Welcome to Xabby's Doll Project R.U.N.E.S where I make my ocs into DD dolls. It's also where I make certain video game characters into dd dolls as well! This project will probably take a while to finish. With that in mind, each section of this thread has an certain page related to the certain dolls I'm planning or currently doing while keeping their names a secrect until they're done. Keep in mind that updates are...very sparse since doing DD dolls can take while, esp if I was the one doing an faceup on a head. I will update the begin of the post if I decided to work on another doll.

 

 

Doll no. 1 - Maji-tsun

Status - Unfinished

DD type - Dollfie Dream Sister 2.0

DD Base - Dollfie Dream Sister Chikage

DD Head - DDH-09 Opened Eyeholes

Clothes - Red and Black Color scheme with a bit of an goth style

Hair - Short twintail

Eyes - Heterochromia Eyes (Left Grey and Right Red)

Eye style - a bit demon style

Accessories - Red Glasses

I’m a bit confused by this. If you’re using a DDH-09 for the head then what do you need Chikage for? You can just buy a base body separately for much less.

This is just a me thing, but I just prefer having the doll wear something basic like the white dress than be clothes-less until I get enough funds to buy the outfit.

Might I recommend ye olde sock dress instead? I'd just hate for you to spend excess money when it's not needed. You can also find plenty of tutorials of simply wrapping a long enough piece of fabric as a dress (i.e. scarf)

I mean, that sounds like a good idea. The problem I can only find is that I nor anyone in the family owns a sewing kit. I mean, my mamaw knits, or crochet an hat for me to wear, but I'm not sure if an knit  or crochet version of an sock dress has ever done before. Again, the DDS Chikage does come with an outfit acording to what the volks website JPN has, which I'll list out here and the link; Doll, Wigs, Dollfie Head cap L, slip dress, shorts, O-ring (x5) https://dollfie.ec.volks.co.jp/category/D_DD/4518992455112.html

Again, I am open to crafting clothes and such, I'm just not sure my mamaw would be willing to crochet an outfit.

The standard slip dress Chikage comes with is the same one all DD and DDS Dream Choice dolls come with. It’s not exclusive to Chikage and certainly not worth paying ¥53,900 for. It would make more sense to just buy a normal outfit from their store.

Thirding this! Unless you have future plans with the Chikage head, there's no reason to pay that much extra just for the slip dress.

A DDS base body is 17,600 Yen cheaper than a standard model. That's more than enough to get you any one DD clothing set from the Volks website (except collab outfits). And you may even have enough left over for a blank 09 head and some painting supplies.

That may be true, however buying the dds body, head, some clothes, and the DD care stuff is more expensive all together when compared to just buying an DDS Chikage and the DD care kit stuff. Sure, it's still expensive, but at least it cost $419 just for the DDS Chikage and DD Care kit.

Actually, I do have plans with it. But, it's kind of my fault for not doing a better job explaining why would I buy the head for an DDS Chikage. I planned to use the Chikage head for an custom Nightcord at 25:00 Miku version. The outfit is on low stock though on Volks jpn site, so I don't know if the outfit is still in stock by the time I decided to get another dds doll that isn't an collab doll like Sakura Miku.

But you will still have to buy the DDH-09 head even if you buy Chikage, which you haven’t factored into your costs. If you have a use for the Chikage head then it makes sense to buy her, but otherwise (and especially if funds are tight) it’s more economical to buy everything separately.

Well, I figure I'll buy the head at an later date and time since I don't know how to do an proper faceup yet nor have the materials for making an faceup. So, for the time being, I'm just buying things slowly since I don't want to get ahead of myself and also properly care for the DD dolls.

In case someone replies again, due to two people telling me not to buy the DSS Higake for an new head, I decided to just...get the DDS Base Body 2.0 (DD-f3). I guess I can use an actual sock or ask my mamaw if she can crocth an blanket to cover her until I get some clothes for her. Also, I can't edit the first post due to me being a new member and not member.

I’m sorry it came off that way. In no way were we telling you what to do, we were just pointing out that buying everything separately would save you money. In the end, it’s your money and your choice, so you should do whatever works best for you!
