Experiment 1: MDD Bust on DDP (NSFW, doll nudity)

Recommended Posts

A while back, I was browsing discord late at night, and I came across an interesting custom doll: a Dollfie Dream Pretty with a Mini Dollfie Dream's L bust on it.

I thought this looked pretty good; (no pun intended), so I planned on testing this out for myself, and with the looming tariff debacle all queued up for November 1st, I made a purchase from Volks that included an L bust in semi-white.

Fitting the bust onto the body wasn't as tough as I thought it would be, though it did still require liberal use of the hairdryer. It only took two attempts to get the bust down on the lower torso, with the neck hole fitting just fine and the arm holes, while not a perfect fit, seemed manageable at first.

So, how does it look? Well...

Not bad! The shoulders are probably the worst part, but I had some idea of this based on pictures of the doll that inspired this little journey. However, in real life this bothers me a bit more than I expected... though that could be more due to the bigger problem with this configuration, which is the affected articulation. The shoulders don't fit quite as snug, and so the attachment feels less secure when the arms are moved. This could probably be improved with some minor modding, of course, but I'm not quite ready to try this out yet.

In the end, I'm conflicted. The fit could definitely be improved...

Overall, if I decide to swap her back to a normal sized DDP bust, Kuru and Ludo share a skintone, so I could always try it out on her, and if that doesn't work out, I could sell it, idk.

I hope you were able to learn something from this, or at least found it interesting. Until next time!

I’d been wondering about this, so this is good to know! Thanks for posting.

When I got my latest DDP and MDD2.0 bodies I did try this with the DDP, and with just the upper and lower vinyl pieces the narrower upper torso versus the lower was visually a bit too odd for me, adding the arms seems to balance things out. so when clothed this could still be a valid option.

I think I might have seen someone on twitter playing around with frame bits, not sure if by chance the MDD upper frame could go onto the DDP frame with some effort to bring in the arms, the lower bits are all slightly different to disable cross use (the slightly wider DDP hip bits would have been a boon for Mochis, but noo...)

But then the shoulders would get narrower again versus the lower torso.

Would be nice if the body had options from volks directly, also oddly enough imoneko doesent do aftermarket bits for the DDP, dont know about rajikal.

Yeah, the proportions do look a lot better clothed, but I dunno, something still feels off to me... idk, but I'm glad you found this helpful!
