But yeah, they definitely ship to Japan because they do free shipping on weekends and are giving out reduced shipping coupons for the 618 sale right now lol 2 Make your own signature like this

I'm taking her out on her first outing soon and I'm definitely nervous to make sure I do everything right! Sorry for the late follow-up. In the end, I decided it's faster to retake the photos than dig them out... Mash will demonstrate how I pack up a doll for transport: This L-pose is the easiest way for the dolls to fit into a sturdy (camera) backpack. The arms up should prevent the face from getting scratched by anything. Then I wrap one of the long thin plastic bags that usually come with the dolls around the head for extra protection. Since it's not used to actually put a doll inside, a shorter bag or a small light colored towel should do the trick, too. (The clip at the top is just to hold the bag in place for the photo. Once inside the backpack, it should stay on by itself.) Then the doll goes into an L-shaped compartment inside the backpack. Since I have a side-loader here, It's pretty easy to quickly take the doll out or put it away without other stuff falling out. For transporting two dolls, turn the backpack compartment into a U-shape and put the second doll in from the other side, interweaving the shins. For front-loading backpacks it works the same way. Here you can see my old backpack with the L-shaped compartment. Kyrie is kneeling where the head would go. (Note that this is a staged photo for a photostory. The backpack is rigged to carry one doll here, not multiple.) Hope this helps you out a bit. froggubi Posted June 17 @Tierparkzone This was insanely helpful, thank you so so much! I realized I don't have the kind of bag you do, but I'm hoping I'll be able to make this work with a regular bag! Also your girls are so pretty! I love the outfits! I'm hoping to get Pepita a lil maid dress too someday!

Also to be fair I have no idea! I've never used the site before. I can reccomend it a lot, I think I get like 80% of my doll things from Taobao, honestly. This might be a bit different when you are living in Japan directly, but I feel it is the best way to get some great and good quality things for not too crazy amounts of money. I've been struggling a bit trying to navigate the website, but I'll have to give it another go! I really want little props and accessories for my girl, and I'm sure I'll be able to find plenty there! I also wanted to get a clear bag to display her in for events, but those are even more expensive at ¥9800, and I worry about sun damage...! I know you’re probably set on getting a bag from another site by now, but I thought I’d recommend hand making one! I was also interested in the volks clear-front carry bag but deterred by the price, so I made one myself from a few layers of cotton fabric and some thick-ish clear plastic sheet, both of which can be easily bought from a fabric store. It was my first actual project on a sewing machine and I personally found it a very easy one, because the bag is essentially just a bunch of rectangles! I didn’t have a real pattern either, I just eyeballed it based on the volks product photos, but it was not difficult, so it shouldn’t be too hard for a beginner in my opinion. It’s also nice because you can add or remove things you do or don’t want, like extra pockets, a top zip, customize colour, etc. 1 ☆⋅⋆ ───FIND ME ON─── ⋆⋅☆ DoA | Twitter | Instagram ☆⋅⋆ ────── ⋆⋅☆

The basic pose should work with other (not compartmentalized) bags/backpacks too as long as they're large enough and open wide enough to comfortably fit the doll through. Depending on the sturdyness, the interior color, and what other things you want to carry inside the backpack, you will have to adjust the protection measures a bit: For instance: wrapping the doll inside a fresh white towel or blanket (either with arms up or down), using a body length plastic bag as @ragnamuffin suggested earlier (better with arms down - otherwise difficult to put on). The pose is also a good way to carry dolls in a regular (not see-trough) small tote bag. As long as the doll doesn't slide or flop around (and the bag is clean and poses no stain risk), you don't even need any extra protective wrapping. I occasionally use one of my Smart Doll totes to carry dolls to the nearby river for photoshoots. For short trips like this they're great, because you can get the doll out and back in very quickly. The supplies would be a bit hard to find here though, so that would have to be a dedicated project I don't have the time for yet. 1 hour ago, Tierparkzone said: The pose is also a good way to carry dolls in a regular (not see-trough) small tote bag. All of this was super helpful, thank you!! I ended up getting gifted a display backpack that I'll be able to use for her first outing! The color is black, so I'll have to line the inside with something protective, but lots of people in the reviews use this bag for their dolls so I'm quite hopeful about it! I like that you can cover the display section, so I can control the amount of sun exposure she gets, and it seems to have lots of pocket spaces! I'll update you on how it goes when it gets here hopefully later today!

Japan has a HUGE sewing/crafting scene, so supplies for this kind of thing are not hard to find at all. You could probably get everything in one go at Okadaya or Yuzawaya, or possibly even at Tokyu Hands. 1 Make your own signature like this
Tierparkzone Posted June 18 8 hours ago, froggubi said: I ended up getting gifted a display backpack that I'll be able to use for her first outing! Nice! That should be a great way to carry your doll around. The color is maybe not ideal for vinyl dolls, but black fabric doesn't necessarily mean that it'll stain. (The red inside my old Kenko backpack ended up being safe too.) If you eventually end up with some scrap vinyl pieces or some extra hand parts that you might be ok with risking, you can stain test your backpack. Put the piece of vinyl against the inside lining and also against inner seams (if any) of the backpack and check after a couple of days / a week. If you can apply some extra pressure (maybe weighing the vinyl piece down with a book), that's even better. - Pressure usually accelerates the staining process. If the vinyl piece is fine after this, there's a good chance your doll will survive a day in there without stains too. Until then, lining the inside is definitely the safer choice. Also, best to properly dust off your doll after a day inside the backpack, to make sure no black lint remains stuck to her and potentially causes a mystery stain. 8 hours ago, froggubi said: The supplies would be a bit hard to find here though, Seconding @ragnamuffin on that one. Check if any of those stores are near you. (Tokyu Hands may be only useful to get the plastic sheet.) Speaking of which: A lower end sewing machine will likely have trouble punching through plastic, you may end up having to sew this bit by hand. 2 Photo Story - Photo Thread - make your own signature like this

I just said it's just difficult since I'm not able to leave the house very often, which just felt a little harder to explain haha! I do definitely wanna stop by Tokyu Hands sometime soon though! 12 hours ago, Tierparkzone said: If you eventually end up with some scrap vinyl pieces or some extra hand parts that you might be ok with risking, you can stain test your backpack. I do have a pair of hands I'd be okay with risking since I don't like the big hands she came with, so I might end up doing this test!
most-Kasane-Teto-fan Posted June 19 This bag is floating around on TaoBao, It's a wee bit pricey I was a dumb butt and didn't check the shipping so it was around 60USD all together BUT the quality is pretty good so can't complain too much! It's got another zipper on the back and some pockets inside for storage which is really cool. It can fit a regular DD (Miku's head is forced down but thats an issue with her loose head/wig not the bag) anything taller then a DD or that can't sit straight (DDdy) likely won't fit though.

Tierparkzone Posted June 21 7 hours ago, Celluery said: Is that the 15L or 20L size? It's the 20L. The smaller one is too short to fit full size DD. When carrying two dolls, you won't be able to fit any DSLR size camera, but there should be enough room for an extra lens (as long as its not too crazy huge) or a small box of accessories , etc. 2 1 Photo Story - Photo Thread - make your own signature like this
