Dollfie Dream, the Legs Issue

Recommended Posts

Silentsteel

This is less a gripe and more a bewildered call for help - My Dollfie Dream's legs decided to first come loose, and then just smoothly detached. As far as I can tell nothing is broken?

I just can't get the legs back in?? Help??

Anybody have any tips for getting her properly reassembled??

I can take photos if that would be helpful.

Is your DD from the f3 frame generation? Then it's probably this:

It's most common in DDdy and Mochi-Ashi MDD, but it can happen to all the others, too.

If everything else fails, take off the torso vinyl shell and try to attach the legs without it getting in the way. This should allow you to better see how everything fits together and that everything is aligned properly. If that works, try again with the torso shell back on.

I don't think my girl has that frame type?  Also, I can't see a way to put the shell on if I assembled it with just the frame. I'll be able to take photos later, right now I'm out and about.

If you doll isn't on the f3 frame, some photos might indeed be helpful to know what we're dealing with. In my experience with older frames, stuff falling off randomly usually indicates that the socket is cracked somewhere...

No, to put the torso shell back on, you'll have to disassemble her again.

But, trying to assemble her without the shell should give you a better view of what's going on:

A) If the hips come back together just fine, then nothing is broken. You can train your muscle memory so that you'll be able to put her back together the same way with the shell back on.

B) If the legs still fall off even without the torso shell, you should at least have a better view of what's going wrong. Either because something is not aligned properly, too lose, or damaged somewhere.
