I play many single player rpg games or I solo mmrpgs (social anxiety). I like games like Dragon Age, Skyrim, Fallout 4, Guild Wars 2, etc. I avoid any online game with a toxic player base since they make my anxiety worse. I also like games like Factorio.

I've heard good things about FFXIV, so I might try that one out once I have the chance to do that.

I really feel you regarding online games with toxic player base. I'm on the same boat - so I usually play JRPGs that are less known than the Triple A titles. Still quite popular but not mainstream (JRPGs like Valkyria Chronicles, Caligula, Xenoblade). I also have bad anxiety.

I've been meaning to play FFXIV but I just couldn't add another subscription to my laundry list lol. I know lots of friends who play the game and it is indeed very good. I'm not sure if they still have the free version with the Lvl. 60 cap. I was able to try for awhile but I always get kicked out of servers...which makes me lose patience and not play an MMORPG.

Its still there (Up to level 60, and end of Heavensward), they made that the default preview period. The recent patch notes also included them expanding the trust system again for more dungeons and even some trials (I guess because of cue's for certain stuff).

Now that Endwalker is in its patch phase congestion should probably be a bit less than usual, except on patch and reset days... not to mention the added servers/worlds, although the yanqui side servers are/were experiencing some harrasment lately.

But again, fourteen will be a mixed reaction, since people will be people, and all.

I'm a big nerd; I love things I can roleplay in. Let me get invested in my character and their story, customize them and weave adventures with others. WoW (Which I haven't played since early Shadowlands), GW2, SWTOR, and Star Trek Online are my usual go-to's, depending on the mood. I've also been tinkering with a free private WoW server that is one huge sandbox with no combat functions, aimed at RPers creating their own zones. I did try to get into FFXIV, but the camera and floating displays above characters' heads gave me vertigo. While Wildstar was still around, I always had to toggle those functions off. FFXIV has some of the most stunning animation though.

And yes, I also play tabletop. LARP is a future goal.

Definitely rpgs but theres a few farming sims in there. Rune factory is my favorite combo of the two LOL. I love FFXIV. The storyline felt so meaningful to me.

Since @PolitelyNefarious mentioned Tabletop gonna mention my favorites there too. I'm a biiiig indie tabletop gamer. I freaking LOVE trying new table top games. My favorite is Yokai hunters socitety!
But there is one game that is like a ttrpg video game I ABSOLUTELY have an obsession with to the point some of my dolls stories are based off my playthroughs and thats Sunless Sea.

hmm.. after taking a break from it because real life reasons resulting in zero motivation ... with all the recent hubbub in the FFXIV preorder thing, and the cross talk about Automata ... wound up looking up the songs from the Nier raids, which are still as epic as they ever were... and now I really want to go back and redo the raids, just not with my main since there's nothing to gain there, and my closest alt which is my solo challenge (for the most part) hyur is only at Sunken temple of skalla, and hasnt done the crystal tower stuff yet either.... argh. guess some time sacrifices are in order again ... and some Khloe books I suppose.

Also miss The Twinning ... because when the lead english translator gets in on the fun, you know its worth it:

(dunno did I post it already somewhere, but still...)

It’s been so long that I don’t really remember most of the characters, but I really appreciated how wacky literally everyone in each game was.

It was also hilarious how you could propose to people you weren’t meant to in Frontier and they’d get all awkward and uncomfortable about it.

Mahoutsukai no Yoru/Witch on the Holy Night is available on the Nintendo Switch now, in English. It's a visual novel, which means it plays like a slideshow movie (full voice acting) where you read a story.

IMO Aoko & Alice are two of the best DDs Volks as made. If this was available 10 years ago I would have absolutely pounced on getting these two. Er, it doesn't look like I've come across someone's Alice to take photos of.

Nice!  I'm also on team Visual Novel.  I just preordered Yuzusoft's new title, "Tenshi☆Souzou RE-BOOT!"

I've dabbled in visual novels a bit, but ultimately being a character development and action type, they're out of my depth. The writing has to be near-perfect to hold my interest.

MMORPGs are my bread and butter. If I can level and customize my own character, explore the world in third person, collect armor and weapons through dungeons and quests, and find a good, thriving roleplay community, I'm down. Unfortunately, good friendly roleplay is getting harder to find these days if you're not into, uhhh...  ecchi but in text. A lot of the most creative stuff seems to have dried up, no matter where you go. Still, WoW, GWII, and SWTOR are my staples, and I dabble with STO from time to time. I've been thinking of giving Final Fantasy Online another shot with all these anime aesthetics making their way back into my life. RIP Wildstar.

@ragnamuffin has an Alice that she shows off here:

But indeed, we need more photos of her.

I've been into playing Final Fantasy 14 lately, and just reached Shadowbringers! The story so far has been really good and has gotten me hooked!

I really loved Heavensward as well, but Shadowbringers blew that one out of the water.

I had been playing WoW classic but my keyboard is too busted to play atm so for the last few weeks I've been playing FIFA23 on ps4. I recently had to change the HDD in my PC and still have to install some games again. Probably will get Skyrim and GW2 back up but I hadn't played either for ages. Without a working keyboard tho, I'm in no rush to install anything. It's not good when autorun gets stuck right before a boss fight 🤣

Besides the usual continuing suspects, something popped up on steam quite surprisingly, and for a moment I actually had my hopes up ... but only for a moment.

Namely some folks did finally manage to put out a remake of an old 90's classic called System Shock, the origin story that had Ken Levine chasing his tail in more and more epic retro futuristic settings.

All I can really say based on the free demo is "oof"

They get it wrong right from the start when they pretty much ruined one of the more epic intro songs ever (especially if you had a Gravis ultrasound for the original 20 or so disk floppy version, or later the CD remaster) into a mushy mess of pseudo synthwave accompanied by a lukewarm cinematic that I guess tries to mimic the bioshock intro's very badly.

I remain in my oppinnion that Alien: Isolation remains the closest thing in more modern games to the original game in terms of an overall experience, especially if these guys are wanting 40 euros for it, so id recommend that strongly over this even if you are curious.

Oh the dissapointment... if only the original CD version didnt crash in a specific place right at the start on the hardware I have for old dos stuff.

After years of swearing they weren’t for me, I’ve been on a total Atelier binge, almost done with the Arland trilogy. The time limitations feel akin to a board gaming experience. I just love the feeling of regret for poor resource management, and adjusting strategy to compensate.

Also still waiting with hope for another Voice of Cards. They aren’t perfect but the art is to die for and definitely inspires ideas for dolls.

If only this were true, but its probably better that the fourth game be forgotten. But the original threesome are quite nice growing up stories with their respective themes.  Still amused about the age changes in the localization that would have made rorona about 40 (if i remember correct) in Meruru so they dropped all ages on the game website.

And speaking of rorona this quote came to mind when combining the workshop inventories: "how did you do it? -- i just went Ga-cha! -- ga... Cha.. ? -- Yes! Ga-cha."

....and now i probably need to dust off my ps3 and look up a guide for all the endings i never had time for.

I play a lot of different games!

My favorite series growing up were the Bokujou Monogatari series- or Harvest Moon in the west. I've been replaying Rune Factory recently while waiting for the next one to come out. I play Sims on occasion, and Animal Crossing.

Currently my main obsession is Tears of the Kingdom! I keep oscillating between that and Dragon Quest XI when I need a little more structure.

I do play alot of different genres!

I do love all RPGs, rythm games, survival horror, platformers, open worlds and so many more... I guess I'm very versatile when it comes to games! I play mostly retro games as my favorite consoles are the N64, dreamcast, GBA and PS1! But I do own and play most recent games.

Some of my favorites are Bloodborne, TLoZ series, FF series, Okami, Gitaroo Man, Kingdom Hearts series, Furi, DrakeNier, Sonic series and so so many more 😵

Oh no! Break my heart! I was going to play it next. Is the story bad?  I was hoping it would be more like Rorona!

Lulua is just best described as dissapointing in all aspects.

From a technical stand point they managed to make a PS4 game run and look worse than a PS3 game, one perticular thing that drove me a bit mad was the walking animations that have no relation to the movement to the scenery for instance.

And the story just doesent grab you enough to overlook the technical issues. If you're going straight to Lulua from Meruru its going to be a bad experience.

Personally I went from Meruru to the middle of the Dusk series with Escha & Logy, and the followup Shallie. despite these were PS3 games, they were pretty nice overall (Yea, yea.. I know some people think Mana Khemia was peak atelier, but I put more weight on story than gameplay). Shallie especially is interesting since it brought back the two heroine routes of ArTonelico and added some minor spice from that series as well.... and did I mention Rusty Sky...?

The PS4 games have been a bit of a downhill, from Sophie and Firis which sort of worked (Plachta is amusing) but youd expect them to be more pretty on a PS4 ... Although Firis had some neat ideas in terms of world exploration, but then Lulua just makes you sigh.

for some reason Atelier Thighs Ryze seems to have made a splash, but I didnt even bother after Lulua.

As a side note there is Nelke and the Legendary alchemists, which is pretty much Atelier Allstars, that tries to mimic Meruru in terms of the city building, but again you'd think it would be a lot more pretty all things considering.

But its been a bit of a thing for Gust, I think one of their producers went on record that they need to meet annual quotas to keep their publisher/co-owner happy, but since the singular titles dont really meet them, so they end up pumping out half baked stuff as a result -- which is a shame.

I primarily play RPG style games. Currently I am actively playing Retail WoW and when I am away from my PC I play Lord of Heroes on Mobile.

I have played mostly every Tales of series (not the ones before the PS2) The first one I played was Tales of the Abyss, which made me fall in love with the franchise.

I used to play Twisted Wonderland but the rapid taping made my fingers hurt q.q

I will play almost any game, almost. Give me rpgs, j-rpgs, horror, action, shooter, mobile, simulation, eroge—etcetera.

moba and other players in the game gives me an anxiety attack. Full-on I’m not the best at socialising;;; I have solo played ow when it was in beta 💀 I still partake in solo playing ow2 and dead by daylight. With a bit of breathing exercises before and after.
