its nice to see HE has listened to the collectors and made the tan girls.

I've been flailing with joy all morning cause of this. Now i wanna make a minime!!! I can't wait to see the other ebony tones he's going to make....maybe he'll even do fantasy colors one day (*0*)

I'm not surprised this is happening seeing he did sort of make a note of showing off tan skin at some point?

 

Still waiting on girls I actually care about to order though so....

Hmmmm! Very interesting, I'm getting more tempted by Smart Dolls now if they come in tan :3 I also want access to the Smart Doll shop orz

I may be tempted on this. I wanted to eventually get a tan girl with a bodacious body and an attitude, and this may save me from a dye job. But from the drawn pictures the best face for her would've been Kizuna, but for some reason she didn't get her own face mold, so her eyes aren't shaped right imo. I'll have to wait for Chitose and see what happens there I guess.

I'd be THRILLED if Danny ended up doing something similar to a DDdy with a chubbier 04 type head and chocolate colored skin. It's a DD I've thought about for a few years but never thought that she would even be a possibility without a lot of modding.

I would love to order one together with a hijab set someday and make a Muslim girl.

I nearly exploded when I saw this on instagram! So excited! I saw a Mirai up at Doll North last weekend, and was still on the fence about her...but this! THIS!!! YES!

Yes, but that still isn't a specific date but more like an approximation. I don't see those as the same thing. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one. (Sorry for sounding like bitch, I'm still struggling to see if I can get the Smart Doll boy when he comes out and it's coloring everything right now.)

 

I am still interested in seeing what people do with the tan versions since I'm at a loss. The only tan skin anime girls I can think of is a girl from Ouran (manga) or some background characters in Wallflower, neither of them are intended to be flattering. Okay there is Urd from Ah My Goddess, but I always thought of her as a DDdy body type, and that isn't what the Smart Dolls have. I hope Danny has more sculpts available. It would be so wrong if all his girls used Mirai's head sculpt.

I don't think its just limited to anime,(although there are a lack of tan characters that aren't big,busty,sexy elf, or sexy tan lines girls) I think many of us are "tan skinned" and would love to see a doll that reflects ourselves more, or a family member/friend, actor/actress etc. I am over joyed to see tan skin and will be handing over my wallet not once, but a couple times in the future. So glad Danny is filling this market. It will be exciting to see what everyone does with these new girls!

I have Mirai and Kizuna and so will be on the 1st mailing list ready to buy the Ebony version

But I Just hope he makes a new head mold , but looking at the photos its the same one used for both the current Smart Dolls

It's really easy! You can use a dye-free nailpolish remover or Windsor and Newton brush cleaner, just clean it well with soap and warm water after to fully remove.

 

Well I just went to some trouble to make a DD version of my favorite (tan) anime character! So fortunately it'll be a while before I have to consider switching her to Smartdoll. But I could definitely use a tan Eiji type to make her brother ^_^

I've read about WN before--but I've also read a few accounts of it leaching the pink out of the vinyl....so I'd be especially afraid to try it on tan! Perhaps I can test the inside of the head cap for the nailpolish remover, and make sure that doesn't do any damage to the gorgeous tan before I commit to wiping her face with it!

Here she is with face-up, eyes ect.. she looks cute. thought they might make a new character for her but she just looks like tanned version.

She looks really cute. I would like to see her with brown eyes like Mirai's.

I may have to sell Mirai so I can pick up the tan girl instead....

Yeah, it is light to be called Ebony, but he did say there were going to be more skin tones available in the "Ebony series"--so the name doesn't just refer to this one light tan doll, but the whole range of colors that will be available.

indeed it does make her look lighter.
