Yukamina Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) Hi everyone! Here are some patterns for DD II M bust that my sister kindly put together. It should fit DD III too. If you've made some clothes before hopefully you can figure out what to do! I can't answer detailed questions myself because I haven't use these patterns. Oh, and please don't use these for profit. Here is a basic bodice pattern. You can use it to build your own pattern. For example, you can lower the neck line, and lengthen the bottom to make a form fitting dress. The lines in the middle are for for if you're just making a skirt, or just making a top. There are two front pieces to choose from, one with darts and one without. And the pieces are meant to be cut on a fold. If you want it to fit DD III better, follow the red/pink alterations I added. DDIII have wider hips... Seam allowance of 1/4 inch is already included. DD 2 bodice by Yukamina, on Flickr Here is a pattern for a short sleeve blouse. It's designed to attach with velcro in the front. You can add lace to the front. Watch as my ability to explain things deteriorates. Seam allowance included. DD short sleeve blouse by Yukamina, on Flickr Here's a pic of my girl wearing it: Shia and Iris by Yukamina, on Flickr Here are two patterns. The two small pieces on the left are for a mini corset that just goes around the waist and attaches with velcro. I don't have a picture at the moment--I'll try to take one at some point. The other pattern is for a knit tank top. knit = stretchy fabric (if you look closely you can see the knit pattern on the fabric) The shirt is supposed to have four ruffles on the chest--I assume just make four long strips of fabric, bunch them up and sew them to the front. I'll take pictures later. NOTE: there is no seam allowance at the neck, arm holes, or bottom. Only where two pieces are sewn together. My sister left the edges raw since knit doesn't frey. DD ruffle tank and corset by Yukamina, on Flickr Here's another tank top pattern. I think it must be based off of Jadepixel's dress, but altered to be just a tank top. No seam allowance along the bottom or the top, again, my sister left the edge raw. Again, no pics for the moment, sorry! DD tank top by Yukamina, on Flickr I hope someone finds these useful! If you make something I'd love to see (feel free to post here). I might also add more patterns to this later, if I make anything good Edited January 27, 2013 by Guest My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt

SisterKyoya Posted January 27, 2013 Thank you so much for putting these up. I regret that I won't have any significant amount of time to do more sewing until Summer starts. But at least when I do have the time I'll have the patterns to play with! ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

Yukamina Posted January 31, 2013 For the sleeves, just make sure to cut it on a fold (so it will look like a hill shape), I forgot to write that on the pattern ^^; Good luck with your sewing! My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt
Shailara Posted January 31, 2013 I might as well ask >< On the first two pattern pictures, for the front piece, what is the triange-cut above the waist?? I've been starring at it trying to understand but nothing comes to mind! (\_/) ( ' .' ) ( uu)
shinegamix Posted January 31, 2013 i take it you mean the right frontlabeled one? i thought it was for folding in so it contours the chest making my triumphant return
Yukamina Posted January 31, 2013 I might as well ask >< On the first two pattern pictures, for the front piece, what is the triange-cut above the waist?? I've been starring at it trying to understand but nothing comes to mind! Those are called darts, so the shirt will follow the shape of the bust (which is important for fabric that doesn't stretch, and for plastic boobs). Basically, just cut it out like the pattern, and sew the two sides of the triangle together, and continue like normal. There are other kinds of darts for under the bust, or down the back (not in any of these patterns, though). Here're a couple pics I pulled from google http://unfinishedprojectparty.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/img_0060.jpg http://sewingbusiness.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/BCC-48.jpg http://www.swannetoscar.com/images/coupe/500/DosPliCentralAvecPinces.gif Hope that makes sense. Ravendruid Posted February 4, 2013 Thank you so much for these! I'm always happy to find new doll patterns! Hopefully, before too much longer I'll get a few days off in a row and I can get around to doing a bit more sewing again, my fingers have been getting a bit itchy, and Yuriko's been giving me "the look", so I'll need to do it sooner rather than later. NekoSan22 Posted July 19, 2013 Is there any way I can scale/alter this pattern to fit a MDDIII? If so, PLEASE tell me? Yukamina Posted July 19, 2013 Is there any way I can scale/alter this pattern to fit a MDDIII? If so, PLEASE tell me? Oh, there's no way DD patterns will fit MDD, they are way too different. It'd be way closer to use patterns made for other MDD sized dolls (there are patterns for similar sized resin BJD out there somewhere). I did make patterns for MDD blouse, vest, and skirt, though. Here it is: My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt

Minuette Posted January 23, 2014 Does anyone happen to know of any pants/jeans patterns? I have a lot of old holey jeans and I'd love to recycle them in to clothes for Annie. Annie has a DDII at the moment, but any that would fit will be fine!
shinegamix Posted January 23, 2014 the only person i know with patterns is puppy. but i dont think she is that eager to share those making my triumphant return
SisterKyoya Posted January 23, 2014 I have one for an MDD that I drafted myself, but I'm not eager to share it either. Normally I wouldn't mind, but trying to get my DD store open really changes a lot. Getting a properly drafted pants pattern can be very finicky. I'm really not trying to sound like an ass. Here are a few suggestions on how to go about it: How to Sew Your Own Pajama Pants on Instructables, DIY basic boy pants, or you could do searches for DIY pants pattern. There will definitely be a decent amount of trial and error this way, but if it isn't daunting to you and you already have a pair of DD pants its a good option. Personally I used the Make Your Own Patterns: An Easy Step-by-Step Guide to Making Over 60 Dressmaking Pattern book when I made a pattern that I have since used in making Tama some pants and swim trunks, and Ralph some shorts: The pattern still needs alterations for the pants, but I'm mostly happy with it. So far it is the only pattern I've drafted in DD/MDD scale from the book and it took a decent chunk of time doing it by hand but it works well. Sometimes in the instructions it says to add X amount of cm/in to a measurement and that confused the heck out of me because it never said where they got the number. Eventually I figured out that if an 'arbitrary' number like that is given in the book, I just need to use 1/3 that amount for DD, and 1/4 for MDD because the base number is roughly based on average adult measurements. I've even used some similar logic on Dolly's clothes because he's sixth scale, and it seems to work just fine. I hope this can help someone a bit at least. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Minuette Posted January 24, 2014 Thank you both! I never expected anyone with a shop to reply at all, so you absolutely don't sound "like an ass", Sister Kyoya! Yukamina Posted January 24, 2014 I'm also working on a pattern for DD/DDS shorts, I'll post it when I finish it... The best way I've found to make patterns is to make a tape dummy from the doll and work a pattern out from that. It doubly works since I like tight fitting clothes and sci-fi bodysuits. When it comes to DD clothes, somehow I want to share basic patterns so people can make their own stuff. I know I sure enjoy free resources... I totally understand wanting to keep your patterns to yourself, though. I'm not really trying to make clothes for sale, so putting up my patterns for free doesn't impact me. But I do make plushies for sale and I sure don't give those patterns away! My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt

Your patterns are great! Like you said some basic patterns that you can alter and change are awesome. It's helped me work out the kinks with some of my patterns to look at the free ones. I've been trying to work out a jeans pattern but more realistic with a yoke in the back, but I don't think I have enough skill/experience yet. Some nicely fitted shorts would be great! http://amara77.wordpress.com blog and shop Spoke too soon....
