DD3 L bust for a Dollfie Dream Dynamite (NSFW)

I recently pieced together my dream girl Alna from the secondhand market, and while I wanted to put her on her original Dynamite body, I'm just. Not a fan of the default DDy bust! It gaped awkwardly where it joined the torso, I didn't like the gravity-defying shape, finding clothes I liked was hard, and sewing them was even harder (princess seams *and* darts? at 1:3 scale? ma'am.) Thanks to baldylox's helpful comparison thread I knew it was possible to mod DD parts for the DDy body. A DD3 L seemed like it would suit Alna's character design while being easier to clothe. I wanted to post a quick walk-through of how I successfully modified it~ Original bust on the left, new bust on the right, soft graphite pencil for marking, and a tool called a sewing gauge that will be serving as calipers for the next step. The sewing gauge helped me measure a set perpendicular distance away from the edge of the piece and mark a neat cutting line with the pencil. The new bust was quite soft, so I used the corner of my worktable to support it from behind as I cut. As I worked my way along I realized I preferred a wider margin under the boobs, so I ended up cutting to the outside of my dotted line. Once I made my right-angle cuts to get the outline where I wanted it, I gently shaved down the corners of the cut edges to begin making a soft bevelled profile. For the next step, I decided to try something new to deal with the softness of the vinyl. I popped the bust part in the freezer for ten minutes. As expected, this made it nice and plastic-hard so I could sand it easily. I worked through 320, 400, 800, and 1500 grits. When the piece softened I'd refreeze it for a couple of minutes. All reassembled! I'm so happy with how this mod turned out. Some shots from the side and back Thanks for looking! -
Hey guys, I tend to lurk on the forums a lot, but I wanted to share this little project I'm working on. Its an anime boy head as the title implies. The look I was going for is a grumpy type of boy with a youthful look, I guess similar to the tsundere type of character. I don't really mind you guys giving critiques, but really I just want to know your opinions on the head itself. This is a stupid thread for stupid people who just got obsessed with dolls. Rather than clutter up any other thread, I'll just post here. Feel free to critique any of the photography, composition, posing, etc. as this is just going to be me learning the basics of photography, composition, posing, fashion, human anatomy, and arts and crafts. I'm using a beginner friendly Nikon D3500 DSLR camera with a 18-55mm and 55-200mm kit lens and a very clear lack of good light. The angle is better on this one, but the exposure was off and the dress doesn't drape perfectly on Toob's tumtum. I'll probably recreate this with a martini glass. Well its been a bit quiet on this front for me, due to a few reasons, and while I've managed to now complete both shins for my liberty project, its been a bit stalled in terms of how to go about the next bits... But... what to do when a project stalls ? when many of your projects have stalled? ... start a new one, naturally.... But seriously, i've actually had this one on the back burner maybe even longer than my liberty thing, which is to take some of the old obscure volks items and try to reproduce them. namely stuff like this: sewing007 Believe it or not, but thats actually a La Personal Blue label item from the year dot. patrons of the USA volks store might actually remember seeing this as the gateway picture to the clothing section of that respective webstore, even long after its existance had been eradicated from the japanese site. But from this you can see that some things have come quite the way's in terms of overall quality, but also something else has been lost, namely the edgy fashion that DD's represented. So I decided to have a bash at this swimsuit of sorts. (I think it was labeled as a bodysuit if I recall correct). For the first iteration, or general attempts at least I left the criss cross section out, even though I do have small enough eyelets to get them done. as it turned out as I ended up wanting more organic lines for my thingy, getting the pattern done was easier said than done... sewing008 I believe I mentioned the roll of pleather I managed to procure in another topic somewhere, and it is more or less suitable for this sort of thing. Thick enough not to need any weird sacrificial stuff while sewing, but flexible enough that it will bend around itself rather nicely... That said... turning the patterns into actual items didn't go without its sacrifices... sewing009 So after about two days of beavering away at these, I finally managed to get two presentable sets done, one more or less in the spirit of the original, and then a two piece affair which is based on the one piece pattern. sewing010 The one piece one has some fine tuning still to do with the patterns, and the two piece's top just has a bit of delamination going on, but over all Im happy for now, more or less that I have at least something to show off for two days worth of head scratching. ... And while these might look like they resemble stuff you could get off YJA, I did not reverse engineer anything to actually make my patterns... so then it was just time to charge the camera battery, and then stuff Elizabeth into this, since it does give a minor Avenger saber vibe... She is clearly confused. Short or long? Here is her original wig: My styling cream and wig spray just came in the other day. I worked on the top one first. Haven't done much with Towa’s original. Started to, but then I got busy so I’ll just have to redo it all haha. Oh, and here is a picture of the first wig when I just got it, pre-style: Much better, huh? Lmao. I still have to fluff out her tails though, so they don’t look like they’re hanging limp.

I used to have barbie dolls. Later I converted to dollfie dreams and anime dolls. I sometimes miss barbie/mattel/hasbro style. I wanted to create big Rapunzel hybrid but there was not any big enough large head. I often imagine how Mattel or Hasbro makes 1/3 dolls line. (not real but nice) I always liked hybrids and experiments. Also I used to rebuild bionicles into my own creations. And I was mixing barbies later. I am just a crazy doctor of fusion (FuDr.) When Edna Mode was released I wondered: Hmm, how might she look at her young student age? I was not 100% sure about the head scale. So i did not buy her until yesterday. I found a video where Edna was next to toy story barbie. So I started to search the river called Internet. And I found very good offer from Czech online store. (last one piece) Note1: I was telling myself that I will get a doll for christmass. (just did not know what doll, and for which crhistamass) Maybe a destiny? Okay, back to the idea. possible roles: Edna Mode as young student of fashion design university. Robot girl using verbatim diskettes to install "spells"/programs and work in combat just like mage in Dungeons and Dragons. (smart cortex hardware required) Another elvish girl. Maybe might be very forgotten friend of Mirakuru Tsunemi. Or Nyan-dere? Nyan? Note2: She reminds me somehow Velma from Scooby Doo. But just a little bit. (yeah different hair color, perphaps due to big glasses, or we could pretend Velma turned goth) Note3: Maybe a Clair from first monter high film I am very excited to manage attaching the head to torso. This is an experiment. I made this photomontage just for fun and visualisation. (me not a photoshop master ) Also put it into bikiny to make it less NSFW. This is long time project. As I have both Volks DDS Rem, and Cherry Milk's Rem outfit, I wanted to compare them. Rem is in the left in her included outfit. ShibuRin is modeling Cherry Milk's take. She's on an L bust single-piece DDS body, the only other L bust DDS I have. Close up on the Volks outfit. And Cherry Milk. It's good, but Volks clearly has access to better material choices. Volks' headband is kind of strange. One single piece of plastic, which kind of locks onto the hair. It works, but it's weird. Then there's the cross hair accessory, which is again, plastic. It's not great. Cherry Milk used a wire headband with actual ribbons and little plastic flowers. I haven't used the Cherry Milk hairpins or ribbon hair accessory yet, but I like that the hairpins for the X are actual hairpins, which will probably work and look better. Volks included garter-belts attached to the stockings. Cherry Milk has the black ribbon and lacy bit at the top, but no belts. The Cherry Milk stockings are a bit too long for DDS, too. The outfit is meant more for the DD body. Over all, the Volks outfit has a crisp, factory made feel, while Cherry Milk feels like a handmade outfit. Most people will prefer Volks. I,m still happy I got the Cherry Milk outfit, but I won't be putting DDS Rem in it. ( I bought the Cherry Milk outfit before Rem was announced).

Well, its been awhile since the last set, due to a few reasons involving spending not so quality time in my garage... But finally I got a bit of a break to try something.. Wait, you thought we sold her? Nah, we just sold the DDH-03 SW head when we found the real Tea, a Yukino V2 (who came installed with the eyes she’s currently wearing). We like to call the previous head we sold, “Tea’s clone”. The head ended up just filling in her spot until she came home. We wanted a V2 but they were sold out and discontinued by the time he seriously thought about getting one. Fortunately, one day I was browsing around Mandarake and found a V2 Yukino with those beautiful, purple eyes installed. I had to mention it to him and we bought her quickly. So, the old head had to be sold and the new/”real” Tea came into our lives. Tea, as she is now, was opened on August, 6th, 2018. She has stolen my heart a bit especially since I see a quite mischievous side in her though her real character that my friend is making her into is not like that at all. Haha~ So, in retrospect, Tea’s personality/character in this photo story is mainly how I see her currently and is not a reflection on who she will become once my friend fully customizes her to be who she truly is. She will end up being different once finished. Regardless of that, he does seem to enjoy her and hopes for the day he ends up being able to fully customize her into who she is meant to be. I've had this lingerie for a while now and even tho it's been on almost every one of my girls that has a silicone chest, for some reason Midori here wears it best. I was playing around with the lighting this time and going for an old timey look where the photos have that yellowed out look. It works in a few of the pics but not all of them.
