aka not ethical) or do they just happen to be original (aka ethical) 3rd party custom parts (in similar vein to silicone busts or jointed hands)?

Can we urge doll companies to use sustainable alternatives to vinyl?

I have a huge love for vinyl dolls, but to be honest I feel a lot of guilt and anxiety knowing that the vinyls and plastics that make up the dolls I love are harmful to the environment. They are non biodegradable, pollute the air when burned, and are usually not recyclable. I hate knowing that my decision to buy these beautiful dolls will negatively impact the world that future generations will have to deal with. However, I feel like it doesn’t have to be this way. I think we can make a change, so here’s my proposal: Admittedly, it is very difficult for the individual consumer to make an impact on environmental issues since large companies are the largest contributors to pollution by far. However, I think relatively smaller companies like Smart Doll are much more likely to listen to us than huge conglomerates like Apple and Coca Cola. So, if we each contact/email the support services of the doll companies we love, they may actually hear us and consider using a more sustainable alternative to PVC! My first post since the forum changed ... A month ago I received my 3rd character dolls from the anime : '' Is the order a rabbit ? '' ,. As we moved house last fall and I'm still working on my new studio , I haven't had the chance to open the 2 first ones but I was too excited to see Chino , I opened her box right away . I really love here , she is so cute . Her body is an Obitsu 45 cm ...even if they say it is Azone , I know what an Obitsu body looks like 😉 My girls were happy to welcome her , but she was a little shy ^_^ I'm glad the forum is more easy to use now . Stain picture (before trying any treatment) So I need to get rid of this stain. I tried: Acetone nail polish remover Rubbing alcohol Mr. Clean magic eraser Sandpaper Zit cream And none worked... Though I only kept the cream on a short time tbh. I only made this much progress in 3 hours of scrubbing, rubbing and waiting. After treatments Does anyone have anymore ideas? The stain is from the doll sitting on a shelf in dark leggings. (*´︶`*)♡Thanks!
