Tierparkzone's Doll Photos

I hate using body stockings because it detracts from sexy styled outfits, how about you?  If they don't bug you maybe try one out for Kizuna and that set?

She's actually wearing one in those photos. The Smart Doll body stockings are pretty useful in that regard as they're modular. I left out the bust part, but legs, torso and arms are well protected. And it did help - no stains after the photoshoot. So don't worry - we'll probably see her in that outfit again every once in a while. Just a bummer that it's necessary at all...

Btw: Kanata is wearing a body stocking as well, as her maid dress is fairly new and I have not tested it for staining yet.

Last weekend was i-Doll 60 and while the organizers had pandemic countermeasures in place, the venue was quite well frequented (unlike the autumn events). Since I didn't want the hassle of disinfecting all my stuff after I get home, I left doll and camera in my backpack while there.

However on the way back I stopped by Tennouzu Isle. As this area has mostly office buildings, it is not too overrun on weekends and makes a nice backdrop for some photos:

A while ago I headed down to Yokohama to meet up with a friend. I had brought Kanata with me and decided to take a few photos in Yamashita Park and the Akarenga area. - Enjoy:

We even stumbled upon a light installation and Kanata decided to join in for a bit.

This time, let's take a look at some stuff I built over the last year.

First up: The DAISOFA! A sofa I made solely from stuff bought at Daiso - a 100 Yen store chain.

Lots of doll sofas are fairly expensive and feature a more classical look - however I wanted something simple and modern looking so I decided to try building one myself. The DAISOFA is made of parts for a desk rack, styrofoam, zip ties and a felt cover. - Total cost about 1800 Yen and half a day of sewing.

In hindsight I could have made the felt reach a bit further down, but overall it provides a decent place for the girls to laze around.

And then of course we have the lightsabers. - You've probably seen them appear in my photo stories every once in a while.

65f16856c614a0c9ee8733693d6c47fe.jpg

For those I took inspiration from how fans build their life size lightsabers. Shrinking down the design meant a few compromises but I'm really happy with the end result. The LEDs inside (about 40 per blade) are far to power hungry for a couple button cells inside the hilt - so USB-power it is. (A small Li-Po inside the hilt may work, but these are expensive and a pain to handle.) - USB is still great though, as you can either use them with any USB power supply or a power bank while on the go.

Kanata's brooding face and the color black suiting her, made it obvious she needed a red blade and an Imperial/Sith-like design.

Kyrie borrowed it once for her entry into a Dollfie photo contest:

For Kizuna I wanted something to match her blue eyes, so I went with a blue blade. But obviously Kizuna being Kizuna, a plain ol' lightsaber would not do it for her. As the dual blade lightsabers are always wicked cool, I went with this configuration.

20939710438ebfc19102d6e94eed5aab.jpg

Interestingly, the wavelengths of the blue LEDs are very prone to messing up the white balance of my big camera (surprisingly, my phone camera is not nearly as affected). So it tends to look more white-ish, than the proper blue it has in reality. Playing around with the settings helps a bit, though.

I love the new Racing-Queen Outfit (white) by Doll Hearts! It looks so cool and even has proper white lining on the inside.

So Chitose and Kanata both got to try it out in this photo shoot. Also added the only racing related props I had in grabbing distance. 😝

Enjoy:

I'm very tempted to get the black one as well, but it's supposedly for DDdy - so I wont chance it. Hopefully, From Sen will have it in their Akiba store soon - then I can try if it fits SmD well enough.

Until next time!

DDDy and Smart Dolls are pretty comparable in size, imo.  The only differences I know of off the top of my head is SmD might have longer legs and thinner arms/necks.  You'd also probably have a very roomy chat-area if your SmD is rocking the default/small bust, since my DDDy's default bust is very similar to my DD Shapely-L bust, which is essentially if SmD did a large push-up bust.

Either way, I'm pretty sure the outfit would be fine.

First try with a proper background scroll.

I'll need to play around with the lighting a bit more, but this will do for now.

Beautiful as usual, who's the little oni?

I suggest lights from above or fully lateral, cause the shadows on the background break the illusion.

Also you need to iron some of the creases. My backgrounds come to me folded many times, it was a difficult task to get rid of the various creases ironing them long enough to make them disappear, but short enough to not harm the semi-plastic material...

Since then I stored them rolled up.

Hehe... That's just Iori with a hime-cut wig. - Fits her really well, I dare say.

Indeed -  I guess some light from above should keep the background properly bright. I'm just contemplating on how to set this up properly.

That's why I went with a full frontal lighting for now - to hide the shadows behind the dolls as much as possible.

If only I had an iron...  Good to know it can technically be ironed, though.

Currently, I have the scroll tightly rolled around a cardboard pipe - hopefully that already helps a bit against the creases.

Just wanted to try it out the moment I got it. Shadows and creases notwithstanding, I'm pretty happy I can now add a bit more atmosphere to my sets and we don't always have to see the same old wall.

Your photos and backgrounds are amazing. It's always encouraging to me see photos like yours. Now, I need to get up off my butt and put it into practice.

I point my light to the ceiling and make it bounce down on the scene. This also contribute to diffuse the light (if the ceiling is white obviously).

I love Kanata so much. She's gorgeous!

As much as I'd love her I just can't bring myself to buy from there anymore. I can still enjoy everyone's photos though.
