It all just boils down to personal preference of what you think looks better. Like me personally...I prefer a painted mouth or sanded mouth to the head having lip definition that I don't like. I personally don't like the 01 very much when it isn't sanded because the lip shape isn't for me. But when it is sanded...the 01 is my second favorite head! It's always an anime style head sanded or not...so with lips modded, I would say it's just more "trendy" looking? It fits in better with the styles that are popular right now.
