Galvatim Posted January 15 I've watched quite a few shows since my last post... My Unique Skill Makes Me OP even at Level 1, Black Summoner, Even Given the Worthless [Appraiser] Class I'm Actually the Strongest, My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's, Cautious Hero, The Water Magician: These are all Isekai shows, and all mostly the same-ish, with the main guy awakening in a fantasy world with some amazing power. They're fine, if you enjoy Isekai and fantasy anime, they'll scratch the itch. I like to surf the web, do DD stuff or build Lego or model kits while watching TV, and these shows are fine for that. I was Reincarnated as the Seventh Prince: Still an isekai, just a little more fun than the others. The main character lacked magical talent in his past life, but is reborn as the seventh prince, allowing him to study magic to his content. He's completely overpowered, of course. There was an uncomfortable bit, though, in the first season, to set up a bad joke involving underwear later in the episode. The second season was better about this kind of stuff, and focused on the action and adventuring. Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill: The main dude is an adult in the Isekai, which is nice to see. It's mostly a laid-back, slice-of-life show, about cooking for a hungry wolf, and the main guy can order ingredients and equipment from an online grocery site. This is lots of fun. A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai: This one is mostly obvious from the title. I don't want to spoil it, it had a few interesting twists, and it was refreshing to see an anime comment on a trope like that. Tales of Wedding Rings: The High School DxD or Ikki Tousen of Isekai, mashed with Lord of the Rings and Skyrim. I'm honestly kind of surprised this is on Crunchy Roll. Quality Assurance in Another World: It's a "trapped in the game" show, but but he was hired to QA the game. Most of the other QA people have gone rogue, and now main dude is setting them straight. It's an interesting twist on the genre. Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway: If that title scares you off, I can't really blame you. This show deals with some tough, challenging material. Yoshida, a 20-something salaryman takes in a runaway high schooler, Sayu, after finding her on a chilly night. This is taken seriously, and the show is more of a drama and character study. Also, Yoshida does nothing inappropriate with Sayu over the course of the series. I do recommend it, as long as you feel comfortable with some heavy material, such as homelessness, mental health issues and abuse.
Skorpion9x Posted January 20 I finally started watching Spice & Wolf the other day. I'm about halfway through right now and am enjoying it so far. I already have three scales (with another on pre-order), a nendo, a plushie, and a couple mugs of Holo despite having never watched it before lol.

I don't know if this is an exact remake of the original. Spy x Family season 3 is really good and I've been enjoying the Loid Forger backstory. Anya doesn't seem to be in it quite so much... maybe she was busy with Frieren. Today is Frieren Friday of course. And Oshi No Ko season 3 is great as always. I'm taking Kazuha to our first convention of the year, and she wanted to go as Ai Hoshino (angsty version). Kazuha always gets these gigs, since she's the only DD I allow to swap out her eyes. Xiongmao Posted February 13 We took a bit of a break from anime, mostly because we seemed to have watched everything we needed to see. A new favourite is Kill la Kill. This won't be for everybody due to some very skimpy outfits. I've found it surprisingly good though, with a great storyline and some very funny and action packed moments. It has some kind of Flintstones/Simpsons vibes too. In one episode they improve their social standing, with hilarious results. Frieren and Oshi No Ko continue to be top tier. 1 My Dollfie doll family December 2024 😊. Instagram: kawaiidolls.tv
Giallo_Gatta Posted February 24 I started watching BNHA, finally. I know I have a lot to catch up on, lol. Good news is I only got to around book 25-30 in the Manga back when I first got popular, so the second half of the series should be full of surprises. Also rewatching Assault Lily BOUQUET. It's so bad, but I still love it, lol. Moyu is best girl.
Xiongmao Posted February 26 Ah Oshi. Definitely the anime of the year. The depth of the characters and the thoughtful storyline are just top tier. Plus Chanmina got out of bed to record an absolutely incredible OP. New Frieren tomorrow after a week's hiatus for the Olympics. My Dollfie doll family December 2024 😊. Giallo_Gatta Posted May 23 Started Re: Zero after hearing good things about, honestly not expecting much, but so far I've been really impressed! The characters have a lot of personality and depth, and the last couple episodes of season one (which I finished last night) really blew me away, if I'm being honest. I'll probably be watching another episode or two tonight, as I look forward to seeing more of the plot and cast. Ram and Beatrice are my favorite characters so far, they make me laugh. I've been watching it with my new girl, and think she likes it too. 😉 I know it's a little past it's prime, popularity wise, but better late than never, right? Galvatim Posted May 24 I found a few shows to watch this season. Wistoria: Wand and Sword season 2: Main dude can't use magic, but actually he can. Fun, if predictable. Reincarnated as a Slime: Rimuru just dramatically kicked a desk. There's still a lot of politic maneuvering, but it's not just cabinet meetings, sometimes the gang disguises themselves to fight visitors to the dungeon simulator thing they built. There's a new antagonist, pulling the strings behind the scenes, but Rimuru is essentially god-level. The show lacks punch at this point. I'll keep watching, as it's entertaining enough, but more so as background noise... Reborn as a Vending Machine: Season 3 is still fun. Box-o becomes a car vending machine. As enjoyable as the show is, I hope they wrap things up with this or the next season, before it wears thin. Netflix Devil May Cry: More like everyone will cry... I never expected a straight adaptation of the games, but this is ridiculous. Capcom needs to stop with these awful adaptations of their properties, they make them look bad. So glad they told the guy behind Netflix DMC "no" for Dino Crisis. Re:Zero season 4: I like this show best when Subaru isn't just relying on Return by Death, and instead solving problems on his own or with the gang. This season is at that point. Throw in that getting Rem back is one of the goals, to the point that they brought her comatose form along, it feels like the story's moving. The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King: The warrior princess is defeated in combat by the barbaric king... so he takes her as his bride, being so impressed with her warrior skills. The premise is questionable, but makes up for it with decent characters and world building. Chainsaw Man the Movie: It's like a beautiful dream. Or nightmare. The film's worth a watch, even if it sounds like the manga had a lame end. It really is a masterwork of animation. MarriageToxin: Poison master Hikaru teams up with marriage swindler Mei to find a wife. He cuts a car in half with poison in the first episode. Strong contender for best anime this year... although there's Frieren season 2 to compete with.

Frieren is epic but it's a shame the anime is so far behind the manga. Season 2 was way too short. I've also been neglecting my watchlist but me and the dolls have been enjoying Wolf's Rain. It has a nice old skool vibe to it and also the ED music is hauntingly good. On 5/24/2026 at 12:14 AM, Galvatim said: I found a few shows to watch this season. sunlightandtea Posted May 25 Currently watching: Witch Hat Atelier - Love love love the animation and music. The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King - The art style is cool and I like goofy romances. Daemons of the Shadow Realm - FMA author. 'Nuff said. Baka & Test - My husband recommended it so we're watching it together, it's so fun. We just finished Mashle: Magic and Muscles (husband and I both weightlift and we thought it was hilarious and awesome) and Frieren (10/10, and my church buddies loved it too). Both were great.

Xiongmao Posted May 31 It was Kaito's birthday last night and we watched Chainsaw Man: The Movie. Oh man that was so epic. It's kind of a love story, and also a crazy gory action movie. Maybe Volks will make Reze. She's definitely become an iconic cosplay at conventions. Also the Angel Devil... I want them so bad 🤩. My Dollfie doll family December 2024 😊. Giallo_Gatta Posted June 10 Okay, so when I said I finished season 1 of Re:Zero, I was wrong... I just assumed that the change in intros/endings indicated a new season, when in reality, I was only halfway through season one. Not that that particularly matters, as I am now all but one episode done with season 2. 😅 I was very wrong in my initial assumptions that this show was going to be cliché, it (and one... interesting character in particular) have an iron grip on my brain right now. I'm already dreading running out of episodes...
Tasuke Posted June 10 (edited) Someday i'll Finally Make the Time to Sit through MACROSS Frontier. Something Tells me i'm Probably not going to be Especially Fond of it... But Who Knows. Until Then... and Beyond; I Shall Always Have my Puppie♥Wife Ranka~ Edited June 11 by Tasuke
Gabriel Posted June 23 Amazingly, despite being a big fan of Macross Frontier, I've never watched the entire series. Back when it was new, I was following it for a while. Fansubbers were working with mad speed and I was able to see translated and fansubbed episodes the same week as the premiere of each episode. I followed that for a while, but then I think there was a site takedown or something and I just lost track of current releases for a while. I saw a couple of scattered episodes, and then saw the finale two episodes. But there was still a lot towards the back half of the series I never watched. I downloaded fansubs. I've purchased bootlegs. I even purchased the authentic full series release without the fansubs just to watch it. And the series is now on Hulu, but I've just never gotten around to watching the tail end of the series. I always stall out at about the same spot where I originally lost track of the original fansubs. I have watched both the Frontier movies. Eventually I'll get around to watching those episodes of the TV series I missed. -- Right now, I'm watching Heavy Metal L-Gaim via the new english Blu Ray release. I need to get back to Queen Millennia, which I had watched through about six episodes before getting distracted.
Giallo_Gatta Posted July 22 I'm about halfway through Lucky Star as of the other night. It's a lot of fun, I can see why it's considered such a classic.
Mega Negi Posted July 22 Every now and then I'll rewatch Log Horizon. It doesn't have the best art, animation, action or pacing, but it captures the MMORPG scene of its era better than any other anime. I swear I was in guilds with some of those people. The author clearly spent time grinding. I respect that.
Larkness Posted July 22 I'm more of a manga person myself, but I'm currently watching: Yomi no tsugai (I'm a BIG FMA fan, read it 3 times) Kamisama Hajimemashita rewatch A Fate series (can't recall the name, the fake Enkidu one) bc my partner is a huge FGO fan. Wouldn't recommend it tbh, kinda mid Kino's journey (I'm also reading the manga at the same time, 100% recommend to do that as they cross each other but never overlap) I'm also thinking on rewatching my two favorites series of all time, Natsume Yuujinchou and Mushishi c:

Thankfully they were both good enough to make up for missing other things! This season I am watching: Steins;Gate Deadman Wonderland Nichijou Denpa My backlog is pretty scary, so I only listed what I am watching, not what I want to eventually watch. ^^; Favorites (my taste is a little eclectic): Princess Tutu Kino's Journey Haibane Renmei Gilgamesh Arjuna Madoka Evangelion (the movies moreso than the show) I love Kino's journey! It reminds me a lot of Mushishi and I read a bit of Husband Renmei before I realized I needed to watch the anime first, lol is now on my watchlist Can I ask you if Gilgamesh is about the historical figure or if it's just the name? I've been looking for content related to him but I was only able to find the Fate franchise and an old shoujo where he's the antagonist 🫠
